i stood up and exclaimed “rocket money!” to make sure big a knew i was paying attention during the ad. i was promptly kicked out of my grandma’s funeral, but i think that was a small loss in my grander marketing knowledge journey.
Thanks beeg yoshi, I wholeheartedly appreciated this comment. It was quite funny
Later that day, Beeg Yoshi received a call from his lawyer, informing him that Grandma _did indeed leave him "rocket money"_ in her will. He's commenting from the Cayman islands right now.
anyone else think it’s weird the popeyes kid and atrioc have never been seen in the same room 🤔
"big a say moooo! mooooo!"
Before anyone asks, yes he can say it
Probably because Atrioc is extremely racist.
@twizzm He can say the title of the hit 2017 horror/thriller film starring a clown called pennywise
No
Atrioc should definitely take a deeper look at the John Deere story, because basically all that happed was they wrote a letter that said “we understand your frustration” and then did nothing.
Yeah, there's no legislation at all. Tbh, Atrioc should stay out of non-business stories, this isn't the first time something like this happened.
@@gagagero you realize it is technically business, considering mechanics and repairs are business
yeah he's usually pretty good about trying to get the full story. Unfortunately he missed on this one.
@@wobblywack5531 Driving a car is technically physics, but it won't make you into a rocket scientist.
Its literally related to multiple businesses, bruh
I kinda wished he mentioned the thing about John Deere tractors is basically a pr stunt with right to repair. There’s an addendum in the bill that allows companies to deny selling any parts for the safety concerns for the costumer, Louis Rossman explains it much better.
Was just about to comment this
That's antisemetic

the John deere thing isn’t over, I think they’re misleading people with the outcome it basically ended with a stalemate AT BEST
The John Deere Right to Repair thing isn't a win, it's an extremely ineffective right to repair bill that specifically does not apply to lots of other things like home appliances and some electronics or provide extremely disincentivizing restrictions that manufacturers can invoke to 'restrict' repairs by making them cost-ineffective (going to be very relevant for phone repairs, for example). Overall, the piece of legislation is a gigantic piece of shit that just happened to do one thing kinda right out of like a dozen or more things it was supposed to address.
shut up it's progress you diddler
It's not a bill, its an MOU (Memorendum of Understanding). Basically an agreement between the AFBF (Insurance company and lobbying group of America's farmers) and John Deere. JD are feeling the pressure so they're trying to solve it outside the legal system. In return for tools & documentation the AFBF promises to refrain from introducing or promoting R2R bills (Note that the definition of documentation includes the words "diagram" & "schematic").
If JD don't "play nice" the AFBF can withdraw from the agreement and go back to legislation.
Honestly, after the NY bill got its legs cut off at the last minute, I'll say this MOU is better than nothing, even if not enough.
The bill is to trick people into thinking something actually changed
@@Thisisthegreatestatofalltime Yea, I've since heard JD already signed something like this and it didn't change anything. it's bullshit PR
I can't imagine a robot powered lawyer being particularly good in court, especially initially. The sheer fact that its not an individual would probably be offputting to most juries/judges, plus the law is kept deliberately confusing to ensure the general populace can't access the law without spending large amounts of money on lawyers.
That's antisemetic

