The call of Aaron’s home run in 1974 still sends chills down your spine. Not only was Vin Scully a part of baseball, he was a part of some of the iconic moments in this country’s history.
dustinwhite-Vinnie also called The Catch, the game winning touchdown pass from Joe Montana to Dwight Clark that gave the San Francisco 49ers a 28-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC Championship in 1982, propelling them to Super Bowl 16.
Vin Scully was a sports icon for almost 70 years. He was an American sports treasure and always made the best calls ever, and some of the most historic. Everyone will remember mostly, though, his beginning words: “It’s time for dodger baseball!” We will always remember you, Vin. Rest in peace, you are the greatest.
Well said!! ❤️
He was a hall of fame human being. Overall great person.
He’d say: “Pull up a chair, we’re just getting started.”
He's a master of storytelling and lets the crowd do the talking after big moments in a baseball game whether it's a dodgers or a national broadcast. There will never be another broadcaster like Scully. He's one of a kind.
@M I see you copy and paste this everywhere! Soccer is so boring and stupid! And no it’s not pamper popular than sports like football, basketball, baseball, or even Golf!
@@ConnorMiller417 It is all he does.
What a pathetic existence.
Master at his craft
@M bot
May this iconic legend rest in peace.
@M Well everyone loves a good act
@M bot
Rest in peace to one of, if not the most iconic voice in all of baseball.
Rest easy, Vin.
Vin was THE iconic voice.
@M didnt ask
@M soccer also has 0 physical contact, 0 game strategy and a high scoring game in soccer is 1-0. I wonder why it’s not popular in America😂
@M 9 out of the 15 highest paid athletes ever are American. Only 3 out of the top 15 were soccer players. There are no plays in soccer, just skinny dudes running around aimlessly. 50% of the games end in a damn tie. A skinny person fakes an injury every 2 minutes. 100% of soccer players can’t bench 250. It is a game for children
@M No one cares.
“It’s time for Dodgers baseball”
-Vin Scully 1927-2022
We have lost a legend
Even people who werent Dodgers fans will miss him
"In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened."
That was Jack Buck on cbs radio with that calk
@@michaeldimeo8063
You're right... so I changed it.
Darn memory failure...
@@michaeldimeo8063 “no jack buck was I don’t believe what I just saw.”
@@nikshallon4087
It was my error. I had posted the Buck call instead of Scully's.
I’ve never heard Vin’s call of Hammerin’ Hank’s 715th.
I am crying.
Thats because Milo Hamilton made that call....
@@jamescook6564 Did you watch the video?
@@jamescook6564 I'm confused..
@@jackbartlett30 thats on you...
Milo Hamilton called Hank Aaron's 715th home run not Vin Scully.
@@jamescook6564 They both called it, no? Vin Scully was calling for the Dodgers and Milo for the Braves? You can find both calls on youtube, they're clearly different...
I have no words. I loved this man, and his every word on air. Dodger Baseball, the sounds, the feel, the soul, will never be the same.
I have taken so many unintended naps in my life listening to Vin. I miss him dearly.
Truly a legend
He was the Bible of Baseball ⚾ knowing every detail of the game and each player too describing the game like a story, Rest In Blue Heaven Vin Scully.
His call of Sandy Koufax’s perfect game is the most beautiful moment in sports broadcast history.
‘It is 9:46pm.’
We will miss him❤
A true gift from God. I will miss Vin.
I am a Blue Jays fan but sometimes I watched the Dodgers games late at night just to listen to Vin Scully when he was still calling games. I call him the Bob Cole of baseball. He will be missed.
Legend
Rest in peace vin scully a true dodger commentator 🙏
LEGEND
He was a true gentleman of broadcasting. All of baseball will miss him.
"High fly into right field, she is... GONE!!!"
Vin and Sandy Koufax. Just so must greatness.
I’m 25. I’m young but I know The impact that Vince Scully had on the game. The last Dodgers game I was at was almost 20 years ago and I remember people bringing their own radios at the game so that they can listen to them despite the fact they were their personally. If I’m honest I never imagine a time without Vin Scully he has been there as long as Time itself for me. Everything I’ve known about Vin Scully has been that he has been possibly one of the greatest humans on earth. The fact that he is no longer with us almost scares me. He will without a doubt be the best announcer ever. he know how to tell a great story. The best thing about vin was that he seen by a grandfather figure for most people in my opinion. The world will never be the same without him. May he rest in peace, and I wish his family the best.
