Cersei used her people as shield because she can't face Daenerys face to face. No one from Lannisters or Starks won't bend the knee just like that. Arya knew it, Sansa knew it and even Cersei knew it too.
nhb yeah. Robb not marrying that ugly incest woman was bad writing as well because that was so dumb and an unnecessary sentimental decision to make which resulted in something terrible happening. You just hate it because the internet told you so lol
The importance of Olenna's speech was truely underestimated back in season 7. She was the first who suggested Daenerys to be ruthless, to embrice herself for what she really is, to lead as the Targaryen bloodline impose. Due to the fact that House Targaryen has Valeryan blood and magic roots, madness and hunger for power are her destiny and downfall, even if Dany tried to be "more than that" ("more than mother of dragons"). The phrase "let it be fear, then" was so meaningful: she has always wanted to be loved from people (those times are the best moments for her character development, she is compassionate and kind there). And now, in Westeros, she’s spent all this time fighting for people she thought should love her, and when she realizes they never will, she’s willing to let their world burn to punish them. As Olenna said: "[here in Westeros] they won't obey you unless they fear you". So, at the end, love and fear have the same value in her eyes. There's no middle ground.
@@LegendInThaMakin True. They seized the opportunity to take full control of the Reach by submitting when House Gardener got wiped out in Aegon's conquest.
SK ASFAQ HOSSAIN The saying goes for when someone trying to uphold principles for the sake of good and restore order but by doing so for so long eventually find unbalance or fall victim to contradiction in their beliefs This doesn’t apply because Danny chuked her principles and morals out the fuckin window
@Axel - right, that's interesting. I can say Daenerys was set to "go mad" for a while, also agree the writing was disgusting, but stand by my favourite character (DT), but all the hate for Daenerys is a bit weird. You're right, I don't think I ever saw anyone mention that explosion in the Sept, the bell crashing into the streets, buildings burning, innocents dying... I guess Dany's "overwhelming evil" at killing innocents erased all the dead innocents always and everywhere. bs!
Danny had many reasons to burn that city, to destroy everything Cersei had built and imagined. She gave them a chance to surrender but oh..you want to surrender after beheading her family in front of her? Nah, you asked for war, you get it. Perhaps the civilians did not deserve it but as a Queen, Cersei failed, she should be blamed. Her death wasn't satisfying enough. Danny gave options and they refused so she took back what was hers, with fire and blood. I'm glad she cleansed that city of vermin, but sacrifices must be made.
@@hollyxs6212 Bulshit, she herself said she will take it back with blood of her enemies, not blood of innocents. Cersei did not surrender, not them. People in KL did not kill Missandei, they were not responsible for Cersei's action. And what is important, they surrendered and basically betrayed their Queen to surrender. Civilians and army, everyone. She decided to slaughter them anyway, she could take the throne and Cersei, they cleared her way. She decided to slaughter them anyway. There was not any need for sacrifice.
@@ineedmoreflavour1955 why do you fair weather fans always say that shit. It was never the main story.. the show is called game of thrones. Not game of the night king... He was never the main story or even main threat. He was something they would have to over come before the throne. Nothing more. Nothing less.
@@americanrebelking8337 Then why the fuck do the whole White Walker plot in the first place? Besides, the story is not called 'a game of thrones', its called 'a song of ice and fire'. Despite concentrating on the 'thrones' aspect of things, the show still used the 'song of ice and fire' story, plots, characters, and setups. If they wanted to deviate from George's work dramatically, then they should have done that from the beginning.
She’s always my queen. So many people see her as the villain. But nobody sees everything she gave for her country. All of her friends. Two of her dragons. Her hand betrayed her. She did everything she could to circumvent violence. And in the end violence was her only choice. Every choice before that led to every loss she’d ever had. Her own brother betrayed her. Nobody could go through everything she did and not come out broken on the other side
So true, but in the end, when she saw that she won the final war and heard the bell, she had an option to just kill cersei or destroy the castle. But she killed innocents and destroyed the entire city. I still love her but when she heard the bell, if she had stopped there and waited for her army to conquer the city, she would have lived and ruled westeros, which is a happy ending for me :((((
Basically everyone followed her as a hero but in reality some heroes end up tragically doing bad things in the name of their cause. Jaime was trying to reform himself and be his best self with a woman who was positive for him, Brienne, but like so many he couldn’t overcome his addiction to a negative toxic partner. Jon was the classic leader and hero who didn’t want to be a hero but he got a relatively quiet unglamorous ending unlike most of these fantasy heroes. Basically George RR Martin wanted to break fantasy and narrative tropes in Game of Thrones and he did just that. There’s a beautiful realism to his story because things didn’t work out perfect nor even as expected for most characters, just as life never works out as expected
Sopia I think that what she meant when she said that violence was Danaerys only choice was that it was her only choice in her mind to achieve her life goal of taking the iron throne back for a Targaryen. She didn’t have to kill the innocent civilians but she did it to send a message to the rest of Westeros to fear her. She says clearly at the end of the season, “I don’t have love here I only have fear” especially combined with Jon’s rightful claim to the throne she felt her grip on the throne would be very weak if she didn’t make Westeros fear her. The KL massacre was notice to rest of Westeros, look at what I can do, don’t try and take the throne away from me or your cities will be next. However of course it backfired because she never expected her former lover and nephew Jon would kill her.
Please, you're wrong, and you don't understand just how bad the show is. Jon was right damn there, and he stood like a fucking retard.. He didn't show her love,he didn't even talk for the WHOLE EPISODE. @Not Alfie That’s the classic poor justification mix, but it still doesn’t make sense. The writing is unjustifiable. Being hot headed and impulsive has nothing to do with it. That’s not what madness or evil is. In fact evil is cold and calculating. Like Cersei or Littlefinger. Or Sansa in season 8. Arya baked a cake with Frey’s sons. Sansa fed the dogs with Ramsey. I find that far worse than any death Daenerys has ever executed. Much greater perversity and cruelty. None of the people Daenerys killed were innocent. So you can’t justify it either. She didn’t kill civilians or innocents in 81 episodes. Madness or evil take years to complete. Nobody gets like that in a week. She had already lost her son, her husband and her people in one day. It doesn’t make any sense.
@Not Alfie Madness doesn’t work that way. It’s so ridiculous. She goes crazy in one episode, but she forgives Tyrion for a sudden death and still loves Jon. Also Drogon doesn't kill Snow and the unsullied neither. hahaha Season 8 is low-quality humor.

