Based on miyazaki's recent interviews, multiple developers at fromsoftware are currently working on their own games and miyazaki himself confirmed that he's working on something, he also Said that he and the team are interested in doing games with a similar combat system to sekiro and probably bloodborne
They are also still hiring mech artists
I believe that the teams at fromsoft are working on multiple different games simultaneously
So i have no fears when it comes to variety

Yeah I figured AC had it's own separate team since they seemed pleased with 6's performance and from the sounds of it we'll get more AC in the future so I'm very happy about that. Will def be interesting to see what the next souls/borne/sekiro game is like, I know I said I'd be more excited for souls/borne but even if it's like Sekiro I'd still be excited, it's one of the reasons I like Fromsoft so much, everything they try or touch, i just end up liking to some degree

I think it would be cool to see a semi open world about the size of Limgrave probably a bit smaller with the interconnectedness of Dark Souls between various parts of the map, maybe with some of Bloodborne's aesthetic, I also think it would be fun to see gameplay that mixes concepts from Sekiro and Dark Souls having attacks that you can and can't deflect, maybe add kinds of attacks that can only be deflected or something along those lines so the player can't just rely on rolling and has to adapt to account for the need to deflect, I don't know though I ain't a game designer just started think and came up with this probable mess

I think that interview where Miyazaki says he wants to make a more abstract game coupled with the ancient ruins of rauh plus the swords of light and darkness are pointing to one clear direction.
Miyazaki wants to make a game like ico and shadow of the colossus. It's what got him into the gaming industry in the first place.
But this is for the Miyazaki game. Yui and yamamura might be each making a new game. These can be: a new dark souls like game, a new Bloodborne like game (the Sony exclusive for the PS5), a new sekiro like game or new IP.

"It's insane how some of my favorite IPs in all of gaming right now are just From Soft games."

I think going back to older comcepts they had for dark souls and bloodborne with pretty much the best interconnected world and trick weapons would be amazing

@@Actual_real_ValStrax I would love that but would imagine we'd see something Bloodborne 1 related (ps5 or Pc port/remaster/remake) before that

I think a game centred more on magic would be great. more ranged attacks would be cool.

Open world games have me burnt out atm and now I just want a game I can quickly hop in and do something fun without politics every corner.

I know Miyazaki has given good reasons why, but maaaan... Kings Field would be so awesome. Or at least a new ip that is that kind of dungeon crawler. Given how games like Darkest Dungeon have come out I think gamers would welcome something like that.

Yeah i think Fromsoft have built up a vertitable reservoir of goodwill, and if they have a separate internal team for something completely different I can't imagine too many people would be upset about that, and even if they are for whatever reason, normally ire in this industry lasts until your next big hit... and it's fromsoft so that one is just inevitable

I personally think Souls Games stories and balance felt better in the linear games. I hope the next game is not completely open world, but rather, like the first half of DS1 (pre anor londo) where you have a couple split paths to take and they're all really well connected, makes you feel like you're playing a metroidvania sometimes. Give us a big, big map/world, but without it being 100% open. But make sure it's very well interconnected. My biggest issue with ER is the lore/boss figths. Lore and story felt really bad comapred to Dark Souls, and boss fights/balance are subpar, it feels they focused way too much on the visual aspect and forgot the balance. Every boss now is just a huge dude with attacks and effects that clutter your screen, just a spam of visual effects, making it really tough for us to see properly and making it demanding on the PC/console to run. Also their damage is really weird, you have 60 vigor and is still 2-3 shot by end game bosses. Why level vigor then? Just pump it all into STR or INT and do these one-shots builds. Which sucks, cause it skips the entire fight. But unfortunately thats what happens. Why would I go for 60 vig if I'm still - 3 shoted, and can barely fight properly because there SO MUCH visual clutter on the screen with overly excessive effects and stuff. Can't see or understand anything going on. The performance drops caused by it is just the cherry on top. Also, open world made them have to overly rely on reusing the same assets, due to the size of the map and the need to fill it up. 90% of the catacombs/caves/dungeons feel the same. The bosses are repetitive and the rewards are most of the time, subpar at best. Yay, another copy and pasted catacomb with the same stone gargoyle enemies, same bosses and the reward is... A lackluster spirit summon. Great. It makes the game drag unnecessarily. I feel like they should go for Quality over quantity, now that they gathered a huge amount of new player with ER. Just do a DS - ER hybrid, with the Bloodborne combat and weapon creativity + mystery and eldritch secret stuff and motif on the story. I'm 100% sure they can do it, they've done only amazing games so far, even the ones I like the least are still miles ahead of other companies top titles. I hope we see that good stuff moving on.
