Very fine, thin (see-through) hair + cornstarch-based baby powder works so well. The silky cornstarch is the right amount of "grit" for finer hair and is easier to work into dark hair. To avoid white splotches, shake the powder onto your hands then apply to roots. Better yet, apply some at night and it's not as obvious in the morning but still absorbs oil.

When you are out of dry shampoo, baby powder and bicarbonate soda it's a winner (but bicarb will remain grainy in the hair and itch if you have dermatitis like me) the cocoa just helps get rid of the white film baby powder or cornstarch can leave on your hair

I did strict curly girl method for a few years and an approved DIY dry shampoo was tapioca starch/tapioca flour and cocoa powder if you have darker hair. I stopped using the cocoa powder when I realized I smelled so much like chocolate, it wasn’t pleasant as much as I love chocolate. I tried it with just tapioca starch and it worked just as great. Just have to work a little harder to get the white cast to go away. Dry shampoo hack though-apply it the night before if you know you’ll need it. The starch will have absorbed the oil overnight and you won’t feel so dry shampooey.

    'Just take a shower!'
Me: I'd love to, but not when it's -20 outside (like right now) and I have to head out in 30 minutes, and my hair takes 40 minutes to dry with the hair dryer lol. Have you ever had literal icicles instead of hair? No fun! :D

I hate to burst your bubble but thattwist flat iron curl that you think you created I learned back at cosmetology school in 2000. So it was being done long before that.

I'm not on tiki Tok but I like the flat iron hack. I must have missed it on your other videos but I'm going to try it!

Yes! I made a Tik Tok video once of a makeup routine, and I couldn’t leave it up!! I felt like a dinosaur. 😆 And I have been using your curl with a flat iron hack since the original publishing. OG!

Could you do a video for short hairstyles for the gym? I recently cut my hair and have trouble keeping it back.

I use cornflour and cocoa powder for a dry shampoo. It works really well.

I love dry shampoo but if I'm staying at a friend's or family's and haven't packed dry shampoo - I'm always able to find talc in a cupboard somewhere and substitute with it! An oldie but a goodie.

Don’t worry I never forgot you showed that technique back in 2016! I still share that with friends and then give you all the credit 🤗
