The last line of Luke “I’m not like you… not so perfect” and transitions to Rhaenyra’s miserable and vengeful look is the most perfect end both for the show and this edit. The fact that Rhaenyra could’ve been a good Queen but the amount of pain and betrayals she’ll face from this point onwards will seal her fate. In the end she couldn’t be a ‘perfect’ queen.

What is tragic about rhaenyra's life ( beside what's going to happen to her during the dance) is that even when she was named HEIR in front of everyone still that wasn't enough to accept her she needs to fight for what is hers. I'm enjoying your videos so much lately.
That’s exactly my thoughts, like Viserys said in 8th episode “why is there treaty for settled succession?” Viserys had long proclaimed Rhaenyra as the heir, not once had he showed second thoughts even after having 3 sons. The whole point of civil war was so unnecessary and resulted in many deaths of whole council and also dragons especially when Aegon himself also didn’t wanted to be king from the start.
If the King Visery's had put it in his will that the succession was his 1st born daughter and then his other children in order if his 1st born daughter had died without children then the seven kingdoms would have to follow his will as it would be law so no civil war. The Hightowers are just leeches for power.
Viserys cannot supersede the agnatic primogeniture laws of the realm and his house.
The Kingship passes from Father to Eldest Son.
@@drdst27 The King could write his legal will which would be law. It has been done before. The King could write a legal will stating very clearly who his heir would be after his death and if they died without issue then who would be the heir after that. It would be very clear but Westeros doesn't seem to make laws. The small council just governs without making any type of laws. That is what her father should have done.

The face that Rhaenyra makes in the end is the same that Deny did when Missandei died an expression of pure hatred and pain together with an expression of one who wants to reduce the world to ashes.

Recieving the news that one of one's sons like in rhaenyra's case or seeing a son/daughter or the closest of friends forcefully losing their life at the hands of another like in Daenerys case, is enough to turn even the happiest and most open minded and kind person to madness due to the anger caused by that one moment against the person who did it either by the hands of a lannister or the greens...

I like how the series portrays child birth as it was in the past. Incredibly dangerous to take on knowing so many who died during birthing complications. The scene where she delivers her own child, dead, then swaddles him in burial clothes is one of the most heart wrenching ever portrayed. Then her crowning as queen at her child's funeral shows how much her brilliant mothering was truly seen and respected in the realm. It is a beautiful thing.

how come that both daenerys and rheanyra are far more fitting to rule the seven kingdoms but some tragic storyline ruins it for them only for a man to become king again. I want to see a happy targaryen queen for once 🥲

It's based on history and woman are biological weaker than men that's why it's always controversial for people to see woman as equal and capable as man in those time no matter how better she prove herself, even now in many part of world woman's are second citizen because many man don't consider them as equal, its biological disadvantage of having a womb not all writer fault. Martin tried to remain realistic in their attempt of writing woman and their position in history
In Daenerys case it was the bad writing of D&D in the last seasons that ruined her character. In the books even despite her tribulations, Daenerys hasn't been shown as a despotic ruthless ruler, at least not yet. If anything she's compassionate and does wish to be a good queen to her people, which was shown when she tried to help the sick refugees in Meereen even though she could have been infected as well. In Rhaenyra case, history was not kind on her. Maybe we'll see in later seasons how her character develops. Maybe she'll not be as bad as how people of Westeros remember her.

@@LeonardLuzon I do kinda agree with critics but I also understand the writer’s point in unsuccessful reigns of women in this universe. Daenerys is obviously a victim of bad writing while like above commenter said history hasn’t been kind to Rhaenyra. Part of the reason would be that so far there’s only 3 female heirs we’ve heard off. Rhaenys being first one was denied by ‘men of the realm’ to even have a chance. Rhaenyra finally got a chance but was denied to achieve it successfully, in such a way that it blocked the chance for another female heir to ever rise. Finally came Daenerys who not only got the chance but was also able to achieve it but in the end there was nothing left for her to showcase it at all.
Her faith was tragic but I feel that in the Game of thrones and house of the dragon universe bloodlines existing matters the most. It was a cruel faith for her as an individual but she still won the war in the future perspective as it was HER bloodline that continued. It's still a win.
OH PLEASEEEEEE I CAN'T WITH THE FINAL TRANSITION OF LUKE'S WORDS AND RHAENYRA'S FACE AFTER KNOWING HE'S DEAD!!! I'm in heavy pain. Besides that, this an amazing and breathtaking tribute. All hail The Black Queen!
And knowing how the ‘perfect’ Rhaenyra is gonna turn out in the future is as heartbreaking.😭

It will never fail to enrage me that Viserys poured nearly two decades into training Rhaenyra to ascend the throne. He trained her, guided her, and set her up for success by passing on wisdom and advice; utilizing teachable moments, impressing the gravity of being ruler was about much more than desire & pleasure. Yet the lords of the realm will argue that Aegon is the better choice because he has a D between his legs? Genitalia has nothing to do with skill and experience, political thinking and diplomacy, or ruling a kingdom. Rhaenyra was educated to be queen. Aegon was left to be a spoiled child who never suffered the consequences of his foul actions. He ends up being a completely sh*t king because he has no idea what he's doing and those around him only see to their own interests. Misogyny caused the dance of dragons, which weakened the Targaryen line for generations. By the time Viserys dies, Rhaenyra has all the trappings to secure a dynasty (numerous sons, a husband with "the right" name, etc). There was no strategic or politicalreason to deny her the crown besides misogyny.
I know why Otto wanted his puppet of a grandson on the throne, but the rest of the realm? Ridiculous.

Personally I hope aegon the second realises that erasing her from history as queen meant nothing to her the only reason she stayed and fought to be queen and what was rightfully hers was because of a promise she made her father and the prophecy. She wouldn’t care if her name is in the history books or not as long as she did her job and her bloodline stayed on the throne. She would’ve made a great queen had the alicent and otto not plunged the realm into war and the Lannisters take off with all the gold.

Rhaeneyra was open-minded and ambitious Princess. Her only bad luck was she stuck between her dreams and her relations!
I wouldn't describe it as bad luck. I'd rather like to think about a situation, from which she could learn. Learn to name what she want; what sie doesn't want. Listening to her words about her mother, being a woman, wanting to be a knight rather, I believe, that she is much afraid of the life as woman. Of simple things, like giving birth to a child; much like her mother. And maybe die while doing so. Like her mother. For us, viewers, it is so simple to watch the scenes, unless we don't have had the experience, and can relate to it. In the podcasts, that followed the series, Ryan Condal talked about the situation of women, giving birth to children. Which, by the way, is still, in 2024, one of the largest reasons for a woman's death. Because of unassisted births, because of not having the circumstances, that would enable a safe birthgiving for all women. So, I fully understand Rhaenyra, that she partly was traumatized through the death of her mother and spiraled out of track.

No matter what she does next season I know I will still support her. She didn’t commit any war crimes and even if she did they were the correct course of action so they were not war crimes. I know it’s not true but she did nothing wrong, ever, in her life.
