Easy to install, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxjA-hDN2m8_mi0Dg0JD8U6QiArozIAc4I and comfortable. No idea what other people were talking about when they said it was difficult to install or uncomfortable.
Great system . Maybe a bit close to the side wall . My gf likes to go reverse cowgirl on these so she can clean the erm , flange .
I was watching this with my girlfriend and our jaws dropped when you said people in the UK don’t like looking at braided pipes 🤔; because apparently they like looking at exposed heating system pipes everywhere, while in the rest of Europe they go a long way to hide them inside walls etc 😁
Brilliant!!! You don’t have to hold the Mrs’s hair out the way when she’s had a few to many, she can wash it as well now. Top video James.
😂
It's the three sea shells!! 😄
Just a brilliant solution. I've wanted a bidet but have no room for a separate toilet and bidet, this solves the issue.
Top stuff!
Great video James, never really used one other than when I was a kid. My mum and dad had one and I never really knew what it was for lol
James you are the Plumber King 👏👍🤝
Great vid as usual. Can't say I'd like to have to change the seal on the flush valve for one of these 😂
This was a really helpful video. Worth noting on other models it's similar but not the same - mainly the M12 rod lengths need to be significantly longer and none of Vitra's technical drawings reflect the actual pan dimensions. The rods need to be approx 12cm.
Apart from that other things we noted, it's worth checking the valve feeds are done up - on the one we fitted they were not.
They have made some models top mounting - which sounds great but in reality the holes don't line up and the single Allen key will get stuck. We stripped and damaged the mounting kit and a new one is a month wait from Vitra - waiting on a "Fischer 551883" which looks to be the same part (on amazon) along with one from Victoria plumb which actually uses a captive nut rather than a grub screw in glass fibre nylon... would have preferred to have just used a nut at this point.
Hopefully we can get this on the wall soon...
All that said Vitra should be paying you royalties as this video is far better than any of the 'loose' instructions that were provided. Thank you.
so cool the coloured lightning! and the rest of the video.. as i now have a vitra nest toilet i welcome your video very much. best from berlin, germany
I am gonna buy an addressable RGB strip to pimp my dunny, thanks James!
You had RGB computers, now get ready for RGB toilets!
how does it comply with backflow regs as its below the spill level?
Hi! The spill over is at the highest point within the seat, it then discharges within the rim of the WC :)
@@VitrABathrooms1 What they said!
Hi James, do they do a floor standing version of this at all or one with a semi concealed cistern that can go on to a toilet unit?
Looks amazing and like the fact no electricity going to it.
Hi Raf, we are working on this for next year! In the mean time we do have a glass concealed cistern case that can be retrofitted for wall-hung pans, see: www.vitra.co.uk/flushing-solutions-flush-plates/frames-cisterns/concealed-frame-systems/vitrus-glass-concealed-cistern-sku-770-5770-02/
Can't wait for the MATT BLACK bidet flush handle to arrive !!!
Hi James I have recently done my bathroom and fitted a wall hung toilet and instead of a bidet I have fitted a bidet shower incorporating 2 check valves so I can control and settle temperature 🌡
Excellent video and I’m certainly going to fit one of these before long. The only obvious question that you didn’t really address when demoing the flush is this: can it cope with the Captain’s log?
Only pulling your leg. You presented this well.
@plumberparts can you make a video for installation of bidet seat to a wall hung toilet. If you could it would be really helpful?
20:13 - would you put a bead of silicone along the back as the porcelain looks a bit wavy against the wall?
Yes mate! Everytime.
bidet and "rimless"... oh comedy gold 👌
Great vid James as always. Keep up the good work. Looks like a good system especially with the side mixer.
what a perfect installation James stay safe.
Cr@p ! Just installed a wall hung toilet which is great BUT really need on of these instead 🤔 . Could you not have done the video a week ago lol. Great video btw 😁
Next time! ;)
“Can get to everything if there is a problem” the mind boggles
Is an air gap acceptable backflow prevention on a high risk fixture?
Hi Sam, the integrated air gap protects the household supply of drinking water in accordance with the EN1717 regulations :)
Very tidy installation. Good job👍🏻
hi,
if you have 2 bathrooms separated by only standard 100mm stud wall, how would you recommend installing these back to back?
I want one!
I always thought I had to plug myself into the Bidet taps to get a cleaner rim
Question for everyone: if you got shit on your hand, would you just wipe it with paper till it looked gone?
Hello James, I need your advice.
I have a waste on my bath that leaks after a while from the waste. I think its caused by movement of the waste because of flex in the bath near the waste. Should I just get some wood and chok it up near there.
Love the idea and the look but in the uk most older walls are brick built. So to install one of these would mean adding a stud wall to the existing. Considering the unit itself is around £500-£700 plus the additional work of frame and finish. It’s a very expensive bidet !
Hi Cian! We do offer a version that can be retrofitted and doesn't need a stud wall - see here www.vitra.co.uk/flushing-solutions-flush-plates/frames-cisterns/concealed-frame-systems/vitrus-glass-concealed-cistern-sku-770-5770-02/ :)
Answering this in the next video!