I took a Computer Science ethics class & the right to repair is such a huge issue with devastating monopolistic potential
According to NPR and right-to-repair advocates, "There's no commitment from anyone to enforce it" referring to the agreement between John Deere and The American Farm Bureau Federation over right to repair. Time will tell if it does anything, not a full win.
Hey Big A, or anyone else watching this, bad news about the John Deere story. There's a great RUclipsr named Louis Rossman who talks a lot about right to repair, I just found he has a video called "John Deere Memo: Farmers have NOT won but that won't stop the news from pretending they did". It talks about how that article you cited is basically a puff piece to make the public, and by extension legislators, think farmers have what they asked for while John Deere still maintains a vital hold over the ability to repair their equipment. The video is very worth watching but in short there was only a memorandum of understanding, not proper legislation, and the latter is still needed for John Deere to not hold a monopoly. :(
8:37 this is literally like a gumball bit they (Gumball and Darwin) were watching their version of RUclips and a ad started playing and they looked away from the computer and then the ad stopped playing and the ad would only keep going when they were watching it
Dude that sony tv is straight up dystopian
It'll never be real. It was filed for a patent to obscure the actual patent they actually want cause patents are all public. Big companies do it all the time.
I wouldnt be surprised if this is an old patent. Large companies have so many one off patents for so much random and stupid shit. Probably some employee who wanted to just tell others they have a patent, because for some reason its supposed to mean something like having a doctorate, so they filed the most random and menial thing that would probably never hold up in court or have any practical use.
@@isk8atparks it is.
How fast in the court case do you think it will take before the AI robot starts talking about porn in some way?
Few months.
I woke up my dog yelling Rocket Money and it didn't even skip the ad. Serves me right for trusting a marketer.
8:25 literally all I can pay attention to is the spit on the mic
Honestly I would trust an AI lawyer more than a regular one. They literally have the law at their finger tips so to speak. Most lawyers don't even know the law until a case is brought before them and then they don't really care enough to learn all they need to. A lot of times, in smaller cities/towns, it's mainly about who you know. If you're a popular lawyer, most times you'll get what you ask for your person be it a reduced sentence, probation, etc.
AI use is an arms race.
The opposing council will have their own AI.
You'll be a poor criminal who has to settle for a court appointed AI.
@@snickle1980 I doubt either of us will be alive when technology becomes that advanced to be honest
Nah there is no way an ai can try to argue emotions in the courtroom.
That second part abt it being who you know, is way more important the AI ability to read a book and formulate lawyer argument rhetoric.
Having a working relationship and understanding what kind of judge/jury you're talking to is far more important than the ability to recite every relevant law in a case.
@@plabcentral630 You must not have tried anything related to ChatGPT. It can write things more emotional and empathetic than many humans, in fact.
My first million podcast had the first 2 wins/fails covered last week. It’s a great pod. Another instant classic from Big A as well
Right to repair wen through, but the bill was neutered. It was supposed to do a whole lot more but many industries were left out or excluded for various bullshit reasons/lobbyists. The fight is still ongoing.
its crazy how long that popeyes meme was. Big ups to the kid getting a deal wit popeyes, moving up in life
I love these marketing monday videos keep it up big A!
If that advert thing became real I'd make an advert that was just a picture of Jigsaw and my "brand name" would change every week to something completely random so people couldn't keep watching their TV until they guessed it

8:26 spit action
when the rocket money segment came up i immediately jumped from my seat and proclaimed: "Rocket Money".
Farmers have in no way won the right to repair. All that happened is that JD signed a "memorandum of understanding" which is not legally binding and is something they've backed out of previously. Media is simply lying that this matters in the slightest to bury the issue. Watch the louis rossman video if you want a full explanation.
Unironically I am excited for this ai lawyer. At least in the US. Public defenders are so swamped and underpaid that so many people who use public defenders end up getting a plea deal regardless if they are actually guilty or not.
This would be amazing to ease off the amount of cases and work for public defenders and actually give a fighting chance to those who can’t afford private lawyers

Filling out a fafsa was like the easiest thing I ever did. I can't believe they made an app for it

That right to repair bill worth nothing to farmers, because last minute politicians add one paragraph that make the bill useless.

A lot of concepts are winning this week.
Another classic piece of content by Big A. What a legend
Another fire marketing monday by the BIG A himself.
If anybody was curious about that final titbit on China and Australia, yeah we really don't see China in great regard over here.
Main issue which sparked the souring of opinion arose in 2019 when we as a nation inquired into the origins of Covid and possibly conducting an investigation, which China had severe pushback against us doing (which, albeit weird, makes sense considering they are a seperate sovereign nation)
This lead to huge cutbacks on trade deals in 2020&2021 as well as a proxy war of influence between China and Aus; China stopped buying a ton of stuff off of us mainly wine, coal and meat which was a serious concern to our economy at the time considering wine especially is a huge export.
We also began to have issues with allied micronations and island nations which would align themselves to China more that Australia under China's 'Belts and Roads' initiatives. They've had mixed successes but the notable one is the Torres Straight Islands, who were significant friends of Australia who now publicl endorse China
There is also the issue in Aus that China owns a number of treaty ports in the country which have been shown to have military vehicles and infrastructure brought into them. Aus government also sells water rights to Chinese companies usually to the detriment of local communities.
One other fun thing to note is that the largest majority of international students in Australian universities were Chinese. There have been a number of incidents revolving around Chinese students in Aus universities (search for them if interested, you'll find them).
All in all, both sides haven't had the cleanest of relations. My overview is definitely false in some areas but this is what I remember from news outlets and hope it was interesting.
The John Deere MOU does jack shit. The writing itself says it can be amended or deemed unviable "at least semi-annually" by the manufacturer (i.e. John Deere).