I noticed how she didn't laugh while killing. She didn't want to kill. She either fought and conquered, or she would have died.
This was actually built up since season 2. Daenerys has ALWAYS had mad queen tendencies and a love for "justice" aka murdering those who wronged her. As her dragons grew she started using more and more fire (just like her father) and this "plot twist" was acutally calculated. The only thing D&D did right. Unfortunately, she did not trust in Tyrion since the battle in Casterly Rock. So by that time, she did not trust anyone and wanted revenge by killing Cersei. She smelled that Tyrion was looking for protecting his family, after knowing Cersei was pregnant, and he loves his brother. I think that Daenerys made a huge mistake naming Tyrion as his Hand because his family was the enemy. At the end that she paid that mistake. Also she lost her purpose after knowing John was the rightful heir and she tried to oblige everyone including herself and John to still believe in that purpose, by force the only possible result was the one we saw in the greatest SHOW I have ever seen.

@@tedschellenger1170 Actually, the actors and actresses themselves were disappointed by the season. It was that bad. The show writers didn't even try, which people have the right to complain about because it's their watching that got the show so big for so long.
Ted Schellenger no, there were plenty of problems, it was rushed, people teleporting from the wall to dragonstone etc are problems that have been happening since season 7..... the ending was good but it’s how they got there with rushed character development etc..... fans have invested time and money into the show and do have a right to speak up when they think they’re not getting their money’s worth due to poor writing... people like you who say “it’s not that bad” are what allow writers to ruin shows...
George RR Martin himself said the show needed 13 seasons tie propoly fleshed out.
2:40 her face says it all. "I don't want to do this, but you made me."
I felt her pain.
How did anyone make her burn a city full of innocent children, women and men once they had already surrendered? You must have a sick mind.
Cersei used her people as shield because she can't face Daenerys face to face. No one from Lannisters or Starks won't bend the knee just like that. Arya knew it, Sansa knew it and even Cersei knew it too.
No one made her slaughter infants. She could’ve flown to the Red Keep and killed Cersei. Then she could’ve watched the sun rise on a grateful city.
The Jester it’s called bad writing
Yes, well said.
Well..... that and the fact that the tyrels and all of highgarden were always loyal to the targaryens to the bitter end.

Excellent quote for this
So Cersei can blow up the whole sept of people to avoid her own trial and no one said a word
GremlinzZzZ I actually never thought of this but I agree

@@americanrebelking8337 yes, finally someone said it
@@americanrebelking8337 Then why the fuck do the whole White Walker plot in the first place?
I still love her but when she heard the bell, if she had stopped there and waited for her army to conquer the city, she would have lived and ruled westeros, which is a happy ending for me :((((
Your right she’s not the villain she’s the tragic hero
"She did everything she could to circumvent violence."

