You remind me so much of my grandpa. He was a natural engineer. Because he had polio from when he was a kid, he always had to create so many things to help him in his everyday life. We lost him 7 months ago to cancer. I just needed to tell you that I really appreciated this video and it made me feel close to my dear grandpa. And I’m so glad it ended up working! Good for you, Greg!

I feel like every season of Alone should feature Greg just wandering from contestant to contestant, building some contraption or tool for each of them, like some kind of wandering druid nomad guy.

Next version: when the pan gets pressed down by the weight of the fish, the pan's downward movement trigger a spring mechanism to swivel salt and pepper from the left and right side of the pan to season the fish. :) Please make!
- Actually, I was thinking that the oil/butter and seasonings should be already there, but the mechanism that turns off the motor for the reel, also activates a spark trigger to ignite the tinder under the pan, so the fuel doesn't start burning until after the fish is in the pan, and the seasoning and oil/butter will not burn or have to be dispensed. That was what i was thinking would be working better while watching it because otherwise a lot of the fuel could burn away if the fish doesn't catch right away, like say a half hour before it gets a bite, then most of the fuel would be used up and the fire going out.
I worked on projects like this before. I can't imagine the amount of time you actually spent on it. Cuz I know hours and hours and hours. Pretty cool. Man!
❤ This was quite the adventure! The ups and downs, the constant changes and improvements. The evolution was a wonder to behold. Right, I like fish but I was thinking about garlic, chives, basil and pepper etc.
