They didn't even make her mad until last minute! In the original ending she actually set of that green wildfire stuff! That's why we heard explosions and the editors said they edited green flames before making it yellow. They also never told Emilia any of this and he script was completely different then anyone else's. she had the wildfire script where she didn't go mad the whole time, that's the script they read on the table read video, they changed it while filming and lied to Emilia

@@draconicthorn1980 the show spent several seasons building her character, her father was a mad king and she was supposed to be different, most of her fights revolved around freeing slaves and people from differents cities, but at the end of the show they threw it all away and made her go “crazy” in the span of 3 episodes and kill innocents which resulted in her being betrayed by Jon snow like it’s been said which was also out of character for him
The biggest mistake she made was to have left Essos , her life ended the moment she met Jon, she started to lose everything first the Viserion until lost life itself

RheyaRu!z That’s not true. She still had Greyworm (a general she trusted), her main dragon (and that’s the problem), Unsullied and Drothaki. That’s not what I called « nothing ». She lost a lot, I agree, (Viserion, Rhaegal, Missandei, Jorah) but not everything. And Jon wasn’t eager to take the throne from her before she did what she did, so they could have found a way together to make sure Danny is seen as the rightful queen, so there is no need for her to feel so desperate about risking to loose the Iron Throne. She was actually WINNING the damn Iron Throne before she acted crazy and lost it. Pretty ironic.

For those who only watched the show and haven't read the book- Dany is not supposed to go mad. It was a rushed ending. The author George R R Martin haven't finished writing the books yet, he definitely would have hated the way the show ended. Hoping he comes out with the next book soon, he always exceeds expectations.
He said the show could've gone 12 seasons. That's his way of saying he hates the ending they went with.

Fandom sounds pretty sure when saying they believe Dany will go mad in the books too. It makes sense, so I'll probably never read the books as I don't want to be letdown this badly again (ironic as I only started liking Dany in series 7 when she met Jon, she grew on me too fast after that!)

All I saw was a grieving young women who just lost a 2nd child, so soon after the 1st, along with most of her Dothraki, Ser Jorah, and her best friend, whose dying word was "Dracarys" all in an incredibly short time span!
She was simultaneously honoring Missandei's dying wish and finally heeding the words of Olenna Tyrell "Your a Dragon. Be a Dragon." when she burned King's Landing! I honestly don't see too much difference between sending Drogon to burn the Red Keep and Agon the Conqueror's burning of Harrenhal with Balerion the Black Dread. Biggest one is probably that King Harren didn't taunt Agon by killing someone he deeply cared about before his very eyes! Yet one was dubbed "mad" while the other was celebrated as a conqueror who became the 1st king of the 7 kingdoms.
Grief as deep as Dany must have felt could likely push anyone to act irrationally. It just so happens that most people don't have a large army and a Dragon who can take down your enemies with a single word. She did.
She fought for justice. Throughout 7 seasons. She did an unbelievable job in essos. She freed thousands and thousands of innocents. It's a shame what they did to her.
D&D butchering her character in 2 episodes was as ridiculous as the whole season.

I agree. She would've made an amazing anti-hero, she would've been as interesting as Twyin Lannister or Walter White from Breaking Bad. They're not "the good" guys, but still we loved their characters. Because we understood their motives. Danaerys didn't get enough dialogue, enough episodes to turn into the "bad guy".

She doesn't have that natural instinct the rest of us have to compare out morals, ethics, and actions to others and determine their validity. She sees nobody as her equal, whatever she thinks is right because it's her who thinks it.
@@suzukisixk7 In one episode, Dario Nahaaris suggests "showing power", " making a statement" by burning every master in Slaver's Bay, she responds "I'm a Queen not a butcher". She was ruthless and cruel to her enemies, but she never killed Innocents. So that was a big jump, you can't just go from protecting innocent people to burning them. Even if she lost everything, it still doesn't explain why she would target and burn children. Again, I'm not against the "mad queen" ending, but her descent into hell is not convincing in the show. Hopefully the books will explain it better.
@@Shams03079 well for one. This is the problem with totalitarianism at it's core. It's great when it agrees with you but when it doesn't it's too late. There's no changing somebody's mind when they can't conceptualize that they could be wrong.
Second... Nobody seems to be willing to admit that danys character was meant to be a plot twist. This is the reason they gave hints about her darkness but always fixed it with good deeds. There needed to be clues but it's not just a normal character arc. They can't have it explained before it happens or it's not a twist. It's just another villain (and way late in the game for a normal villain)
If ya don't like twists that's cool, say you don't like twists but this was a good one. If you can have a main character speak lines giving away the ending years before the ending and still shock people....you did well.
That's a pretty bold risk for a carefully crafted 20 year built up plot twist. People have been guessing this correctly since before the show even aired. Asking them for more is pretty unfair

