I know she sadly has long departed from us in this world - but for me , she is simply the BEST Bach exponent ( her compatriot , S Richter was excellent as well ) ! 5:36
What a wonderful performance of this Suite #2. I was so lucky to find this recording as I was looking for different performances of this piece. This pianist played with such a beautiful tone, a wonderful legato line and the voicing was fantastic. What a great pianist this lady was. God bless her!
She really plays this suite in the Baroque spirit. Articulates all the voices clearly . Full of character. Perhaps, the best performance I've heard of this suite.
I just discovered this treasure! Looking for several versions of this French suite I found this pianist and she is another story! OMG she is amazing! I love Russian pianists!!!! 🎹🌹🎹
I honestly can't think of anybody who can play Bach like this wonderful, wonderful pianist! Even when perfoming the little preludes, she adds a dimension of gentleness and sensitivity that is unparalleled. She maintains the legato touch even when moving up or down the keyboard more than a fingerstretch distance. Amazing!
This is the best version of this piece I’ve ever heard. The spirit, soul, sound, everything is just perfect 😍. And since I’m learning this piece, listening to this helps me a lot. Thank you.
Those who seek to learn more about Bach’s keyboard suites (the French, the English, and the Partitas) may want to listen to The Great Courses available on Audible, by Professor Robert Greenberg, “Bach and the High Baroque.” I quote the professor: “Bach creates a large contrast - a textural rhythm - in an otherwise static and potentially dull genre.”
You mean you give more assurance at a mad YT robot which is able in his own way to identify Chaimovic, Richter and Aldwell in the same time playing this French Suite instead of this Nikolayeva's gem uploaded by a Damavand's Spirit like me ?!
Good tempos. I'm definitely on the same page as Tantiana regarding how to approach Bach at the piano. If Bach had had one of these pianos he would have played it musically like she does, not trying to make it sound like two skeletons making love on a tin roof.
She plays it very beautifull, only in the 3th bar of the allemande she plays an 'e' in the right hand while in the original partiture there is written an 'e flat.' i wonder if she did it unpurpose, i guess she was conscious about the change she made.
Hey thanks a lot! I checked the video, I can understand why it doesn’t sound bad with an E either. But I was just wondering which note Bach had in mind for this. The guess an E flat. But I actual like it that she gives herself the freedom to play an E instead. And it sound good too the way she plays it. And I’m assuming Bach would have liked it too. But this opens up a discussion which leads to more talking then actually playing music 😄 greetings
not bad.....but please play in tempo. also Bach doesn't have harmony in the way romantic music does so each voice should be distinct rather than a single voice floating over the rest. there are not chords, there is not a soloist. too floaty, not in tempo, not clearly played, muttered.
I know she sadly has long departed from us in this world - but for me , she is simply the BEST Bach exponent ( her compatriot , S Richter was excellent as well ) ! 5:36
....my soul got instantly addicted to Bach played this way.....she is a miracle......❤
What a wonderful performance of this Suite #2. I was so lucky to find this recording as I was looking for different performances of this piece. This pianist played with such a beautiful tone, a wonderful legato line and the voicing was fantastic. What a great pianist this lady was. God bless her!
I can't stop listening to this .. So simple so perfect ,like Bach would have wanted .
She really plays this suite in the Baroque spirit. Articulates all the voices clearly . Full of character. Perhaps, the best performance I've heard of this suite.
I love Maria Joao Pires more, BUT,, yes Tatiana has a very distinct character I enjoy ALOT too ^^
@@heliopijpe I'm torn between the two! I love Nikolayeva playing this and Pires playing practically everything.
it's very beautiful but I prefer Gould's still
I prefer Schiff
Cyprien Katsaris and he doesn't mutilate the tempo

Cyprien Katsaris has incredible voicing technique far beyond most

There is something that is nowadays lost from these "romatic" pianists. Richter, Gigels, Nikolayeva, something seems lost.

Cyprien Katsaris has the most wonderful version
The most beautiful and talented girl in the world!
Really.
beautifully played! what a pianist she was.
+Maria Angela Capello Agreed!
Divine! Heavenly! Sublime! Gentle! Profound!
a fantastic pianist. superb Bach performances
This is just wonderful. So warm and bright and full of love. I haven't heard this suite since 1994.
What a soulful performance! Tender and singing.
I love her playing! so gentle!
I choose to call her Tatiana the Great.
This is the best version of this piece I’ve ever heard. The spirit, soul, sound, everything is just perfect 😍. And since I’m learning this piece, listening to this helps me a lot. Thank you.
Her left hand is magic! Of course right hand too, and everything else.
Pedja Pantelic yes! That left hand.
Magnificent. Thanks very much for posting this.
Sublime Interprete e Profonda Insegnante.
My current favourite
pianist!
like in heaven simply divine.
It is
Musica sublime.
How beautiful
Esse som é Perfeito. 🇧🇷
Maravilloso
Really stunning play.
Amazing playing. Beautiful:)
This is really amazing. This by far the best recording I've heard of this work.
Gorgeous.

Supreme music that floats the divine soul. Sheer happiness.

Lacrime di gioia.

Wow. Fell in love with this performance in the first 4 measures. The Russians rule with music.
Suberb.
Much better than Gould, Schiff, Rousset and that bunch of racing drivers.
I don't understand: in the description it says Vadim Chaimovic...?!
But who is the actual performer..? Vadim Chaimovic (according to the credits) or Mrs Nikolaeva ?

Michiel Brinkmann I wondered about that measure..my edition actually has an e natural..I scratched that and use e flat instead.

Het Rodney, interesting! My version is from Henle and has the E flat
I find it similar to Gould style in a way
This sublime suite got pedestrian rendition by T,Nikolaeva and S.Richter
