I have one of those I bought about 2 years ago still in the box. One of these days I'll get around to sending it somewhere and get it tuned up right with an echo board . Good looking radios , thanks for posting 👍
RT 401 turn gently fully clockwise for full mod and the vertical coil with the slug in it at the back by the final turn it in or (does not matter which way, it is inductance) out until you get your desired low power setting

I have one of those Uniden 980 ssb rigs with the all led front or whatever you call it.They do talk and recieve good but im not a big fan of the front screen.I already ,in less than a year sent it back because the bottom half of the screen didnt work. Uniden replaced the radio but ,will see. 73's 514 Ontario Canada
I have not played with this radio, however I bet you dial down the DK and crank the modulation and it will swing like a Monkey. MoS FeT Finals ya know.... I found my 68, when I get some time I will fart around with it. Stay Tuned.. Cheers

Have you found a way to do a swing kit on these style board yet? I have the 68 ltx I would like to have a lower dk to drive a amp

No IMO the rig was great out of the box. Just turned up the audio.
I just bought one brand new. I get no static and cant hear anything out of it
