- Yay! I finally have a kiln opening to share. I'm making progress with this long recovery process. If you've been following the last month of tutorials, here are the glaze results for some of the large stamped, free-form dishes and multiple size and nesting heart bowls. And if I do say so myself, the results are stunning! I used combos of Opulence Glazes, Spectrum, Amaco, Mayco, and Clayscape Glazes, and I share exactly how I applied them, the clay I used, and the cone I fired to.
Book recommend: The Kodiak Hero, written by my mom, B. Blanc, based on the true story of incredible heroism in impossible conditions and how one man saved six lives from a burning plane that crashed into the remote mountain range of Kodiak Island, Alaska in July of 1989. The day my first child was born.

Love the fire brick heart-shaped bowles .....
I LOVED EVERYTHING! The bowl you made your son was EPIC ! Also the PURPLE ONE !
I need to get that HEART MUG!! Or one of OUR MUGS
FEEL BETTER 🥰🥰💐 💐
Hi Tiffany I’m glad you’re healing and getting back into pottery. I loved all your heart bowls and my favorite glaze combo was the one on the large platter. It’s beautiful!💙😍
Your heart bowls are precious 🙏🏼
My favorite glaze combo is winter woods, firebrick with pearl white on the rim. I love the onion bowl idea and the paw vase. Thanks Tiffany, sending you complete healing vibes and hugs❤
Thank you. Yes, three Firebrick and WW is a winner!
my favorite piece was the gorgeous heart mug/syrup/creamer :)
I love the gravy boat so pretty!!
But those hearts red winter brick have stolen my heart 💗
Congrats on a gorgeous kiln fire
Thank you!! 😊
Such lovely pieces! ❤❤❤ love Love Love
Love all your pieces
Loved the plater for Tayt. And those heart bowls were beautiful.
Thanks. He loved it too. It's sitting on his dining room table.
love them all Winter wood and firebrick i think are my favs, I hope the pain eases soon
Thank you.
I think this should be a segway into a new channel, “Storytime With Tiffanie”! I love hearing you ramble, it’s not rambling, you’re fascinating! Love seeing you ✨shine! ✨Blick is my go-to for glaze! OMG! The purple bowl! 🥰 It’s gorgeous! The music you play speaks to my soul. Hang in there! 💜
Ahh, thank you so much. Yes, storytelling is a passion. I'm glad it's not annoying. You're getting the real me here. 😀 And the music is my composed by my son-in-laws sister. She's sooo talented.
@@hobblecreekpottery She sure is talented, it sounds like it was written just for you. Is it available to purchase?
@walkerpottery9296-Natalie It was written just for me. She's written me 3 now, and I own them. She put up a video of one of her songs where she's singing. It's a beautiful song. She's in college for music too. Try contacting her through her RUclips channel @melodyreid1854. I'll send her a text and let her know you might reach out. She's an artist and sometimes not so quick to get back to you. 😀
GOSH! Love those WW, FB & PW heart bowls! They...are...beautiful! Both platters are lovely! Thanks again for the share! I know what you mean about needing to create! Big twitches happen when I cannot. Stay well!
Exactly!
I've been looking for a red glaze so to see what you did with the heart bowls and firebrick glaze was inspiring. Thanks!
I happy your getting back to what you love. 🎉
Love the hearts
Beautiful!!!
Wonderful family stories! Glad to see you back in action and sharing your beautiful work. Would love to see how you did the mistake bowl.
You got!
Beautiful..
Loving the firebrick
Right!
Great to see you back and hope all goes well. Love the huge platter/ dish, but the winter woods firebrick combo is yummy.
The Winter Wood with the Fire Brick is beautiful. The purple is amazing.
Hi Tiffany, as each piece of your work came out of the kiln, each was my favourite. I make my own glazes as most potters do in Aussieland unless they slip cast or buy the pieces and paint the glazes over and usually only need one firing. The potters that buy clay by the bag either throw or hand build. Plus there are many other ways to make "pots".,as you well know.
I am trying to make pots, teach and make glazes to suit me, we fire to cone 9 in one kiln and cone 7 in the other.
Hope that you are well very quickly. Best regards Margaret
Ahh, thank you, Margaret. Your process sounds fascinating!
