Thanks for the info! Your videos are so helpful! I have a question about rashes. You mentioned that sometimes babies get a rash around their mouth, neck, chest, or area where the food came into direct contact with the skin or through saliva, and that this isn’t a food allergy. My baby often gets this rash when eating certain foods. What can I do to help the rash go away and how to prevent it from happening? If it isn’t food allergy, then why does the rash occur?
Thank you for watching the video! Since some babies have more sensitive skin, it easily becomes irritated by some things that come into contact with it. If this is happening to your baby, try your best to use gentle soap and water to wash the areas on the baby that came into contact with the food, after eating. If skin irritation occurs, aquaphor healing ointment or Vasaline usually work well to speed up recovery.
Hello Dr. Belousov, your videos are a great source of information! I suspect my baby has a food sensitivity towards dairy products which causes him to have severe tummy pain. In this case should it be avoided or similar to an allergy be consumed on regular basis to overcome the issue? If so, what age to start with consuming it? Thank you!
Thank you for watching this video. Food sensitivities are different than food allergies. Something you can do is try offering various forms of dairy products to your baby on different days in small amounts, and see if there is a version that your baby tolerates better.
If I suspect my baby has mild allergy, e.g. should I continue giving or stop giving the food?he tends to scratch his neck when food falls into his neck while eating
Thank you for watching this video. If your baby tends to scratch the areas of the body where the food came in contact, such as the neck, that is not a sign that your child has an allergy to the food. Therefore continue to offer that food to your baby. Just be sure to clean the baby's skin well after the meal is complete to remove any food that may cause your baby to itch.

Didn’t know that toddlers can have more symptoms than babies.
Yes symptoms of an allergic reaction to a food tend to be less severe in babies than toddlers or older children.
