Dawn Redwood seeds are extremely easy to sprout. Nothing you did is needed. Just place a wet paper towel on a plate. Sprinkle the seeds on top. Place another wet paper towel on top. Keep it moist and within a couple weeks the seeds will sprout. No stratification needed. I've been doing it this way for years.

Thank you for commenting. I have only had access to dried seeds that seem to be more dormant. Will try your method out when I get some fresh seeds in the Autumn.

These were fresh seeds and had quite a few germinate.
