I think Rhaenyra wouldn’t want to take that risk. Do I think she would keep the secret? Sure. But keep in mind that the truth means Rhaenyra and Daemon are NOT married and their children are illegitimate and therefore ineligible for the crown. Also, I think Rhaenys would be extremely disappointed in her son. Is it better than him being dead? Yes. She wouldn’t be mad that he was gay, but turning his back on children that he accepted and claimed as his own would be terrible to her. They weren’t his children biologically, but clearly that doesn’t matter much to his parents.
Although I will say the differences in book in tv show make this all the more complicated. In the books there is polygamy, Laenor is dead, he is possibly the biological father to the boys, so really it’s hard to reconcile all the problems and solutions between the two forms of media.
And Rhaenys will rejoice, hug Rhaenyra and Daemon and thank them for the fact that her son lost his title, money, family, dragon because the scriptwriters decided so to make the black faction look good? Haha, It will be interesting how they will get out when Daemon summons the dragon Leinor (who is alive) ... The only scenes that were more absurd than this scenario were the scenes from the coronation of Aegon, when the dragon crawled out from under the floor and the fight on the steps ...
By the way, if Leynor is alive, then Rhaenyra and Daemon's marriage is not valid, and their children are bastards, lol
One important mention. In the books Laenor is was murdered for real. No excuses. That makes more sense cause he had a dragon. Well-known fact that the dragon can only have on rider. In the coming war his dragon s gonna have another rider.

Essos is where Targaryens are from. Valyria is a small part of Essos. Many cities exist there: Braavos (where Arya Stark became No one), Pentos, Volantis, Meereen, Astapor, qarth, Yi Ti, Vaes Dothrak etc it’s much larger than Westeros.

Lack of clear communication is the poison for this whole family. Daemon could’ve told Viserys the exact context of his heir for a day comment, it might’ve lessened the heat of Viserys’ ire.
Viserys could’ve told his daughter clearly that he’s serious about keeping her as his heir, Daemon could’ve come clean that he didn’t screw Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra could’ve explained to Alicent that Daemon only kissed her.
And Rhaenyra definitely should’ve told Rhaenys that her son was alive. She damn near risked her alliance by letting Rhaenys think she killed her son.

And by doing what she did, she gave him the freedom to truly be happy.

Rhaenys Targaryen has to be one of the saddest stories in pre-Aerys GoT history. She lost the throne despite being Jaehaerys' eldest, was led to believe both of her children preceded her in death, allied with the woman she thought was her son's murderer, and was burned to death without ever seeing the fruit of her labor.
But then again, almost everyone who participated in the Dance met a sad end. Rhaenyra was incinerated having seemingly lost everyone she loved except her fourth son. Alicent watched her family die one by one and then lived years with that over her head. Corlys Velaryon watched his family die and was very nearly executed as a traitor, but survived. And so many other sad stories.

I watched HoTD again and I realised it was Laenor who proposed the whole plan of faking his death, fleeing away and getting Rhae a husband who shows up. That time when he is talking about a husband Rhae deserves he isn't talking about himself.

He was planning on changing after the events of Driftmark to fully commit, but Daemon convinced her and made her want him gone to marry Daemon, and made it seem like it was a kindness. Rhaenyra may have meant it as a kindness, but Daemon 100% threatened Laenor if he didn't agree to this he would either have him killed for real or kill the strong kids so his blood would be rhaenyra's only heirs. Rhaenyra did not know of this of course, and that's why Laenor looks unhappy in the rowing scene, because he's forced to not tell or see his parents again and go through with this charade so Rhaenyra and Daemon can have their"happy" ending.

When a male is the heir and his wife is unfaithful…it can put into question if the child she gives birth to is legitimate BUT IN THIS CASE: *the female is the heir* and any children that comes out of her is unquestionably hers and so there is no doubt in their legitimacy … regardless as queen, she can declare them legitimate. Cause I refused to believe they were going to cast him as disguised Addam since the lad is supposed to be younger.

In the book version of this situation, they actually had Laenor killed. I like the change to him just running away, but I'm curious how someone else is supposed to ride Seasmoke since the dragon definitely knows its rider is still out there and won't take another. Sea smokes role in the dance of the dragons is pretty important
If a dragon seed like Adam was able to ride Sea smoke successfully, then it’s implied that Laenor is finally dead. It’s very possible he could have truly died while in Essos though the show made him escape with his lover but eventually, he could have finally died later so his story in the book reconcile to put an end

Laenor should make an appearance for Rhaenyra in season 2 after Luke died. He should fly a dragon and fight Team Green and help Rhaenyra win this battle. They may not have been in love with each other but there was love for each other. For that he should fight for Team Black and help them gain justice.
If it's revealed that Laenor is alive, it would also reveal that Rhaenyra’s marriage to Daemon is invalid, and that their sons are illegitimate.
Yet that completely goes against the book as Laenor is confirmed murdered possibly by Daemon and Rhae influence they can’t keep drifting from the books so much or we’ll just get another Season 7-8

Because of how Aemma died. Also daemon was trying to defend Rhaynera. Vaemomd started it by glaring at her..everyone knew Lanenor preferences, hell Alicent made a comment about it. Corey had to choose side. Beside they would have basically cause Baela and Rhanea death seeing as they love their grandchildren.

They cast the actress that plays his "mom" though, for season 2. Famous stage actress will be playing the famous spice trader-ess. She's going to survive the war so expect a lot of mileage out of that character.

I believe they did love each other as much as each of them could, given the circumstances. It was a relationship of trust, they knew what each other was about and had a mutual understanding. Marriage might have been just for image and politics, but in the show at least, they did care for each other.
