Introducing peanut containing foods between 4-6 months would have been good to know. My son has eczema and I know he’s at risk for developing allergies and he might be allergic to peanuts but I haven’t talked to my dr about it yet since his check up is coming up pretty soon.
Thank your for watching this video and for leaving the comment. Even if your child is older, he would still stand to benefit from the introduction of the allergenic foods in his diet, and frequent exposures in his diet moving forward.
Are tree nuts considered one food group or should almonds/walnuts/cashews be introduced individually for a week before introducing a different tree nut?
Thank you for watching this video. This is a great question. Yes each of the nuts should be introduced individually. Although many different nuts fall into the tree nut category, a baby having a reaction to one of them does not mean they will have a reaction to all the other tree nuts.
Does the allergy risk increase if the parent is allergic? I’m not allergic to peanuts, but I am allergic to milk, pineapples, and bananas , with pineapple being the most severe
Having a family history of food allergies, irregardless of which ones they are, is considered a small risk factor. Those children do benefit from early exposure to the common allergenic foods and frequent exposure in their diet as a strategy to decrease their risk for developing allergies to those foods.
Very good presentation, easy to understand and very informative. Thank you🙏🏽
