What a great tip using the sheet to smooth the edges. I started doing this with cut up t shirt and what a game changer. Thanks for the tip and nice to see you in your happy place!
One of my highlights of my week is seeing what you post…you are such a push it to the limits gal…I admire you for this and you truly are an inspiration to your clay community…take care ❤🇨🇦
I’m right there with you. I had my hip replaced end of November and I feel so much better but am still limited in what I can do. I have all this pent up desire to do all kinds of projects and feel huge frustration that I really can’t handle any of them yet. I gotta say with the cold gray weather and being unable to do what I want without lots of help I’ve been fighting depression. Hopefully, as I continue PT I’ll get stronger and stronger. The 1st part of recovery, after the major pain lessened, I saw so much improvement so quickly I was thrilled but now it’s the long haul of rebuilding bone and muscle that had been wasting away for years and I am not being patient about it. I want my life back! I bet you do too. We’ll get better and better and when spring comes we’ll be able to do so much more.
Gosh, I so hate to see you in pain! You are such a wonderful trooper and educator! This is a couple months past this video and so hope your pain has lessened a lot more. I too have been going through medical pain and here in Washington state with the cold rain and gloomy days , it doesn't help in the attitude department, so I know what you feel!!! God bless you and keep on playing, and, THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
The devotion you show to your channel and the hard time you give yourself do not go unnoticed. What a balancing act! You owe us nothing. We watch your channel because you appeal to us and teach us. However, you have a real life that is more important than this channel. Yet, because of who you are and your dedication to us, this channel, extra stress and responsibility is piled on. As for me, I will keep checking in, but if you are not there, I know you would be if you could be. Heal, recover, take your time. I suppose algorithms, sponsors and such as that put pressure on you to produce, but, those of us who appreciate the content of your videos and what we learn by watching, wish you well, wish for you to heal well and wish you to give yourself a break.
Ah, thank you. It's interesting how much I get out of sharing, and having the channel helps me push myself so that I can get into the studio more. It's actually been a blessing for me. But yes, if I need more downtime, I'll take it. Making pottery is the best medicine, for my mental health especially. ❤️
Omg I LOVE THE FEET AND THE TIP ON USING A TRIANGLE!! WOW. I make a lot of these and I usually don’t add feet because I don’t ever feel like I can get the feet even and they end up tipsy! Thank you so much for this video.
Greetings from Scotland (UK)! 😊 Can totally relate with the weather rain / cold. Thank you for your fabulous video. As always clear instruction and very creative. A couple of tips I've not come across before. Lovely to see you getting back into work, take it easy ❤
Like you, I love paisleys & everything purple! Thank you for the gentle reminder that we all need to be kinder to ourselves & everyone is going through something. You’re doing awesome Tiffany! Hugs for you! 🤗💜
Hi Tiffany. I have just recovered from Breast cancer, and now I have to have another knee replacement,do not know exactly when, but it will be this year. Your lovely bright and breezy youtubes I love and watch and re-watch all of your episodes. Having said that I whilst in recovery I am going to watch over and over your episodes. They really brighten my life.
Oh, Margaret, that means the world to me that in my little way, I helped brighten your day. Congratulations on kicking breast cancer's butt! I am very sorry a knee replacement is in your future, though. I'll be cheering you on and do your PT!
I totally understand about needed to work in the studio. Our mental health is so important. I am so glad and grateful to have clay. It’s hard when we have joint trauma and issues. Sending positive energy and healing thoughts
Hi, I'm happy you're up and running again. Your inspiration is endless. I was also at Clay Con West. It was great. Perhaps I get to meet you in the future at another event. Clay play on. Barbara Mora Wrightwood, CA
Thankyou Tiffany from Seagirl in Aotearoa New Zealand. Love your work. Learning from you, love the sheet and cornflour tips.... ty from a new Potter who also lives with pain. Pottery is such a happy place 🐬
I love the feet! I can't wait to try those! (Also making a note to go to the hardware store for a level). Take care of you (and those new knees) first. I think most of us are in the same boat. We check in to see if there's a new video as our own schedules allow. I don't think any of us think, "oh, it's Saturday at noon .. there should be a new video!" Point being, don't worry about the timing of your videos. Those of us who enjoy and appreciate your time and videos will continue to check in as time allows. Have a great week and hope you can sneak into the studio to play this week!
Hugs! As a fellow sufferer of knee pain when cold wet weather rolls in I feel what you are saying. I have become like my grandparents and can forcast weather changes now that I am in my 70s. It does limit our ability to move and it is frustrating not to be able to do what you want when you want.
I’m really glad you got to play in the studio! We all need playtime for our mental health. (I was walking in a crosswalk and was taken out by a station wagon so I completely understand your frustration.) The bowl is awesome! I’d like to know, though, where you get your rolling pins. I’m having a problem finding any.
Bonsoir j'espère que vous allez mieux maintenant je vous souhaite une bonne heureuse année 2024 je vous remercie pour tous les modèles que vous faites gros bisous de France
That piece turned out beautiful! Soooo big too. Looking forward to seeing it after it's glaze fired! Sorry to hear you're having a rough time with your recovery period being so incredibly frustrating. Patience is hard when you've got the drive to get things done!! Have you considered putting anti-fatigue mats on your studio floor? It might help a little with the stress of standing. I have a small one that I use when standing during hand building. It does make a difference for me; less foot, leg & back pain from standing for so long. But it's not a replacement for giving your knee enough time to recover properly, so take care not to overdo it! Thanks for sharing, Tiffinie!
I've thought of that, but I trip so easy that o didn't want to add another obstacle. But it's worth doing once I've got a bit more mobility. Thank you.
Thank you for the time and all of your ideas. So inspirational. So glad you are feeling better and recovering from your knee surgery. Would you list where you got your wooden stamps that you used on your bowl plus the triangle cookie cutter and size. Especially the two wooden stamps you used for the legs. Thank you again for all the information , time and dedication you give to your viewers. 😊💕
These new ones I found in a store, The Tilted Kiln, and the others I've had a decade or more. I'd look on Amazon and Etsy to start as I've found like stamps there before.
Yuk, horrible weather for you. I hope it improves for you soon. We have had 35deg C days (95deg F) here about four in a row. cooler today thank goodness, think I want to move to Alaska too! I really love those wooden stamps they give such a beautiful result. Nice to hear you are still moving towards a great recovery even if your weather made the new knees complain.
Great idea, I'm new to clay ,enrolled in a local community class ,best thing I've ever done, well watched this video this morning and recreated it at class!!! Fab can't wait to see it next week, any ideas with glazes or oxides
That's awesome! I still have another to glaze, and I can't decide either. Any oxide or underglaze wiped back would highlight the texture beautifully. I just can't decide myself which way to go, lol.
Would it maybe be a spring idea for you to create a garden fountain? Build in steps to get height. Decorate e.g. with flowers for the water to run down in a pattern? Decorations with butterflies, dragonflies, an engel ... 🦋☀️
I didn't weigh it. Just cut a good chunk off the block. But it's probably 8 to 10 pounds. For price, I'll have to see how it comes out, but it'll be 100 to 150 ballpark.
Good morning! I hope your not having to much pain today! I've been away doing other crafts. Im not a potter but i made three little items with air dry clay. So much fun! I have a question, when you don't fire a piece, what product can you use to seal it? I used decoupage and after drying it feels sticky to me. What should i use may i ask? Thank you !
Be patient with yourself and take it easy. After I had a hip replacement, it took me a year to regain my strength and muscles to full capacity. A knee is worse as it takes more pressure than a hip. Hang in there.
What a great tip using the sheet to smooth the edges. I started doing this with cut up t shirt and what a game changer. Thanks for the tip and nice to see you in your happy place!
Love those spiral feet with the texture - great idea!
Nothing wrong with going back to basics! There is always something new to learn or be refreshed on. Hope your knee recovers quickly! 🎉
Amen!

