Good review, but you keep referring to the Teana's lack of excitement yet the truth is that the Teana was not made for thrill-seekers. It is a large, executive sedan designed for people who value ride comfort, cabin space, refinement, and occasionally, a good dose of power. For such cars, FWD and a good CVT are quite sufficient.
My exact thoughts. Thank you for sharing this. I hope Erick with a C K will research why some Nissan cars are actually better in "boring" interiors while they are still powerful at 2,500cc. My "boring" KG11 is 2,000cc.
Many of us love a good land yatch. Quiet comfort. Harsh 'sporty' rides have their time and place. For a daily comfort and sedate power is what you need.
I owned a Teana 2014, For my first car, I love every bit of it and because of this, I will give credit where it's due. One year down the line and my experience has been nothing but perfect.
On another Note (pun not intended), it would be great if you could do a review of “Kenyan Used” cars, especially the large engine Nissans. So that mbogi can get a feel of how the cars age and also advise what to look out for when buying a Kenyan used car.
Erick why so much hate for the NISSANS? This car is not meant from racing, it’s a decent family car, stop the boring “but but but” Good review though. Next do a review of the car you drive tuone how thrilling it’s baba.
Wokabi you're confused! You say this is a reliable car, it is comfortable, it has space, it has convenience, it has that punch of power, it is fast, it is a smooth ride, it has decent handling, it gives you value for money, then you overemphasize on on how it is a boring, unexciting car for non-enthusiasts
The word enthusiast is usually used synonymous for a boy racer. We forget some enthusiasts even go into restoration of old slow cars. Not all enthusiasts are hoonigans. Enthusiasm is a spectrum.
Different cars require different service and maintenance regimes. Most of the people who have owned Toyotas find it difficult to manage other cars like Mercedes, Nissan, BMW because they approach these cars with Toyota mentality: hata "check engine" light ikiwaka, they don't fix the problem thinking they are still driving a Toyota. Before they know it the car is dead and begin creating stereotypes around the car.
Great review of the vehicle. And yes the fwd on that really doesn't make that much sense but its a good car to use for long distance trips no fuss. The lag from the gearbox is because the car was in Eco mode. Nissan tunes out throttle response kabisaa to give gradual acceleration.
Thank you wokabi this review saved the life of my nissan march the CVT transmission had leaked on the sump and oil drained soo much unknowingly untill i started hearing funny noises.i realised almost immediately b4 there was damage to the pump.So the mechanic was about to pour for me some Nissan NS-2 when car is wriiten NS-3 just like this teana..so i insisted on the NS-3 b'cause i knew otherwise would cause problems..Now the car works just fine back to uber business now😄
I think you miss the purpose of the car. Teana or accord or Camry are family sedans not race cars. How well do they achieve that objective i.e safely and comfortably delivering family from point A to B. These are not adventure cars i.e the issues that you keep emphasizing.
In all honesty the Teana is not as boring as you made of it sound. I just did a review on you too today... How did you fail to mention the power output of that 2.5 engine? Intentional? Or part of a predetermined result?
This issue of "Nissan ni Nissan tu" should not see 2022. I was born in the 70s and grew up knowing Nissans as quality vehicles. Ise CVT the only reason you don't like them Eric " with a CK"?😊😊
