  • Saeco's newest addition to its Talea series of superautomatic machines features differences in case styling and an improved touch screen interface. Gail takes us through its features and makes a latte, as she is wont to do.

Thanks for all the Seattle Coffee Gear videos...Love 'em! Because of your videos and with some wonderful help from your customer service we replaced our old Solis Master 5000 Digital (9 years old, ordered elsewhere) with a Talea Touch Plus (refurb). So far, so very, very good.

hey Gail/Kat, i've also only recently, i.e. less than 2 months started making coffee and learning/practicing coffee art. find it best to tilt the cup a little and start pouring the milk from higher up, that way it breaks the surface of the coffee first without the foam setting on it. then after about half cup, bring the pitcher low, pour faster and wiggle! :) i'm a very beginner... just sharing what i'm learning. thanks for all the videos, very fun :)

The best 3D-effect on a peach thusfar! Keep it up, and you just may reach Monet's "Jar of Peaches" level of success!!!

@Warrenff5 Yeah - we just tease her because she lives north of the store so we say she might as well live in Vancouver (because the majority of us live south in the city.) - Kat

I bought one of these from you guys a few years ago and the screen just flashes rapidly. Any suggestions on the issue? Thanks!

I've had this machine for 4 years now, and it's been a mixed bag. It's been to the repair shop several times (the bad news) but it's typically been something minor. Today, though, the display says "close steam knob," but no matter how I turn it, nothing happens. Retail price when I bought it was $1700CAD, so I'm not impressed at having spent over $500 in minor repairs with a more complicated repair on the horizon.
Good espresso, lots of adjustments to the brew, and great steam ... not reliable or sturdy enough for the price.

I am not sure; I think so, but cannot confirm as we don't sell Gaggia so I couldn't test it for you. Sorry :( - Kat

There's not a particularly recommended brand of coffee, it's more about the freshness of the coffee. If you watch are video called What is Crema? we dive into this topic in depth. Let me know if you have any questions after watching that. - Kat

@SeattleCoffeeGear It wouldn't have surprised me if she did live in Vancouver, eh. Although I would be surprised if it were a 48 minute drive (more like 2 and a half hours)

I never knew Gail lived in Vancouver!
