Well, there are more or less two varieties of “difficult” battles, there are the ones in which the success rate is low and ones that actually require good decision-making beyond the initial strategy. Yakumo, the Ishtar battle I did with minimal cheese with 4 press turns, and Zeus are all up there as bosses that cover both categories and are the toughest. There are others that I could mention but those are probably the toughest. Also, it’s worth noting that Zeus isn’t always as challenging as seen here, in this attempt it was almost like everything that could go wrong did go wrong but somehow it wasn’t enough for me to lose.
@@Bucketgetter The fact that this battle can happen with Zeus honestly does prove that he's really difficult as the same could probably have happened with Ishtar and it technically did happen with Yakumo. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this but Panta Spane is such an SJR skill it's honestly kinda insane. They literally just took Daunting Maul from Ishtar and threw it onto Zeus
Zeus really just on a spree of killing about as many women as he did in his mythos (Honestly it's kinda hilarious how much the multihit of madness gleam and his general attack patterns hone in on them like a ballistic missile, I have to imagine there's some level of intent there)
I assume it's the case of all the attempts where the Nahobino got targeted a lot by brave blade being unsuccessful attempts and therefore filtered from the final one.
Honest to God this fight at lv53 is so fucking insane. Even with Resist Physical Panta Spane and Brave Blade do shit loads to the party. Madness Glints itself does almost 500 on a double hit and then him following up with Impalers is awful as I actually had to bring out Kannabi Veil so everyone can survive boosted Maziodyne into basic attack. Keraunos popping out of nowhere can be catastrophic especially when I've lost my endures.Oh yeah and it's almost double the length of the fight here, classic level disadvantage It's absolutely insane how much more difficult Zeus is in comparison to Odin and Vasuki. And his second battle is even harder so looking forward to that Edit: I gotta give credit to this fight though on my first playthrough. He's the first one where I decided to use the bucketgetter special so hell yeah
Zeus being lore accurate by being a piece of work haha. Madness glint drives me up the wall, so many full team confusions at the last legs of the fight and once i got hit by a back to back keraunos...
If this is what Zeus is like for the first battle then I dread what it will be like to deal with this and more in the endgame battle, probably the scariest battle in the game for sure.
@@aly3392 Oh my god yes, that dekunda script is evil. He pretty much hard-punishes you for even dare trying to give yourself an edge over him. At the very least he doesn't have dekaja, so you're not entirely hopeless.
Yeah Zues is probably in My Top 3 for Hardest Bosses in this game (Maybe Top 2 if we dont include DLC Fights) Man just has so much tools at his disposal and it's pretty unreal, he's also easily the Coolest Bethel Leader, at least in his design.
I honestly don't think there was a single fight I had ANY difficulty with in my entire playthrough besides shiva, and that held me up for at least a week and 20 levels of grinding for beelzebub Didn't buy any of the dlc though
Ah yes, I remember strolling up to Zeus with my Odin team, expecting a similar battle. lol And in the no-demons run this boss is unreasonably difficult to play around. You can't null phys and elec or else he will spam Madness Glint, so phys resist+elec drain is the way to go, but that opens you up to Phanta Spane's debuffs. Nulling phys with Arahabaki essence and resisting elec is not worth it either because his almighty spam seems to greatly increase. And probably the worst parts are the fact his ailments are nigh-impossible to block and Abyssal Mask is your best option, and that Critical is the only Magatsuhi skill available which is generally not useful because of his ailment shenanigans. The only saving grace is that Elec drain makes for such good healing you barely need Diarahan, which was kinda funny. Now back to the marinated chicken I mentioned in the Vasuki video to calm myself down.
@@aly3392 Yeah, there is so many more ways Zeus' fight can go sideways compared to the other two it's crazy. Like Zeus out here being more annoying with his status effect skill then vasuki lmao. It's like they took vasuki and odin, mix them in a blender, and cranked it up to 100 this fight.
@@aly3392 I'd say Odin is the best boss of this batch simply because his design is actually fun. Vasuki's gimmick is cool but he uses such weak attacks that he needs 4 press turns (and wastes them all on spamming different ailments that don't even stack like in IV). If Hystirical Slap and the like had heavy/severe variants and if he had Nocturne Sui-Ki AI where he will murder the ailment target above all else, it would be much more channeling and the fight would be focussed around ailment management. Zeus ironically does this better than Vasuki now that I think about it.
@@muddak3292 I've also realised how weird it is that Vasuki doesn't have Dream Fist, considering that it's the most extreme out of the phys skills which increase in damage with Ailments. Give Vasuki Impalers on top of that to bypass cheesy Null phys users and he'd be a good fight
