You make the cooking of the difficult dishes so simple and easy to cook. Thank you very much for sharing. Next time, you should say Welcome to Spice and Pans. I am Roland :) We are just as blessed as your family as we got to see your cooking and to learn from you.
@@spicenpans tbh this is my first time eating this kind of fried vermicelli since my family is more accustomed to the normal spicy fried one. The smell is just amazing!
Can you please feature a series of recipe focused on the dishes available from the chap fan or Chinese mixed rice available in food courts and kopitiams in Malaysia and Singapore. I especially love how they do their version of red beans with eggs etc. Been trying to recreate it at home with no success 😢
@@spicenpans baked beans with minced pork! Like those served at the economy rice stalls. Pls do a video on that. Kids & adulta love it with rice/bread/pasta & even over baked potatoes. I recall my mum used to cook that for me as a child, I would totally just only that with rice.
Thank you very bro...for demo make me siam dry....can one more i ask you to you, what brand blender you use...look very strong and easy to make rempah...sorry and thank you very much... Because my family like eat at home...may God bless you and family...
Hi Roland, can the rempah paste be used for dry mee siam too? Cos i realised you have lemongrass stalk for the soup version... for better taste and fragrance?
Didn't realize it's this easy to make and not too many ingredients in the rempah. No need to buy ready made paste and I can control the level of spiciness and tartness too.
Just would like to ask do u use tamarind paste with seeds and soak in water then strain it out or the already made tamarind paste without seeds available in small packets/jars?
Not sure if anyone cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of days :)
Can you tell me what kind of food processor you use? My old one just broke and I was looking to get a new one, I really liked the one you used!! Great recipe
I think you meant tamarind (assam), not turmeric (the bright yellow root/spice-powder). Turmeric is a key ingredient in Curry Laksa, but not Mee Siam. Tamarind is a key ingredient in wet Mee Siam, though can be omitted from the dry version.
Can’t make this because can’t find belacan in Sweden. One request... when you’re trying the food at the end... perhaps don’t talk when you still have food in your mouth? It will sound and look better!

Hi Roland, can the rempah paste be used for dry mee siam too? Cos i realised you have lemongrass stalk for the soup version... for better taste and fragrance?
Hi Roland, for this rempah paste, am I able to make a big batch and store inside fridge or freezer?
Didn't realize it's this easy to make and not too many ingredients in the rempah. No need to buy ready made paste and I can control the level of spiciness and tartness too.
Yeah it’s pretty easy especially if you have a food processor at home.
Great recipe. Can I do without the belachan?
Just would like to ask do u use tamarind paste with seeds and soak in water then strain it out or the already made tamarind paste without seeds available in small packets/jars?
Hi Lilian. You can use either one. Happy cooking
Hi chef. Can i use fresh prawn as an alternative for the dried shrimp? Or is there any better alternative?
Hi, to confirm the weight of the bee hoon u stated is already soaked right? Not the pre soak weight right?
I ♥️ UR CHANNEL MR CHEF!!!!! CAN YOU MAKE CHAR KUEY TEOW NEXT???🙏
Hi Natural. Thank you so much!! Here’s our CKT recipe ruclips.net/video/1HtUfN4psf0/видео.html

Looked very delicious. Just when I wonder where Coco is, I think I heard her barking at 7:56 🤣👏
Hehehehe. She was behind the dog. This demanding bossy dog wanted to see Roland eat. 😆😆😆😆

Hi Z. The brand is Magimix. It’s made in France. A rare change from the usual made in China products out there. Happy shopping!
You have missed out turmeric, a key ingredient for Mee Siam. Otherwise, looks impressive.
Hmm. 👍👍👍
I think you meant tamarind (assam), not turmeric (the bright yellow root/spice-powder). Turmeric is a key ingredient in Curry Laksa, but not Mee Siam. Tamarind is a key ingredient in wet Mee Siam, though can be omitted from the dry version.
What can I replace tomato paste with if I don't have it?
16 yrs ago I always eat mie siam,,, but now in hongkong don't have mie siam
Now you can make mee siam in Hong Kong 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No chives can add spring onion. Tq
Yes can also. Happy cooking
Must try , I like with plenty of Taugeh...😍
How come you don't add bean sprouts?
👍👍👍
Thank you so much, Chenny:-)
What happens if i substitue tomato sauce for tomato paste
taupok for mee siam. tau gua for mee rubus..
I tried just now .. too sour for me may be i added too much asam add more bee hoon in the end
CovidImages need to be invested more than half19
什麼是belacan 啊?
It's an easily available in South East Asia, a dry shrimp season paste. Has a strong sent and flavor.
Thank you so much
Can’t make this because can’t find belacan in Sweden. One request... when you’re trying the food at the end... perhaps don’t talk when you still have food in your mouth? It will sound and look better!