I cheered rocket money and the ad didnt stop 😔 luckily I got to hear about all the benefits of cancelling a subscription that I didn’t even know I was paying for 😃
Imagine the robot just admits that the defendant is guilty
I yelled rocket money my Sony Bluetooth speaker caught in fire…
The John Deere win isn’t as much of a win as made out to be. You should look more into it. They gave up a little ground by offering to selling the tools to repair equipment but tried to halt any further advancements, of right to repair, being taken up by states or counties. My statement my not 100% accurate but that’s what I’ve heard from people talking about it.
The problem with AI lawyers is that a big part of establishing the law is creating precedents that other rulings can be established upon and AI lawyers can't make those inferred connections yet. They can interpret a perspective of a law, but cannot comprehend multiple perspectives of a law, which is a key piece to appeal to a judge and jury.

Ai replacing prosecuters and defenders is a hilarious idea
imagine the commercial speedruns that ppl could do if sonys patent got passed
John Deere right to repair news was basically just a headline so that John Deere can gdt away with their awful repair practices for longer. They technically agreed to let farmers repair their own equipment, but when you get into the meat of their new policy, you'll see that they won't let you repair for "safety" reasons. PURE pr move.
I remember when Atrioc liked my comment when he first started RUclips. Was my first time ever getting liked like that. It's a warm place in my heart
@7:42 This wasn't a win for the people, it was a win for John Deere. Look up Louis Rossmann as he goes over why farmer's didn't actually win and how the "farmer's won" news is not only wrong but also potentially harmful to the farmer's fight for actual right to repair.

I thought the right to repair bill had a clause that exempt john deer, apple , and some other companies.
I just wanna say that while you addressed the patent that requires viewers to exclaim the brand name, and you did that for your sponsor, I immediately exclaimed "ROCKET MONEY!" as well.
I am ashamed of myself.
would like to point out that john deere essentially made a massive pr move and has tricked a ton of people (including big A) into thinking that farmers have the right to repair now when in reality they dont.
I looked up the Sony patent image and the thing the person is watching is literally one person shooting another person in the face, I almost choked laughing that in order to get back to the violence we have to literally stand up and exclaim “McDonald’s” to get back to the violence, this is what Japan thinks of America, McDonald’s and shootings
i recommend watching louis rossman videos on the john deere right to repair. Its not an actual win. Just a fake "WIN".
look at the mic at 8:26
eventually you'll have an ai prosecutor, defense attorney, and judge, and a trial will be submitting all the evidence and clicking a button and 2 seconds later your sentence is decided

I’ll stop consuming content and move to solely gaming and burning things for entertainment if they make me say McDonalds
I can’t believe i actually said “rocket money” outloud
I'm interested to find out how that AI court case does, but I'm not sure it'll go well for the AI. AI excels in hard sciences with exclusive rules and facts. It's hard for it to parse contradictions like you and I can. Case law is often contradictory and a bit of a mess. The best lawyer isn't the one with everything memorized, but the one that's able to argue that their case law supersedes. It's not so much about the facts but about applying those effectively. I think the ideal scenario is to use AI more as an assistant or tool while having a well trained professional synthesize it. Like a super powered google of sorts. This would be especially useful for public defense attorneys or inmates trying to file an appeal from prison, as public defenders are egregiously overworked and inmates only get an hour or two in the legal library.
But of course, if the AI lawyer is effective it's going to be bought up by larger legal firms or sold to businesses as a cost cutting mechanism. We live in a hell world :)
I completely agree, I think law, especially as it stands currently, isn't about the actual laws themselves but whether they are relevant to the case or if there is a precedent. Another way to word this is I think its less about knowing how the law works, but successfully arguing and convincing others that your interpretation is the correct one, which means for an ai to do so successfully understanding human behavior is almost more important than the laws themselves.
Agree, except AI isn’t even great in hard sciences either. Excels most in “creative” fields imo, as small mistakes are inconsequential.
Though probably not for kindness of their heart, it is awesome Popeye's did that
A marketing monday on marketing and NIL deals in college sports would be interesting. It's a relatively new thing in college sports and it is a shit show. A high school quarterback that was supposed to go to the University of Florida got screwed out of $13,000,000 recently.
Sony patent will certainly be quicker to skip ads so Id honestly take the bullet
The right to repair in John Deere's case is not a win for the farmers. Louis Rossman did a great job on his channel, detailing how this "win" is BS.
