Yes it does, if you want to record your voice you need a external microphone. If you want to film your friends voices you have look in Settings, Preferences, Voice, go to Voice Output, and tell it Play Through Both.
That seems really cool. i'm sure i'm going to buy it. I just have 2 questions. Does it record your voice while recording your gameplay? Can you record yourself while recording your gameplay when you are using the Elgato?
DangerousDuran . Yes it will work on the PS4. Sony confirmed at the TGS that the PS4 will support video capture through HDMI. I will be getting this soon
The videos aren't bad, you can tell a difference if you put the same clip side by side of each, but just comes down to learning how to work with the hardware and software. Given you have something that, if I’m right was known to have massive issues, it can still be a good game capture device.
Whiteboy I have the elgato set up to 1080p but there is a fuzziness in the tv that i cant seem to make it a sharper display. How did you bypass this problem because I am a fan of your videos and I notice your quality is just a good as people who use elgato on the 360..

if u want just ur voice then you will have to hook up a mic to ur pc. it will automatically record chat so if u wanted to speak to ur friends at the same time then dont plug in a mic and just plug it in ur ps3 like u normally would. that means that if u were in a game with friends people can hear ur voice and ur friends
when the elgato is plugged into the computer its what gives it power and if you take the plug out or if you turn off the computer, the elgato will not turn on
It can but, you need to have a microphone that can plug into a USB port on the machine you want to film the games on, and change a few settings on the software side on the game capture.

Is there a way to record my voice with this setup without having to use a separate mic and audio recording software on PC? This is what I haven't been able to figure out from all the videos that I have seen regarding game capture cards. I have looked around a lot, haven't found an exact way to do it. That being said, I haven't invested money into a capture card, nor do I have one. Before I buy I want to know my options about recording audio. This or Avermedia LGP?
By the way, how do you use your turtle beach 12x with the elgato? I want to get set up for being known on youtube. Also do you need a HD tv? I'm guessing I do.
No, I think ps3 and Xbox said they will block recording with a capture card. But there will be a recording function in the ps4 hisself (don't know about the Xbox) Hope this helped.
You don't use the HDMI cable to the game capture, it isn't needed. It says in the video, HDCP will not allow you to film in HD on the PS3. There are ways around it, but they aren't looked at as "legal" ways to get the full 1080P.
The people who make the game capture have been able to work with RUclips to make it so people can live stream, but you need to link your account and have to start off 1k subs. You can live stream to Twitch without anything need, but an account link. I THINK don't quote me on it, but you can stream with XSplit also.

For people who are using Windows 7 Ultimate with Elgato HD. Problem: When you are trying to capture both video and audio in the same time from PC, the audio does not seam to work or record. Solution: Simply download Stereo Mix Realtek HD Audio driver and install it to your computer. Next, enable Stereo Mix in your sound settings as default device for the mic in your computer. Then go to your Elgato sound capture settings and go into Live Commentary. Select Stereo Mix as your mic. Your Elgato will now record audio from that source and everything will come out fine now. :)
I have a question, Whiteboy. How long is the elgato with the cables? so if i were to plug it in to my xbox how far would it stretch? like 10 ft from my xbox to somewhere else. If you could see that would be awesome, thanks.

no you can't if it's not in the room unless you bought a really long cable... the only capture cars I know that doesn't need a pc plugged in is the avermedia one

I know you said "...no more comments...", but, I recently got the hd60. I had to drop the resolution to 720p for my 360, but that's fine, still get good results. Anyway, I've been finding it sometimes laggy opening files, starting recording, deleting files. The main problem I've been having is the audio commentary. I can see the meter reacting to my voice, but when I play the video back, it's like I never recorded it. Do I need separate software, can I not use my TurtleBeach headset and need a proper mic or both?
Should I remove the plastic around the elgato? Will it overheat and get damaged?

So are you able to narrate with the headset as you play or do you have to add that during editing?
NickFrags, the ps3 cable you need is included with the capture, it is an AV cable.

HDMI cables are for every console / computer just look for the HDMI-Port,I believe the XBOX-HDMI port is at the back of the XBOX360

Yes, because it gets the data from the USB that has to be in the laptop or desktop that has the software.

no the game capture (card) is to capture the video and the audio but not your voice you will need a external recording software
