    Can you please feature a series of recipe focused on the dishes available from the chap fan or Chinese mixed rice available in food courts and kopitiams in Malaysia and Singapore. I especially love how they do their version of red beans with eggs etc. Been trying to recreate it at home with no success 😢

      @@spicenpans baked beans with minced pork! Like those served at the economy rice stalls. Pls do a video on that. Kids & adulta love it with rice/bread/pasta & even over baked potatoes. I recall my mum used to cook that for me as a child, I would totally just only that with rice.

    Didn't realize it's this easy to make and not too many ingredients in the rempah. No need to buy ready made paste and I can control the level of spiciness and tartness too.

    Just would like to ask do u use tamarind paste with seeds and soak in water then strain it out or the already made tamarind paste without seeds available in small packets/jars?

      I think you meant tamarind (assam), not turmeric (the bright yellow root/spice-powder). Turmeric is a key ingredient in Curry Laksa, but not Mee Siam. Tamarind is a key ingredient in wet Mee Siam, though can be omitted from the dry version.

      It's an easily available in South East Asia, a dry shrimp season paste. Has a strong sent and flavor.