Edit: maybe this is cersei fault cuz he dint realease people get of from red keep.
But if dany accept (fake) surendder missandei will be not die. Arya will kill cersei and dany will be rule the seven kingdom without blood. But maybe some people will be think dany is evil like her father.
Sorry bad grammar
@@CRITRATIO Oh my god please get a proper education before posting another comment. It takes everything I have just to understand a sentence.
*A Targaryen alone in the world, is a terrible thing*
Edit: Wow!!! Thnx for the likes.
But she’s not alone. There is also Aegon Targaryen
@@mayumi841 But she wants him the Alab-Targaryen way..... Jon ain't about the life
@@mayumi841 He may have been born as Aegon Targaryen, however he is of Stark blood and was raised as a Stark. With that I hope Jon Snow abandon the Targaryen name and instead rise up to be Jon Stark true King of the North now the New King of the Seven Kingdoms. Targaryen name may die with Daenarys, for she is most likely going to die in the last episode.
I want jon to use his targaryen name hahaha more cool i guess xD
@@RedCloude doubt it
She is the best character in TV history.
one of the best that is for sure!
Sir Barristan "sometimes is better to answer injustice with mercy" , he was trying to save her from her fate, but she didnt listen. My respects to the old man.
night king: im the villian
cersie: nah boy, i am
dany: hold my starbucks cup
*...nah wait **_BURN THEM ALL_*
She did what her father said..
that Starbucks cup burnt her tongue, so she took her anger out on the biggest starbucks branch probably in KL
Who's the villain is a matter of point of view. She burned those retarded peasants who decided to shelter in the red keep, thus declaring their support to cersei and her Lannister crew, so Daenerys can still be seen as the hero by points of view
@@stevenbrock528 You have absolutely no authority or credibility to decide and tell if other points of view are right or not. All you did with this comment is to offer your own opinion
Also, the "unarmed" are setting themselves up as human shields fully knowing what will happen, enabling a tyrant who literally murders babies and their mothers among other atrocities
Daenerys didn't kill any populations in westeros, yet they chose to follow Cerseis side
Night King: Im the fiercest warrior they will ever face.
Mountain: ughhh ugh uuugghhh!!!

Yeah the lady with the dragon fire and the army of land pirates and unichs lead buy the Dwarf they ran out of town for killing their king. The bastard son of the guy they beheaded, and the unich supreme known only as "the spider".
As her biggest fan, I can not stand behind what she did. However, I can't just start hating her after supporting her during the whole show. She'll always be my favorite GoT character.
You don't need to hate her. You can like a character even if he/she does something bad.I love Cersei because I like her story, but I admit she's ruthless. You can do the same with Dany
Okay but as a big fan do you really believe that she would've done this?
@@seancoetzee5399 Exactly!! the season 8 completely shat on Dany's character like wth??
Either you die a hero
Or you live long enough to see yourself become a villian
Like Cersei said herself : "you win or you die"
"perhaps it is good people will see that Daenerys Stormborn made every effort to avoid bloodshed"
- we surrender
- lol no
@Marian Emil SO TRUE!
I have no idea why she had to burn all the innocent people in the city, when she could've easily gone straight for Cersei..
FIFTY- 50 guys, I think you forget a significant percentage of the population was in the red keep as well. Even if she had gone straight to the red keep, and burned only it, a ton of people still would have died.
@@fiftie-i2841 She wanted people to fear her. She got it.
@Marian Emil all she had to do is wait for her army to do whatever armies do while taking a city
@@Felipe-pk5ki well, I doubt that there are any remaining people left to fear her..
“They should know who to blame when the sky falls down open them “ Dany ❤️❤️
Oh my gosh, I got goosebumps! This edit is amazing
I wish they had either added another season or made more episodes. Her descent into madness was too quick for my liking.
I do like the poetics of the situation though. Two Targaryens born at around the same time, 50/50 chance for greatness or madness for both Jon and Daenerys.
Exactly. I have no problem with the concept. And I’m pretty sure the books will end the same way. It’s the execution that’s the issue.
A shame they don't still have two dragons. Could be "A Dance of Dragons" all over again, with Jon on Raegal and Dany on Drogon
It’s the perfect bittersweet ending...with the worst execution imaginable 🤦♂️
@@dimitrijleus drogon
She was always like this when things didn't go the way she wanted. Her advisor were the ones who made her sane. So many times she wanted to use blood and fire to get what they wanted and they talked her out of it. Now she has no one to trust no one strong enough to stop her and she became who she was always
This makes a much more accurate trailer than those provided by HBO.
Right? It’s beautiful
This is a nice Dany edit! It’s a missed opportunity to not have that “Daenerys with drogon’s wings” scene in this.
I think I made this video before the final episode
Of all the Characters in Got I liked and respected Dany's Character a lot and admired the way she took revenge by burning them all.
A true Targaryen
everyone goes with some tragic thing in their life ,that doesn't mean you start to kill innocent people if you've that much power. IMO what she did was pure evil
Brilliant editing. Gave me more satisfaction than the episode itself.
yes because it reminds us of the character we saw developing for 8 years in one consistent direction, not this rushed mess in ep 5
Not too difficult tbh. 😂
