    Good video. I have an almost identical bidet, possibly manufactured in the same factory and then a different brand (DIB) applied, which I think is a common practice. My remote is identical in shape, layout and functions; only the colours of the markings is different. The wand/nozzle being stainless steel (as opposed to plastic) is a bonus. For the price, the range of features is good. I got it last year a month or two before the pandemic started, having given my parents one a couple of years ago. I wish that I had bought one earlier. I was fortunate to have a power point nearby. As you say, it's hard to go back. Absolutely brill. Happy washing!

    So glad you did it with that type of toilet flush.
    Trouble we have is our loo is connected to very old pipes...Probably need a Plumber & Sparks as we have no additional electrics in the bathroom.
    Good vlog💜❣️💜

      Thanks for the comment. It’s absolutely brilliant! I find with experience it’s best to use a little toilet paper first, then use the wash feature. Lovely to sit down on a heated seat too! Amazing how quickly you get used to the luxury of having one of these fitted. I definitely wouldn’t go back!

      Nick's Projects isn't RUclips a fascinating World.!
      I came to your channel find out how to put a microwave in to my van camper conversion (great info TX), and I've ended up, equally fascinated and entertained with your Japanese toilet seat...🤗
      Hmm, The money I currently spend on moist toilet tissues X 2 bathrooms, would probably buy one of those rather ingenious, hygienic, eco-friendly loo seats, within a year..🤔
      Great entertaining, informative content, thanks.

    I certainly DID have to use a wrench to nip the connectors tight. Must be the arthritis in my hands! Water seeping everywhere :(

    Hi, could you advise if the seat is able to stand a person sitting on it? Some are not. Thanks a lot.

    Is seat warmed all the time, or only when you sit on it?

    • @NicksProjectsUK
      @NicksProjectsUK  3 года назад

      You have the option of temperature levels and always on or only on when you sit on it. I keep it on constant low.

    Does your toilet need to be next to your sink to get hot water? Thanks

  • @MoistOwlette

    What if your toilet doesn't have a screw piece at the bottom? I have 2 pipes leading into the toilet, one plastic on leading into the wall on the left, and one metal pipe on the right leading into the ground.
    I got one of those manual ones that you spray yourself and I'm a bit lost on how to install it.

    Does it use the existing cistern to flush or is it made redundant?

    • @NicksProjectsUK
      @NicksProjectsUK  9 месяцев назад

      The cistern still operates the flush and works completely separately from this unit.

    what about when your toilet is other end of the room to the sink, with a bath in between? I would have to put a hole in the wall to get power from the bedroom but no idea how I would get water to it.

    Good work Nick.
    Does the seat wash/spray unit warm the water? Assuming this is the case if you tee'd off a cold feed but just wanted to double check.

    • @NicksProjectsUK
      @NicksProjectsUK  3 года назад +1

      Yes, it’s a cold water feed, but there’s an element within the seat that warms up the water. You can adjust the water temperature using the panel too.

    Hi nick, I've never seen one of your videos before. Glad I've watched this. I also went to Japan a few years ago and I loved the toilets and have been inspired to get a Japanese toilet in my home. I had no idea it was just the seat that does all the work and nothing in the pan. Do you think this is a retrofit for existing loo pans or do you think all Japanese toilets are like this? I'm planning on ripping out my whole bathroom and buying everything from new, do you know if there are different options if you're buying from new rather than retrofit or do you think this attachable seat is how it's done no matter what?

    • @zaptorzim
      @zaptorzim Год назад

      Very late comment but the seat one is just a cheap way to get the toilet without having to pay up thousands. If you want a toilet with the function it will not be just the seat. There you have for example Geberit aquaclean and other alternatives ^_^

    For anyone that will run into this problem, UK electrical regulations require it to be hooked up to an RCD unit external to the bathroom. So you kind of have to get creative in ways of how to do it. Typically the plug and connection are not supposed to be in the bathroom. If you want to look it up the closest thing to this would be installing a whirlpool bath, and the electrics are pretty much the same.

    • @NicksProjectsUK
      @NicksProjectsUK  3 года назад

      Interesting. Thanks Chris. We have a whirlpool bath in our main bathroom and that has an external fused spur switch, so I just copied the same method. I guess this could be swapped out with an RCD switch.

      A fuse is all that's needed as far as installation, if your house already has RCD protection at the breaker (fuse) box.
      If you don't have RCD on your house and want to be cheap, and/or keep the scope down to a single project, you can get 1 gang fused RCD plates suitable for this.
      However I would strongly advise having RCD protection for your house, as it's the biggest electrical safety improvement since fuses. RCD protection is required for all circuits in new installs - some electricians even argue that dual RCD 'split load' breaker boxes don't comply with language used in the regs, and that every breaker should be an RCBO (combined breaker/MCB and RCD).

    See you completely ignored EN1717 CAT5 requirements for the water supply that are designed to stop contaminated water getting back into your drinking water supply in the house. Hope you’ve not got sick from your toilet seat.