Standing that long on a pretty fresh knee can be gruesome!! Thank you for all the video's and advice you give....love them.
It sure is. Ugh, I'm never one to wish time to hurry, but I'd like to see March sooner rather than later. 😀

Very nice bowl. I do like the feet. How you make those, im going to use this example. Thank you for this tutorial.

That's awful! I'm so sorry you went through that. I get most from Sharon Hoppe Designs and Vermont Pottery Works.
@@hobblecreekpottery I’m healed now but I know it can take a while. PT worked wonders. Thanks for the rolling pin sites! I’ll check both of them 😊

Great video, thanks! Speaking of fishies, I am reading “Hooked” - another great book by you! 😀
Lol! I love that book since it's so close to our family commercial fishing in South Naknek. I'm thrilled you're enjoying Hooked.

Wishing you get better soon. Your work is beautiful.

Thank you so much, Denise for the Super Thanks! ❤️
Glad to see you back doing what you love!!!
I really like the paisley stamps! Do you know where they came from?
I bought them at The Tilted Kiln in St. George, UT, but I'm sure you can find something similar on Amazon.

What a beautiful piece, you inspire me so much. Even when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. Also wondering how thick is your bisque mold
Thank you. I do make my molds thicker for wear and tear. It's probably around 5/8.
@@hobblecreekpottery ok thanks appreciate it and you taking time to reply back. Have a fantastic week and hope you’ll be back at it real soon.
Thank you for sharing Tiffany and I hope you continue to get better each day. Do you by chance have any links to the stamps you used?
I don't since I found these in a store, The Tilted Kiln. I would try Amazon as I've found stamps like these there before.

You have the portable electric wheel hat has hand controls.
I do, but can't stand too long either.
I love those stamps where are they from?
I found them at The Tilted Kiln in St. George, UT. Sorry, I don't have a link, but this type of bowl can be made with any texture.
I might have missed it but, how much clay was that?
Also. How much would you sell a bowl like that for ? So beautiful ❤
I didn't weigh it. Just cut a good chunk off the block. But it's probably 8 to 10 pounds. For price, I'll have to see how it comes out, but it'll be 100 to 150 ballpark.

I'm not sure, as I don't work with air dry clay. But maybe try a spray sealer?
I love the bowl you made! Could you use it as a decorative item and not fire it?? Thank you! Feel good!!❤️🙏
It wouldn't last unless it was fired. But I do plan to market them as more display and decorative.
I’ve used beef bones for texture - they’re great as there’s not one the same.
Awesome bowl ❤
That sounds wicked!

It's just the stupid pain. This week has been better. I'm determined to overcome it.

Use a stand up wheel maybe?
How much would you charge for those bowls if you sold them?
Between 100 and 200.