Hello, your enthusiasm with your students and your products are gorgeous. All of them I’ve done ceramics because I can’t I can’t work through clay but I sure want to see you do it
Thank you! My students constantly amaze me.
Hi Tiffinie, thanks for the shout out! I am glad you like the Scandanavian Blue too, it is my favourite dark blue at the moment. 😉I love it with Pearl white under. That big blue platter is beautifull!!! However, my favourite is the big bowl from the top shelf, soooo Boho!! L❤ve the colors! Might have to get that purple, hihi. What makes me happiest is seeing you back at it again, doing what you love to do most, please do take it easy sister! Hugs from Bonaire. 😘
Ahh, thank you, Monique. Yes, the big bowl has grown on me. It's definitely got a boho vintage vibe. My son and his wife loved the Scandinavian Blue. It's a keeper. Thanks for the inspiration.
@@hobblecreekpottery ❤️
Yay!! Thank you!! That was a great fix for my kiln opening addiction. Glad to see your doing a little of what makes you feel happiest. Favorite? Can't choose just one, but top of my list is your big Scandanavian Blue platter for your son. It's gorgeous with the seaweed & pearl white! Goes great with the textures. I also learned of Scandanavian Blue from Monique last year and fell in love with it. She also introduced Spectrum's Nori Green; it's really awesome as well. Would love to see how you made your "happy little accident" pitcher! But please don't overwork yourself. Listen to your knees, if you don't want to listen to your therapist! 😊 Warmest regards from New Mexico. 💜
Thank you, Joann. I'll look into the nori green. I've played with the cactus and I'm a huge fan.
Hello Tiffany. Nice to see you.
Love all the heart bowls ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the heart bowls...you're inspiring me to make them again! I sold so many with jpeacock technique on them at the first market I ever did, so they are a winner, people love them! Great save on the handbuilt batter bowl too...injenuity! I'm not hating the black spots on the lav mist heart bowls...I really like it and the heart creamer..wow! gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
Ahh, thanks so much. It was a great firing. Peacock heart bowls sounds amazing.
Love all your pieces. The heart bowls and mug are my favourite
Beautiful pieces all around!
Clayscapes has free shipping and I wanted to get some dipping glazes so I just ordered cream and their clear glaze. So this is perfect timing. Great kiln opening. That Deep firebrick combo is gorgeous.
The coastal blue is a favorite of mine too.
@@hobblecreekpottery I'll have to try that one.
I would be very interested seeing how you made a mistake turn into a beautiful bowl! My happy accidents have turned into some of my favorite pieces!
Exactly! Mistakes are just opportunities. 😀
All lovely pieces. The glazes are so vibrant.
Sounds like an interesting story your grandmother wrote. Ill have to have a read. Really love that firebrick red over the winter-woods. Star of the show I think.
Yes! That glaze combo seems to be the winner.
Great unload Tiffany! The firebrick combos are beautiful ❤. Thanks for the shout out! Glad to see you getting back into the swing of things
I'm sure trying. Thank you.
My favorite is the one you made for you son. It is just so beautiful.
Thank you. It was a hit with him too.
The glaze layer really suits the hearts, so glad for your total success again.
Thank you!
Beautiful 💕 you got this 😊
Thank you.
My very first glaze firing with my own kiln is cooling down now. It's only a bunch of test tiles and a few cups. I've gone in the deep end and am making my own glazes instead of buying commercial glazes, so I'm excited to see what I the 7 glazes I made did!
Ooooh, that sounds sooo exciting!
Woohoo You won Clayscapes Glazes!!! Jessica Putnam-Phillips just read out your name! Congrats! A tiny little bit of good Karma to ease the pain of your knee
Yes! You probably heard me squeal down under. 😆
😂 yup heard that echo around the world
Ohhhh, the big plates and the heart shaped bowls with the heart shaped pitcher are absolutely gorgeous and my favourites.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
You give me a lot of inspiration 😊
Greetz
Sheila
Thank you, Sheila!
@@hobblecreekpottery you are welcome ♡
I dont think I could pick a favorite. I loved all that you did! Maybe the light lavender heart bowls are my favorite color after your big bowl for your son. Gorgeous!!
