    A question, your disclaimer 'This video is for entertainment and informational purposes ONLY and should NOT be considered legal advice. Is it a 'terms of use' thing?

    Professional liability, Error and Omissions insurance is important too, esp if you work from home and don't need the general liability policy.

    I wanted to ask if Im writing my blog, and the topic's information I have is copyrighted under a brand's name, can I use it? Like i wanted to write about the economic perspective of mental health and i got an article written by WHO and got it copyrighted, can i use the information? Also, if I have opinions on a topic and that same opinions some else has it in their blog, can i still write it?

    How soon into our blog should we create the legal pages? Since we are giving advice, couldn't we get sued without them?

    I am an undergraduate law student and I am creating my own blogging website. I want to have a legal section in there as well but I am kind of scared and don't know where to start and what issues to write about first. I am not the most experienced person therefore, if you have any suggestions on topics that's not too complicated and may make people interested to read please share. I would be grateful for that.

    This video says legal issues but neglects using of photos for design blogs (discussion of; ed purpose) which is one of the trickiest ‘fair use’ vs ‘can i use to talk about?’ And most common topics

    Will I have to do anything special when writing about products that I like ? Or possibly posting pictures of those products on my blog?

    • @jimhart
      @jimhart  5 лет назад +3

      It depends. If you purchased the product yourself, probably not. But if you were given the product with an expectation that you will give an endorsement, then you will. Here is what the FTC endorsement guides say:
      "I’m a blogger. I heard that every time I mention a product on my blog, I have to say whether I got it for free or paid for it myself. Is that true?
      No. If you mention a product you paid for yourself, there isn’t an issue. Nor is it an issue if you get the product for free because a store is giving out free samples to its customers.
      The FTC is only concerned about endorsements that are made on behalf of a sponsoring advertiser. For example, an endorsement would be covered by the FTC Act if an advertiser - or someone working for an advertiser - pays you or gives you something of value to mention a product. If you receive free products or other perks with the expectation that you’ll promote or discuss the advertiser’s products in your blog, you’re covered. Bloggers who are part of network marketing programs, where they sign up to receive free product samples in exchange for writing about them, also are covered."

    Hello Hawthorn. If I have a personal blog and youtube channel and am getting some money from it. Is it possible for me to move them to a LLC?

    Your video is filling in quite a few blanks for me. My thoughts were to start with a sole proprietorship in the beginning, then move to an LLC once it starts to generate a decent cash flow. What are your thoughts on this?

    Great content; thank you. I created a blog and I will soon be offering paid service. I will soon open a business bank account and sign up with Stripe. Do I need to register with state or the USPTO or any other entities at this point, or is it OK to wait until after I make a few bucks? I know; no legal liability on you for your answer. Please, let me know, thank you.