With these Fisher retainers, they have a spring that snaps behind the shaped
studs barbed portion, so how do you get these released to remove the pan?
Master at work.
I’ve always been intrigued by the bidet. But how do you dry yourself? Surely you’re going to be pulling your pants up only to end up with a soggy bottom? I have a vision of my houseguests drying their ringpiece on my hand towels? What am I missing?
Usually use toilet paper to dry which is flushed away
@@rafmo7413 thought one of the ideas here was to not use toilet paper. James certainly says so.
@@mickyork41 totally agree, but how else do you dry, its the only logical way. I mean I even wipe first then use water then more paper to dry.
Unless one of those japenese toilets which has a dryer in it.
James, sort this out mate. We need one that’s a toilet, bidet, and dryer too. Maybe it could also apply some powder. Or Sudocrem?
With mine I use an old bath towel that has been cut up and stitched to make small towels or these reusable towels..www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293695566108.. Just have a small bin like they do abroad for your paper and the towel can then be washed.
Shame vitra don't make this model in back to wall unit
Could you use a Geberit concealed cistern and frame r is it best to stick with the Vitra one?
Would you not need to run the bidet for a moment till the water runs warm? I've tried the hose bidet attachments on holiday and thought it was a much greater idea than tp. But the water temps here in the UK are quite a bit colder. Haven't taken the dive yet.
I could not help noticing the gaps along the backboard., Is that backboard glued, and fixed or just standing there for a showroom set piece.Usually, there is a thin mastic line to cover any gap. apart from that what a fabulous piece of plumbing equipment just brilliant James,
Hi Peter! I'd usually silicone the gap, but was removing the set and didn't want to ruin the loo - I'm fitting it at my house, which I will film, in the near future!
@@plumberparts Thanks for the reply its always nice to get one especially from you Because you must be the busiest plumber in the uk, and you seem to be all on your own, cheers.
@@peterryan7827 I’ve got the Mrs and the cat...! 😂😂😂
Can the unit be placed higher up the wall?
Thanks for the video. Need some advice. Anyway, I can contact you?
That's all good if the hot water is instantly available. The first few seconds will make you jump.
Great job, looking forward to the next 2 installs 👍
the future :)) I am 41 since I was born we had it in Turkey. It should be mandatory for all new toilets, it could end the wetwipe blockage saga in UK
Wash the butty, wash the butty. Where's the soap dispenser?
How can that be legal if the toilet is blocked and water gets back to the main Cold? Spoke to WRAS, they said it’s not allowed unless the water is coming from a separate storage. Could you please clarify?
Hi Subash! The fixture includes an integrated 50mm air break that doesn't allow any back flow. If the toilet were to be blocked and water were to enter the WC, it would spill out of the WC and not enter the water supply.
Using one of these must feel like bliss.. and not to mention how much one can save on toilet paper
glad you didn't demo it like you do with showers 😂😂
Just when you thought it was safe to stay awake.....zzzzzzzz
What a PITA! Still, you can always use it as a drinking fountain.........
Anyone know a good supplier for this toilet/bidet?
Do these come with the opposite side handle aswell
ian sloan If you need something both sides to strain against it's probably time to look at adding more fibre to your diet.
Thats a lot of trouble just to wash your Feet シ ☻
On the final reveal why no smoke machine? Disappoint 😔 😂
Haha!
Hi
I am preparing myself to retake the ACS exam I’m just wondering whether anyone could be so kind and provide me with any mock exams, I would be very thankful
Thanks
Sam
What a joke not like to see flexi pipe... but Uk People love to see all the waste pipe, heating pipe and everything else running around the house with that soldered joint everywhere and glued nasty abs waste... . 🤭 Anyway nice toilet.. 👍
That comment really got to you 😅
@@PaulSmith-pr7pv Yeah 😂 If in UK start using press fit and MLCP in wall and heating on Manifold then i will understand... 👍
Kornel K. you fail to grasp that most of our houses have solid masonry internal walls and predate indoor plumbing by many decades. Concealed in wall piping is fine- if your house is made US style from matchwood, staples and tar paper or whatever other cheap shite it is they use to build those TV set style homes.
@@spencerwilton5831 what what? Please search houses in Hungary... all House In Hungary made solid brick, no shitty wood at all, and yes UK house is a matchwood as well, we not using Plasterboard or any type of wood at all. 🤭 and Still everything concealed.. tidy MLCP with no connection, if any use press gun fitting. 👍
Bidets are very good for washing you Cauliflower in ...
No good if the hot water takes too long to get through 😬
First 👌
Yay!
I would have been first, but I was on the loo and I am currently suffering with constipation.
👍🤓👍
the real question is - could a human break this by being too heavy and sitting on it
2nd! 🔥🙏🤙
Nice job, definitely not a job for an average plumber.
Served this guy breakfast , not very nice , I was a fan before.
Everyone has an off day, mate.
When was that then?
Stansted Windmill!!! Sorry if I was a grumpy gut!
