Those are really cute! A little off subject, but at Walmart in the holiday bins of cooking supplies I found a silicon mold for pie crust trim. It has four designs and works great with clay.
Great demo video. Everything was easy to see. All your tips have helped me on my clay experience so much. I marvel at your boundless creativity and love of sharing. Thank you so much.
@@hobblecreekpotteryWill do. Thank you for how much you give to the ceramic and art community. You and your families and students creativity is always a joy to see.
These guys are so freaking adorable!!!!! Thank you! I just ordered some Downpour celedon and 3 others this morning from Dick Blick. It's on sale right now.❤ It is snowing like crazy right now in Mid Missouri. I am going to finish putting a handle on my loaf pan and work on another one. So much to do and so little time to do it. I probably have about 3 kilns worth of bisque to glaze today as well. A lot of snowmen, mugs and those cute little trees you showed us how to make a couple weeks ago. 1st glaze fire will be tomorrow. UGH!!!
Suoer cute pair. Amazing what you can do with simple shapes and a lot of patience. If you give her a beard she can be a Tolkien dwarf instead of a gnome. Thanks.
I think you seems to make things deceptively easy or at least it looks like it. Beautiful little Gnomes, your grandbabies are going to have such a treat when they come to your house, Gnomes, fairies, fairy houses, witches. I can't imagine you will be short on visits. You will have to do a tour of your garden with all the different ceramics in it. Do you have a fairy garden for the grandkids?
Adorable, can’t wait to try this myself! I got the pattern, I already tried your 3 piece Christmas tree with cookie cutters and love it. Also would you be willing to offer the pattern for the mushroom mugs you made a couple of months ago? I am not sure if you already have but I would love to make one.
Omg I love them. Where is the link for the template please I only see the links for the tools used. Absolutely adore them I made one of your other gnomes so I think I need to make one of these, ok maybe 2 😊
@mandyowen4892 Thank you. Here is the link. It was the first link, but not attached to a paragraph, so it's a bit confusing. I've fixed it now. 😀 www.etsy.com/listing/1820439158/scandinavian-gnome-template-instant?etsrc=sdt
@susanbastian2851 I bisque them together, and then hopefully they separate and I can glaze them faster and easier. It doesn't always work out, and the hat fuses in the bisque kiln.
I’m really excited to make these little gnomes! They are so adorable! On the surface of your studio work surface, is there a finish on the birch or was it left raw? We are about to replace the top on my table and I plan to use birch plywood. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@ okay. Thanks Tiffinie, that’s what I had in mind, but my husband keeps insisting I need to polyurethane the top, can’t get him to understand that’s a big NO!
These are so gorgeous. I know it’s late in the day but I want to start making Christmas things for next year in January to avoid the kiln rush at the studio I go to. 😊 I’d live to buy this template but don’t know where to find it.
Thanks you. I’ve just found it and bought it. They’re wonderful! Would you mind telling me if you used a smooth or grogged clay and how thick a slab I should use? ❤
@Fruitbat745 I used a tick above 1/4 for thickness and I'm using bmix. No grog. But changing up the clay would give the gnomes a completely different look.
Love your gnome shirt too!!❤
@@ginnymaurer2580 LOL, I had to channel the gnomies!

@DianneAsby Yes, go with a high-quality birch. It's untreated, but I oil it with mineral oil probably 3 to 4 times a year.
