      Don't run fans at 100%...soon the fans will be weared out and the cooling could be ineffective......Add some cheap case fans to your pc... as Intake and Exhaust Fans....If u can't do it... keep your side panel open.... I have a GTX 1660 Super too... It reachs 73 C when maxed out..... Any temperature below 85C is okay for GPU... But try to keep it below 75c.. If You Manage to do that... Nice video. Do all the graphics card shut down at a dangerous temperature? In particular does the gtx1070 has this protection?
    Yesterday the coolers of my 1070 failed and the temperature was 94°c acording to msi afterburner for around 40 minutes until i realised it and fixed it... my pc never shut down on those minutes.
    My gpu seems to work well but i am very afraid that those 40 minutes with my gpu at 94°c (probably more) could cause any damage.

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  2 года назад

      Thank you! Yes, your GTX1070 will shut itself down if it gets to a critical temperature. Your card may have been 1 or 2 Celcius away from shutting down. It's very unlikely that any damaged has been caused after just 40 minutes at 94°C.

      Great question. It depends which computer part it is but in general, anything running in the 70s (Celsius) or below can generally be considered safe. Anything running in the 80s will normally be ok. Temps in the 90s can be problematic, but not always. Temps at 100C+ is often too hot and will need extra cooling. But that is only a general guide. Can these temps damage the gpu long term? Also my i9 9900ks spiked to 81c when I pushed it's usagee up to 90 to100%. Where normally playing cod it stays around 59c to 69c. So your graphics card is running in the 70s (celsius) and I presume that your cpu is also running in the 70s as well as you say it spikes to 81°C. Those are good temps for your graphics card and cpu. I wouldn't be concerned about long-term affects at those temperatures.

      @EasyPcRepairs  2 года назад

      There are three mainstream ways to cool the graphics card more to lower its temps. The first is to clean the PC, particularly its fans. This can help a lot with airflow inside the case. The second is to add an extra case fan. And the third is to open up the graphics card and repaste the graphics card's GPU chip. Just doing one or two of those options should help a lot with the cooling of your card.

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  4 года назад

      That could be a problem with the sensors, especially as you have some normal temps mixed with very high temps. The fact that the temperature reaches 114 when you've only just started your computer is another sign of faulty sensors.

    • @djordjegavrilovic5543

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  4 года назад

      I had a motherboard once that had one faulty sensor (would read 128C at boot-up). A motherboard BIOS update fixed the problem and from then on it read the temps correctly. So you could try doing a BIOS update on your motherboard. If a BIOS update doesn't fix your temp readings, it could be that they are faulty.

      Cleaning your computer can bring down temperatures as dust buildup can trap heat and slow airflow. Also adding fans inside the computer case will help cool things down.On the software side of things, stop any other running programs (including non essential background processes) whilst gaming.

    • @EasyPcRepairs

      If your computer is not shutting itself down (say, in the middle of a game) then it is not overheating. If you are not experiencing any strange computer behaviour, then it is not overheating. So no immediate cause for concern, but cooling your computer a little would help bring down the temps and stop it from throttling. If a temp reading is showing 127C, that is because the sensor is faulty or not present. Cooler temps will help prolong the life of your mobo too. Hope that helps.

    Also, as long as a game is running, does it make a significant difference whether I monitor my pc's performance with an overlay while in game?

      HWinfo is good for monitoring temperatures and doesn't take up many system resources. MSI afterburner is more designed to run whilst gaming so I'd probably go with that one. It uses hardly any system resources for most games, so the affect it will have is minimal.

If it's a desktop pc, make sure the fans are not blocked by anything and that they are working properly. Also, you can turn up your fan(s) speed from the BIOS/UEFI, or by using fan software.
