  • In this video, I share my personal body progression since I started training ONLY with kettlebell and bodyweight exercises from home. Prior to this, I was a routine gym-goer, following typical bodybuilding or strength-based programs. A few years ago, I decided to workout from home but didn't want to spend a lot of money on equipment.
    I hope this video can give you an idea of what kind of physique is easily attainable without having to follow some crazy diet or workout program.

    You look like a REAL natural and healthy person and not like an roided Comic Book character. The internet needs more of that!

    Another interesting video, thanks. You weren't in bad shape to start but think your recent pics shows excellent shoulder and back development and generally looking solid all round. Personally, I love the snatch, double front squat and double clean and press.

    Hey Dessen, good video/explanation and impressive progression pictures. I have scoured youtube for hybrid kettlebell and calisthenics practitioners (there are so few - _ - only a handful) and your videos go a little bit more indepth with these combinations which is helpful. I noticed the same trend your described - most people end up getting a stronger posterior chain with a thick upper back and thicker shoulders/traps, if they also do either weighted or high rep calisthenics they end up getting wide back/lats and chest from all the push up exercises, and strong but lean legs unless they include very high rep squats or loaded/double kettlebell front squats with higher reps. The only thing I didnt notice getting any hypertrophy are glutes, I am guessing this is because while the kettlebell strengthens glutes it does not provide enough targeted muscle growth for glutes and the main focus of the calisthenics and kettlebell exercises is to increase strength and conditioning instead of solely muscle gains.

      Thanks man! You're probably right. But again, I think my approach to training doesn't really care if the glutes are not as big or whatever other muscles may not seem to be as big. The way I train is so holistic and is not concerned primarily with muscle hypertrophy (although some hypertrophy is bound to happen), but rather with the overall body health and fitness. You wouldn't tell a boxer that his glutes are not big enough because he doesn't care.
      If anything, maybe my message in this video is: hey check it out. I don't look that bad and I don't focus/care solely on muscle growth. Just do these things, forget about everything else, and stop complicating things.

    Very good advice on diet I did intermittent fasting and Keto no sweets pretty strict. Now I eat reasonable and some sweets feel much better.

    Kettlebell physique is the best physique man. I used to be a muscle bound gym rat THAT SKIPPED LEG DAY Lmao... my lower back always hurt, knees hurt...however my lifts were pretty strong. It got to the point where my mobility, flexibility, and cardio were extremely poor. I found kettlebells and never looked back. Only bodyweight training i really do is pull ups! I enjoy being more cut now and actually being able to move! I am also 29 now so what is the point in having a bunch of muscle mass anyway if you can't move or do anything with besides wearing a tight t-shirt for parties hahaha I miss the amazing pumps sometimes but getting my ass kicked by kettlebells everyday has been so much more healthy for me in the long run. I also encorporate restorative yoga so there is some body weight action going on there too.

    I think that barbell training can be built like kettlebell training in terms of exercise and intensity

    So many people discovered kettlebells during co vid.

    It is also sustainable. I train in a very similar way to you and I am still the same in my mod 40s as I was in my mid 30s, which is even better than through my 20s with heavy barbell training. I feel great.

    Hey what abt squats amd deadlift? Isnt the weight a little less for those movements??

    • @danielparadis5880
      @danielparadis5880 5 месяцев назад +1

      Double kettlebell work, split squats, and single leg deadlifts are great ways to increase intensity.
      Higher volume can also increase stimulus.
      Sure, a barbell with a lot of weight can fatigue you faster, but you can make kettlebells and calisthenics work

      I used to do heavy squats and deadlifts. But looking back, not sure why I did them other than just following the crowd.

    So with kettlebells you also train core and spine stability? That's what i need. A stronger core and back.

    • @bodyweightkettlebells
      @bodyweightkettlebells  4 месяца назад

      Yes. Many of single kettlebell movements will work your core and stabilizer muscles.

      @@michaelsmelt5218 Yes. Movements using only 1 kettlebell and 1 hand so they load your body one side at a time like single KB snatch, single KB clean, single KB carry...

      I bought from multiple sources. But here is one that I liked quite a bit. Pretty good price compared to others and the quality is not bad.
