I prefer to call her the Queen Without A Crown. She never inherited the throne but every quality she has shows she deserved it.

by not burning the greens she actually only proved to not have the qualities of a ruler deserving the throne. pretty much like Viserys she had a "kind" heart that wasn't really suitable for a great king/queen.
saying the war is not her to start was utter nonsense- that war directly threatens her house and beloved grandchildren, and bloodline.
she was very vocal and worried about the dangers when Rhaenyra was offered to Laenor.
of course, I'm not saying she was supposed to go all mad and burn the entire King's Landing, but as Tywin said to Tommen- wisdom makes a good king. And not preventing a war between two powerful, dragon-ridding houses is not a wise thing to do.
@@hannibaljustincase9985 if she was the ruler or the heir at that time, I think she would really say dracarys. But at that time she was torn and she didn't picked a side, and she doesn't want to mess up things because the greens are against Rhaenyra. Being a good ruler is checking your impulses, especially being a Targaryen.

It's hard not to love Rhaenys after the last episode. She has every nice quality of a good queen, loyal and honorable. Surely one of the best characters in the show!
He had no real reason to help team black Damon took her daughter away she thinks her son is dead all they've ever done is under my whole house
I love how Rhaenys knows the boys are not her grandchildren, but she still calls them "Jace, Luke, and Joff" with love (you can hear she deeply cares for their wellbeing). The Queen that should have been, indeed
She is still their great-aunt.

@@lanlingmocker Did you even watch show? In book yes, it's ambigous, but in show it's clear that they aren't biologically her grandsons. Rhaenyra herself stated that children aren't Laenor's ("We did try... to conceive a child. We performed our duty as best we could. But to no avail"), and it's clear that Harwin is their father. Beside, Laenor in show is black, and his step-sons are white. It's possible but very rare, that mixed couple have a white child, since dark-skin genes are predominant: exeptions happen, but Rhaenyra gave birth not one, but three white children. A bit too much for a biological exeption.
Well, Laenor considered them his children and loved them as such. Thats a big part of why Rhaenys loves them as well, IMO.
I loved when Rhaenys and Rhaenyra looked at each other and smile, in support, after Corlys pledged his forces to fight for the rightfull Queen
Rhaenys is the most level-headed of the bunch and adapts to the situations as new information arises. She should have been queen. She knows when to stay her hand and when to fight. I hope we get as many scenes as possible with her. By far my favorite character. She's an absolute scene-stealer.
Princess Rhaenys is how you write a strong woman character.

I don't think there's any ONE way to write a strong female character. Obviously we don't need anymore Ms. Marvels (or whatever her name is), but following a singular formula isn't ideal either.

Rhaenys was the only character in House of Dragon who keenly observe every event which happened very dramatically and severely! Although time was against her but she still courageous and hopefull!
She had fast become my favorite character by the midpoint of the season and the back half only further solidified it. I wasn’t sure what her motives were at first but it turns out she’s the most adult, level-headed person that isn’t a warmonger and isn’t chasing the throne with reckless ambition. She cares about her family, her honor, and speaking the truth. Some day she might come to regret not setting the entire coronation ceremony of Greens on fire during Aegon’s ascension, but as she said, it wasn’t her war to fight.

She is so good, kind and powerful. One of my favorites. She lost son, daughter, cousin and her birth right. I hope she would have good ending ( but I sadly doubts that ). She would be amazing queen

She died in an ambush and her body was so charred they weren’t sure if it was hers only that it had fallen by her dead dragon.
Not that she didn’t go down fighting. She knew she was outnumbered but she fought bravely on dragon back

Eve Best is truly admirable, she is so good at playing the wise and strong woman she is, I love watching her on screen.
She would have been an amazing queen. She is like an Olenna always knows how to play the game.

Beautifully, and expertly done! I have admired Rhaenys in the books, and especially in the show. This video edit helps bring her character to life! Edits like yours help show how incredible these stories are, just as everyone from House of the Dragon, and the actress Eve Best whom has portrayed Rhaenys, have done a phenomenal job bringing this whole time period from George R. R. Martin's books to life in its' own living and breathing universe. Just as the cast before them did, in Game of Thrones. & as George R. R. Martin has done creating this universe.

I don't understand why they changed her appearance. Do they not read the books? Her mother was a baratheon..the seed is strong!! Her hair was pitch black.
GRRM originally described her as silver-haired. They wanted show watchers to catch that she is Targaryen.

When Rhaenys mounted her dragon and stormed into the coronation, she killed a couple hundred people. I know it didn't matter then. Who will think about ordinary people? But why didn't we, modern people, pay attention to this? I loved Reyenice, but after this scene I can't look at her as before...

I hated the Order of things in ‘The House of Dragon’ To me Lord Corlys is right she should’ve been Queen ( the Order is such an anti-Feminist view of things.. I wish Rhaenys inherited the throne as well Rhaenrya as it was her birthright respect viserys wishes and to avoid all the upcoming bloodshed)
