    By far the MOST DETAILED step by step video I've seen yet. Most builders just skip right over crucial areas and seem agitated but you are very thorough and calm. I'm going to try and build my first pc thanks to your video. You have earned a subscriber and should be damn proud of yourself for making such a great video.

    I know this is a very old video at this point, but I just want to make sure that the correct information is out there. If you’re going to put a radiator in your case in this orientation, make sure the pipes are at the bottom of the radiator. Not the top. Air in a cooling system will invariably rise to the highest point in the loop. With the pipes at the top, as you lose liquid and air enters the system, you’ll have turbulence and the pump sucking air from the top of the radiator.

    I started with a amd fx-4300 and a gtx 730 2gb and i was running high at 1080p on bioshock infinite
    i upgraded the gtx 730 to a gtx 970 4gb for better graphical performance
    the cpu can be clocked to 4.2 ghz and is a quad core so it holds its own even today for gaming at a good price

    as always Dave a fantastic, informative video. It's quite a coincidence that I have purchased very similar parts. msi gtx 980 4gb, msi gaming 5 motherboard, I7 4790, I am reusing my old ssd, 3xhdd and antec power supply. I only have to buy a case and cooler and then I can build it!
    I am extremely wary of water cooling as I have heard many horror stories but it seems the only realistic solution. what are your thoughts and experiences on water cooling the cpu? Also will you be covering the final set up steps with the mobo driver, installation, bios set up and cpu/gpu overclocking and first boot up of your epic pc!

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад +1

      +Steve Welch Thank you Steve! Sounds like you're building yourself a great pc! As for water cooling setups, there are some that leak but the one I've used in this video (Corsair H80i GT) is a good one and is very unlikely to be a problem. It's extremely rare for a good quality CPU water cooler to ever leak, but cheap ones may do (that's why I avoid them).
      I won't be covering the final set up, but I do know that your particular graphics card will arrive with overclocking software. That software is very simple to use so I'm sure you'll have some fun with that!

    • @steve323f
      @steve323f 8 лет назад

      +EasyPcRepairs I will look into that particular water cooler, I guess I am just getting nervous installing water cooling into my pc. thank you for the sound advice as always. msi afterburner is a brilliant programme and easy to use!

      Awesome. Well I'm building a PC and am not sure how wifi fits into it all. Do I need to buy a wifi receiver of some sort after I've bought all the sort of parts you've listed? Or does it come built in somewhere?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад

      +Wasabi D You can connect this computer to your Internet Service Provider by using an Ethernet cable, which will connect this computer to your Internet Service Provider's modem/router. If you want to connect this computer to the Internet wirelessly, you'll need a wifi card which can be picked up quite cheaply at places like Amazon.

    Great video, followed every step; except, I ordered the wrong motherboard. I purchased the Ranger VIII instead of the VII, now I'm stuck on whether to return the processor or find another compatible motherboard. What would you suggest?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад +1

      +George Diaz I would recommend keeping your processor and buying the 'Asus Z97 Pro Gamer' motherboard. The Ranger VII (as shown in the video) doesn't seem to be so widely available right now, but they can still be found here and there. The Asus Z97 Pro Gamer motherboard is widely available and is very similar to the Ranger VII. It will also be 100% compatible with all the parts you already have.

    Is it ok to use one sata power cable to power all the ssd, hdd and optical drive? Cause in your vid, you used two cables, 1 for the ssd and hdd and 1 for your optical drive.

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад

      +Mark Lawrence Ranollo You can use a cable for all three, but quite often they're not long enough to reach the optical drive as well.

    Nice video! I want to make a game PC myself as well. But I'm a complete newbie. I want to do it with a AMD processor. Do I need a spesivic motherboard and videocard made for an AMD processor?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад

      You'll need an AMD motherboard for an AMD processor. If you're only using one graphics card, you can use an AMD or Intel motherboard.

    +EasyPcRepairs Hello, great video!! I'm am SUPER new to building PCs. I'm thinking of buying the parts used in this video and following along. However I want a beast pc, so how well does this pc play demanding games? If I upgrade the graphics card to the GTX 1070, would it fit in this build? Also it would make a difference in performance and such if I have this but not upgrade any of the other parts aswell? Will it run games at 1080p 60 or more fps? Sorry for all the questions lol

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад +1

      A GTX 1070 will fit into this computer with no problems. The gtx 1070 is definitely better than the gtx 970 so it would be a very good upgrade. This pc (with the gtx 970 or the gtx 1070) will play all games at 1080p with around 60fps.

    I don't know if you'll respond, but why didn't you wear some form of Static Wristband or something like that? I am not an experienced builder (I don't even have the parts for mine yet) but I've heard that you should. So, I just wanted to know the reason.

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  7 лет назад +1

      I ground myself regularly whilst building any computer, which means that I don't have to wear an anti-static wristband.

    Hello Quick question,
    In the video while you were installing the RAM, you said to use the red slots, is that a absolutely necessity? are you not allowed to use the black slots? thanks

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад

      Hi, the motherboard manual recommends using the red slots if you're only using two RAM sticks. The black ones would then be used as well if you have four RAM sticks. Many motherboards don't care where you install the memory, for example, using the black slots only is often fine. But some motherboards are more particular and won't even start up if you don't install them just how they like it.

    I am thinking about building my pc for first time, since I fly MS Flight Simulator-Steam Edition which causes lag on my current Asus ROG laptop... but, what is confusing me the most is, there are so many of these cases such as iBuyPower, CyberTron etc... do these parts come standard sizes to be able to fit into those shells regardless of which company's shell I try to get? or every single type of pc shell case have different requirements for hard drive, processor, ram etc to be added? I have been very confused in my attempt to understand that part. If I buy a new computer it will be pricey enough and prebuilt still won't meet all requires for my current needs... and, what if I get a cyberpower or such company's desktop that's not too fast to save costs, will it be upgradable in the long run? Such as if I get one w/ 4GHz processor and 1TB hard drive and then in the future a new processor comes around, will I be able to upgrade a new processor in the one I will be using with then older processors etc?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  8 лет назад

      +Esoteric Desi Just about all desktop computers are upgradable. The bigger the case size, the more upgradable it will be. Hard drives are a standard size so you can always upgrade your storage space. Graphics cards are often upgradable in desktop PCs but small cases will limit your
      options for that. If you want to buy a pre-built computer that is upgradable in the future, I would recommend one that has an ATX case or
      an E-ATX case as they have a good amount of room for extra / upgraded parts inside them. But be aware that some pre-built computers are very limited to their upgradability as they can use proprietary parts that's only any good for their products. There are many companies that will build a pc for you that are very upgradable though, so that would be my recommendation.