It's exciting for me to watch your students talents grow as well. It's so neat watching them progress. Thanks for sharing their journey as well!
Yes! I get so much joy out seeing their successes. Thank you.
The “oops!” pitcher was very interesting both in the glaze and the rescue you made. I would like to see how you made it. As Bob Ross would say it’s a “Happy accident”.
Yes! Showing how I made that will be my next video. 😀
I love the firebrick heart bowls and pitcher. The top stampy bowl turned out way cool. Kind of like old lace. I also like what you did with the mistake bowl. Nice way to ‘fix it or feature it’.
Thank you! Yes, the purplish stamped bowl looks very vintage.
Patience isn't a virtue I possess, so I get your frustration regarding your progress! HOWEVER, please don't push too hard and mess up what you've fixed...hugs from Georgia!
Thank you. Yeah, patience is overrated.
As you are recovering your knee op, and I am looking at my second op. I am dreading it as I had problems (like you)but at least we do have a pool as soon as the scar is healed enough.
Oooh, I'm so very sorry. I'm begging for a pool. At this point, I think it's medically necessary. Unfortunately, my pocketbook doesn't agree. I do have the hot tub, which helps. But I'd love a pool. Praying everything goes smooth for you this time. 🙏
@@hobblecreekpottery You will have to migrate to Aus and put your name down for my retirement village. Thriving pottery club.
Great to see you again with the kiln openings! I need a gravy boat since I broke mine last Thanksgiving. Hope you show us how you made yours and provide the dimensions of the template you used.
I'm planning on it! Stay tuned. 😀
❤
@10:11 give seaweed under cobalt a try... it is so cool!, also @12:32, I cut my WW 1:1 with alabaster and still get all the crystals I want (and need!) and bonus, it cuts costs too :)
Great idea! Thank you!
I started watercolor. When my knees and shoulders are too painful for anything else I can still paint. It is addictive. I started just so I could paint with underglaze but it has taken over my free time. My knees don’t hurt while I paint.
We were just talking the other day while glazing of taking a watercolor class. I think it would really help to paint in pottery.
@@hobblecreekpottery it is addictive. I am loving watercolor. I take my 82yr old mom and she is having more fun than me. Take a class. Watch a video
I have tried Lavender mist but I have not been impressed yet, wonder what I am doing off (?) I loved the fire brick combo. Thanks for sharing. But in short.... I have loved all you work!
Ahh, thank you. I'm with you on the lavender mist. I think it's the brown undertones, but I do love it layered with other glazes.
I’ve always loved hearts and your heart bowls are really nice - as are the very large pieces. Since you asked, I’d love to see a video on how you made the “failed” bowl. Your tangents are always interesting. Did you just get your hair colored? I hope your knee takes a sudden turn to pain free.
Thank you, Mary. It's been about a month since I had my hair colored. I decided I needed more color, lol. I have some swipes of green in there now. 😋
Loved the glazes in this kiln! How funny that you've bought so many glazes in your downtime and then won glazes in the claysharecon giveaway! (Assuming there is only one potter with your name... There are multiple people in the US with my name... What are the chances any of them are also potters?)
Right!!! I was thrilled. I usually never win those things. I can't wait to try something new from them. I'll be set for awhile. 😀
God's goodness over you😮
Beautiful 🎉how did some of them not stick to the shelves? Is it a special type of shelf? Thank you 🌸
Yes, I use the Advancer shelves and nothing sticks. Just love them.
@@hobblecreekpottery wow that’s totally awesome! Glad to know that! Thank you 😊
@s.missizhippiew.1117 They are pricey, but sooo worth the money as I like to push my glazes to run, and I don't have to worry pots sticking to the shelf. They are also 1/4 of the weight of the standard kiln shelf. Since they are thinner, I can load more into the kiln.
@@hobblecreekpottery awesome!! 👍🌸thank you
Do you mind sharing the cone five slow cool please
I recommend calling Skutt. They were so helpful in walking you through it step by step. I learned so much from talking to them and it was easier.
What are the celadons on Savanna’s bowls?
Aren't they yummy! That is a single dip of Tim's Dark Celadon from Clayscapes.
