I had a red 97 Trans Am WS6 with an automatic. My first TA and loved that car, but it was from the lot so sort of settled for what they had. I ordered my 01 navy blue Trans Am WS6 with manual in Oct 2000, got it 2 days before Christmas (what a gift!!). Still have it and recently had some upkeep done on it. I am in love with this car all over again!! So much fun to drive. Looks almost as good as new. Only 54K miles.
Can I buy it!!??😂😂😂 I’ve always wanted a WS6 ever since I was a kid I’ve always said I would consider trading my 71 nova plus cash for a clean all stock 6spd WS6
@@PistonTrends Yeah man ... no problem. She's my daily driver and has been since 2002. The "upgrades" always make it faster, look better and ride better! I'm hoping to daily her until I croak or stop driving.
Great video; my 02 T/A WS6 convertible gets heads turned every where I go. I agree they are pretty rare and people don't know what they are. I always have people asking me when I hit the coffe-and-cars shows!
I have a VERY luxurious 1989 GTA Trans Am that makes 1000hp at the wheels and is Built for road courses. It has heated leather racing seats, digital displays, and 6spd transmission. It sounds like a jet anywhere above 30mph, and most hot rodders don’t flex on it, but some have, and BOY is it fun breaking their hearts! It only gets 6mpg, but you can confidently smoke pretty much any street legal car. The other best part is that it looks like KITT’s roided up big brother lol.
99 white n blue and 02 yellow and black. Also 74 super duty blue, 3.8 turbo T/A which was just as fast as the grand national. 68 400 ram air black, had to weld a chain on one side kept breaking motor mounts= some serious torque.
I had mine stolen. I am waiting to replace it when I do it will be a 01 or 02 black with sandalwood interior or black interior T/A WS6. The felt dashboard covers and T-Top inserts work great for protecting the interior.
I own a '02 Firehawk SLP (Street Legal Performance), it is rated as having 345 HP higher than a WS6 yet it is not mentioned in your video. I think it comparable to a WS6 but with more HP but gets little love.
I 🤔 Truly loved My Pontiac 🏁👍 GTO 5.7L And G8 6.0L Cam. Also before those My first General Motors Pontiac was a Grand Prix I was On the 🤔 Hunt for 5.0 Ford Mustangs 🏁👑 Yes Please.
I have a 2001 WS6 automatic car with 90k miles.....I'm definitely changing out the auto transmission when I get some money together. The automatic transmission is nowhere near as fun as a 6 speed. Totally different cars as far as the fun factor. Automatics are just too serene and not exciting
1996 was the first year of the WS6 package for the 4th Gen cars. You could get it on the Firebird Formula and Trans Am. All of the V8 Firebirds could be optioned with either a 4spd automatic or 6spd manual transmission. All 1998-2002 Trans Ams came with T-Tops unless you opted for a convertible.
@rogerdavis2056 Yes. In this instance, I was referring to the 4th gen cars. The WS6 package was available in the 3rd Gen as well. I've been watching a lot of 4th Gen vids lately, and there a good number that don't have their facts straight.
...1969 Pontiac Trans Am convertible is less collectible? Eight made? Eight total, four manual 4 automatic? Versus over 40 WS6 convertibles made in 1997, never mind any other year?
@@PistonTrends I understand. However your video title *literally* asks the question, "Is the FIREBIRD Trans-AM WS6 the RAREST Pontiac?". I was responding to the question you asked me, which references every Pontiac ever made.
not by a long shot. The ws6 got bastardized and over quoted. WS6 has been around for decades. I have had pontiacs for over 40 years. It was not until SLP was contracted to swap out the hoods and air intake box, that the hooded ws6 package became popular. There were many cars built on order with thw ws6 suspension only.
@@PistonTrends Sadly! One of these years I’m gonna buy another black 2002 WS6. Unfortunately, mine got totaled. It’s still my all-time favorite car to this day.
Saw it once on a drag race. Absolutely breathtaking car.
👍🏻
The 2002 firehawk was one of the best looking cars I've ever seen. Yellow and black. Very slick.
Also the most rare
For that era, I agree!
Agree, I've had a lot of high end cars and still lust after one of these

Great car. Mine is a base `99 Trans Am. It has 404,000 miles on it. Every repair that I've ever made resulted in an upgrade!

The 98+ Trans Am looks so much better than the 97 and earlier version, especially with the Ram Air hood.
Totally agree. I remember my neighbor had one and I always loved seeing that ram air hood coming down the street.

Pontiac FIREBIRD Trans Am WS6
👍🏻
Hi Chamren Phon. 😊
👍🏻
What’s the name of this car?
Which one? In the thumbnail? It’s a WS6 with some kind of body kit.
Why is the Tran Am so underrated tho?😢
For real! I think the Camaro has always took the spotlight between the two.
@ What’s the difference between a Trans Am and a Trans Am WS6?
iv looked for the ground effects on the ta in the header photo for ever for mine lmao ill only ever collect pontiacs
I want them for my 500hp '95!! Any idea where to get them???
that looks like the Wings West kit. possibly Vader but my guess is W-type.
Love the firebird!

firehawk formula is rarest
3rd gen Firehawk Formula is one of the baddest F bodies ever made, and definitely cooler than the 4th gen Firehawk.
Actual the 1988 , notch back is the rarest
👍🏻
Just a sleeper.😊
👍🏻
I have a Firehawk I think it’s more rare. That’s after owning 2 WS6 cars
What year?
1999 6 speed trans am black #36 they made less trans am Firehawks than formulas
I'd assume the rarest is the 2002 anniversary edition.
I’d have to agree. Last year of production.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw one. It’s been a while!

The first few years of that thing were the ugliest design ever.
Later years were the best looking
How cares about ws6 it a trans am there better aftermarket parts to beat a ws6 out there
It’s the collectibility of the factory built WS6 though
