Who ever that Pilot is deserves a raise

Pretty cool right? All Southwest pilots nail their landings. So cool to see!

A butter landing isn’t the most important part of a pilot’s job. There’s a lot more than you think that goes on in the cabin to keep the passengers safe, including but not limited to aeronautical decision, flight deck management, complying with published departure, arrival, and approach procedures, and following stabilized approach criteria. Plus the pilot unions already do their part to make sure pilots get their pay. No need to give a pilot a raise over a smooth landing

SWA has some of the highest published minimums for pilot applicants in the industry. Up until recently, you had to have 1000 as the PIC (Captain) of a FW Turbine A/C just to apply. Also, since SWA is a single fleet type, their pilots never transition to different A/C, so they tend to get very proficient. And SWA also stresses traditional stick and rudder flying skills, as opposed to a lot of other airlines who emphasize reliance on the automation. SWA pilots "fly" a lot more than most other airlines.

@@achmedbincouscous2846and also the fact that they mostly make short to medium flights, meaning they get to practice landings so many times in a month in comparison to long haul pilots. Plus a lot of the airports they fly into have short runways, keeping their skills sharp

@@highinthesky_yt Yeah, no problem! A good way to see which variant it is is to look at how many over wing exit doors it has. If it has two then it is an 800 if it has one then it is a 700. If it has two over wing exits and a door in between the aft exit and over wing, then it is a 900.
