    Really well presented, but maybe it would have been better at the beginning to show the cups as you're talking about them?

    Fascinating how straw cups help the babies muscle development for speech.

    It's interesting to learn the connection between the different cup options and the connection to speech development. Thank you for sharing these eye opening facts.

    Thank you for sharing! My baby learn to use straw cup at the age of 6months and succes in 2 weeks. Now at the age of 8 months I want to teach him using an open cup. Hopefully he could master it soon.

      Thank you for watching. It's incredible to hear that your baby has been able to master drinking from a straw cup already!

    I really wish I had seen this video earlier 😓. I got a few 360 cups to try transitioning away from baby bottles for milk because I knew sippy cups are not ideal. I just need to keep letting messes happen while he learns how to use real cups

    Really helpful, thank you! Our son is 7 months corrected (he was born at 24 weeks) but has really taken to solids. Trying to give him some water in the ezpz tiny cup after every meal but am a bit confused on the correct tongue placement - could you please advise?

      Thank you for watching my video! We want to teach the baby to drink similar to how we drink from an open cup. Position the outer upper wall of the cup over the babies tongue and then tip it up to let the baby close the upper lip over the inner upper wall of the cup. The babies tongue should be on the outside of the cup rim, not on the inside. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the info I wish I'd watched your video early on. I feel so misled as I just bought a 360 cup and have soft spout sippy cups(and my 12 month old still manages to make a mess with these anyway lol). Shops shouldn't be allowed to sell these. Will invest in some silicon mini cups.
    I do have a straw cup but she sometimes let's the water run out of her mouth and makes a mess

    I would love to know what baby bottles you recommend... just curious since there is so many in the market

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 года назад

      Yes there are so many options for baby bottles on the market. For babies who have problems with gas pain, I find that the Dr. Brown bottles work the best. But otherwise I recommend that parents go with their preference and if the baby is struggling with taking that bottle, they try another brand to find what works best for the baby.

    Our issue is that our 1 year old gets the water in their mouth and then it just all spills out. No issues with eating or bottles, but can’t seem to figure out sucking a straw or how to swallow from an open cup. I’ve been trying for over a month now and don’t know what to do.

    I love your videos! I have one feedback for improvement, being smiling is great but when you are smiling full time it seems fake and hard to get connected with you. If you keep your presentation in balance with smile and sometimes normal talk can be easier to follow and feel connected. Thanks

    Thank you for the information! I have a question. I started to introduce open cup with water to my baby but he turns his head away every time we try and he doesn’t like water… I don’t know what to do

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  2 года назад +1

      Liza thank you for watching the video and leaving feedback! You may try putting breastmilk or formula into the cup instead to teach the baby how to use the open cup. However we do want the baby to also learn to take water. Some babies are not fond of the taste and it takes more exposures before it grows on them.

    Would it be confusing for the child, if I offer both open cup and straw cup simultaneously at 6 months?

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching this video. I find that most babies don't grasp the concept of drinking from a straw cup until around 9 to 12 months. With your child being 6 months old, I would start off with the open cup and let the baby master that before offering the straw cup.

    My babies been holding his own bottle since he was 4 months old. And feeds himself since. Makes me so nervous with a open cup. Cause he def knows how to tip it already. Makes me worried he’s going to choke with an open cup. And he’s a strong little guy. It’s hard to take the bottle from him let alone an open cup. I can see it splashing over all over his face wrestling him for it to slow him down 😂
