Could you maybe do a beginners version of this, or put the chords up on the screen? I found the fingerpicking bit fine but the rest is hard to keep up with as I’m not 100% on the chords or strumming pattern!
First of all, I am subbed and liked the video - Nice work! On both verses, in order to create a dynamic that matches the vocaI, I prefer to arpeggio the chords for 1 bar, then strum for 1 bar, then back to arpeggios (that's if I have someone else singing, this is very hard to do by yourself due to off timings all over the place). For example: arpeggios until 31seconds in (you can hear the arpeggios in the right ear on the record) then strumming (right after the word "Coy") up until 40 seconds in; then switch back to arpeggios (right when he says "baby don't pretend"). Repeat technique for 2nd verse also. This builds right into the performance a rise and fall of energy so the chorus really stands out. Also sounds cool 😎 👌
Honestly I think the arpeggios sound best as follows : first 3 strings of D (2 beats rest), then first 4 strings of E (2 beats rest), first 3 strings of G, interestingly timed first 3 strings of A, interestingly timed first 4 strings of of D. The last note should be on the last off beat, then switch to strumming, then repeat arpeggios after doing a bar of the chords you taught to strum.
You're a falling star, you're the getaway car You're the line in the sand when I go too far You're the swimming pool, on an August day And you're the perfect thing to say And you play it coy, but it's kinda cute Oh when you smile at me you know exactly what you do Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true 'cause you can see it when I look at you And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, It's you, it's you, you make me sing You're every line, you're every word, you're everything You're a carousel, you're a wishing well And you light me up when you ring my bell You're a mystery, you're from outer space You're every minute of my everyday And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man And I get to kiss you baby just because I can Whatever comes our way, oh we'll see it through And you know that's what our love can do And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, It's you, it's you, you make me sing You're every line, you're every word, you're everything So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, It's you, it's you, you make me sing You're every line, you're every word, you're everything You're every song, and I sing along 'Cause you're my everything Yeah, yeah So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

This was a bit challenging I wish he could show the strumming pattern on the screen 😮