But in Titanic, Jack dies, basically saving Rose....In Romeo & Juliet, they both commit suicide out of grief......Then there's GoT: Writers give Danaerys Targaryen one loss after another, one betrayal after another, she's even rejected by the man she loves because he finds out they're related. Writers force the character to inexplicably commit an atrocity by burning down the very city she has long claimed as an heir to The Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms. The Protector of Innocents and Breaker of Chains is also, inexplicably, turned into a hitler-esque tyrant. The man she loves is manipulated into killing her by her former adviser, who orchestrates the death of the Queen. GoT is another, absolutely epic tragedy, but one where the last sequence of events "came out of f*cking nowhere", in the words of our dear Queen, Emilia Clarke......I so agree with the comparison to Titanic and Romeo & Juliet, two of my favorite movies, but GoT was also devastating and traumatizing in a way that the others weren't, all because of jarring and extreme changes to one of the main characters for shock value.....Having said all that, I thought this video was so well done. All those emotions from her dragons' and Missandei's deaths piled up so she lost control. I believe she would've been a greag ruler, possibly the best one. Well Tyrion and Jon trusted her to stop burning everything after the Kings landing surrendered. She did not. So she was the one who failed their trust in the first place. And honestly, I beleive it was right to kill her there. I loved her character, she's amazing, but at this point was going crazy, Daenerys burning city full of people is not Dany we knew and loved in the first seasons. She would probably kill more innocent people. So while I love her character in general, I think what Jon did was the right thing.

Honestly, I like how Dany massacred all the people in King's Landing. I wanted it to be more brutal. Like I wanted Arya to knife Cersi's head or at least have Dany killed by herself or by commading Drogon to burn her. I wanted her to be resurrected and I am imagining that somehow she's still alive.

No, we should talk about how horrible the writers treated her. People want to say that Game of Thrones wasn’t a Disney movie and to have expected anything else was stupid but, Daenerys was one of the only ones who got the short end of the stick. Bran became king, Sansa is queen of an independent North, Arya became Christopher Columbus, Jon got to go beyond the Wall to live out the rest of his life peacefully, Tyrion got Casterly Rock, Bronn got Highgarden, Brienne became Lord Commander, and there’s more I probably forgot to mention. The heroes live happily ever after and the mad queen is destroyed. If those aren’t Disney movie endings, what are?

There was a scene on the books where hundreds of people who were infected by the plague were outside Merreen and she couldn't let them in her city. Her heart was breaking. She personally went to the camp and handed food, burned the dead bodies and washed the sick because her men were scared that they will get sick too. The fire inside her was too strong for her to get infected.
Why didn‘t they put this in the show. ? 😭
@@Grayment They wanted to make her look power hungry and that her compassion was just propaganda. She wasn't an ideal leader but she did more than anyone could have ever done at such a young age while she was dealing with the plague, she was also in a war against Qarth and the slave masters and there was an uprising of the harpies inside the city too. She was also trying to create a source of livelihood for the city while figuring out how to reform slavery into humane employment.

It was Daenerys and her dragons that persuaded me to watch this show. She was by far my favourite character and what D&D did to her in unacceptable. I don't mind her becoming the Mad Queen and I don't mind her dying. But at least make everything more gradual and logical. In the 8th season she was basically used by everyone to beat the White Walkers and then betrayed by those same people. Fuck the writers man.
In the video there's a dialogue " she was chosen as queen bcoz she has a gentle heart " but that quality was lost in the last season...so she deserved to be killed...writers went according to the logic.

Daenerys Targaryen was, is and always will be the single best character in the entire show. She's possibly the best character I've ever seen on television. There's so much gravity to her, so much depth, so much complexity. She is, in simple words, the Queen, in every single definition of the word.

everyone was talking about game of thrones and i didn't give it a chance. The 7 seasons were released and I still haven't forgotten the series until I saw a video on RUclips with Daenerys Targaryen who was saved by her dragon. I put my hand up and started watching the series and I saw a girl who did the impossible, resurrected the legends, made not one dragon but 3 dragons fly in the sky. She was sold by her brother, lied to and betrayed. A girl with only a last name brought the dragons while others said they were just some skulls in some catacombs. In this series they all killed and betrayed for the throne. And she was killed when she was about to be on the throne. From my point of view everything was taken from her and she came with an army and 3 dragons. In this series no one will be able to have the power that she had. It was worth it! She deserved the throne, she deserved the people who loved her and were loyal to her. He took dragons to the sky while others thought they were stories from a book. She is the fire

Jorah was completely right, no one was more fit to rule that she. I felt so sorry that everyone appreciated Jon more than her. She went to help him defeat white walkers and lost so many men and no one appreciated that the way they should have, everyone was going on about how great Jon is... It would make more sense to praise Arya since she killed the Night King after all, and Dany would have agreed with that. But to praise Jon... that really pissed me of. She deserved someone like Daemon Targaryen by her side ,a ruggard tuff man who wears his imperfections as his shield ,a man with his own brains (i'm looking at you Jon Snow).
Somewhere in her life she did have her own version of Daemon Targaryen in Khal Drogo even much more better his love towards Dany was pure he wanted to win the 7 kingdoms for her (man you should have lived atleast your son Raehgo should have for he would have been the last desevering Targaryen).
Wow, when you really think about it, she was betrayed so much. And by the people she trusted most. From her twisted brother in the first season, all the way to her lover’s knife plunging into her heart in the last.
She was never truly safe. Never stood a chance. And I dare say, was never truly happy. The most tragic storyline. The last dragon’s journey was a short and sad one... but also so meaningful and powerful. I love you Daenerys!
She was safe with Jorah, she met the man who killed her in Jorah's absence, she was killed by Jon when he was dead. Jorah always protected her, he stood with her until the end, he knew her, he was wise and Dany trusted him so much because she knew he could keep her alive and safe and that he would do anything for her. Dany lost so much meeting Jon though she didn't know until it was too late.