Rest in Peace to a legendary human, everyone loves him, he is a lovable person, a smart man, and a great commentator. Rest In Peace Vin, we all love you
There never has been another broadcaster/sportscaster like Vin Scully, and I don't think there ever will be. Because he kept his career for 67 years, you immediately recognized his voice during any Dodgers Game. Plus he always had a lot of enthusiasm when he was speaking about home runs being accomplished for example. Hopefully, he will be an inspiration for future sportscasters to come. I express my condolences to his family members and friends. Rest in peace Vin, and I hope to meet you in the afterlife.
He was the greatest sportscaster ever.
Ever 👍
Thank you for 67 years of loyalty to the Dodgers organization. Nobody has seen more baseball history than you Vinny
May the great MLB Vin Scully announcer rest in peace ❤
Rest in Peace VIN. As a Dodger fan for long time, since when I was a kid I enjoyed every games you announced wherever I was at times, home watching games on TV, on radio while driving rushing home to catch the game, etc. Calling Kirk Gibson's homer in 88 world series, it's something I never forget.
Vin Scully - The GOAT of GOATs. ⚾️
Amazing! Rest In Peace
I am going to miss this sports broadcaster because I grew up watching the Dodgers and the A's. It is really sad to see us lose this guy. This man really loved his job! He made the viewer and listener feel important. Rest in peace sir! I am praying for the Scully family. Peace! You were one of the best!!
There will never be anyone as great as Vin Scully!
Listening to Vin Scully over the radio with my grandpa in his garage, on a slow summer day, is my idea of heaven. Blue Heaven, that is. LETS GO DODGERS
From Sandy to Clayton the legendary commentator will live in our hearts forever.
It’s an honor to have listened to him live.
Will never be another voice. Gonna miss ya Vin
I will watch videos like this for a long long time to remember this voice of my childhood. I have been so blessed to have the greatest to ever touch that mic narrate all of my Dodgers childhood memories. God bless you Vin
I call Vin Scully _the reference standard of sports broadcasting excellence_ . Rest in peace.
Vin Scully was a 🐐
Not a, the.
@@N1120A my bad your right
Love you Vin. I’m glad I was able to take my kids to your last year of broadcasting at Dodgers stadium in 2016! Win For Vin!! 🧢⚾️💙🕊🙏🏼
Since it's conspicuous by it's absence, I'll add one more:
"A little roller up along first, behind the bag, it gets through Buckner. Here comes Knight and the Mets win it!"
Thank you so much for your great commentary. I will never forget you as a Dodger fan
You are the reason I am a fan today.... Rest easy, Vin.
Thank You for all the great moments Vin. You are missed already by baseball fans who followed you all theses years.
Crazy to think how one man like Vin Scully has been around the game of baseball for so long, has witnessed some of the most supreme moments of all time
I ❤ you Vin, thanks for the memories.
Such a Majestic Voice!!
The legend the icon need I say more.
You must miss you, Vic! Rest in peace.
Listened to the last out of Sandy Koufax's perfect game on the radio driving home today. Sent shivers up my spine.
I'm never going to forget the day, Dave Kingman had a day to remember, he hit a monster fly ball and my leg had gotten stuck between two chairs, I can still here on someone's transistor radio saying he better look out or someone is gonna get hurt. He made the right call back then...""""FOR SCULLY """"
It's too bad Lasorda passed away before someone had a chance to ask him what he thought of Kingman's performance.
He sure did,. Tommy was pissed he hit 3 home runs that day, look it up, he goes off..
@@gregorymartinez4422 I know, I was joking. That clip is legendary.
I hate the DODGERS, but i loved Vin Scully. U knew it was Baseball season when u heard his voice. My Uncle who was blind , loved to hear him on his little radio. Vince Scully made Baseball exciting to watch. No one comes close to this special announcer. God Be with you Vince we love you!!
You were a legend and an icon Vin. Jesus you will be missed.
The Gibson call is by far his best, he waited for over a minute after the ball had left the park to call "In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened"
The Gibson call is legendary.
But it isn't the ninth inning of Sandy's perfect game.
'It is 9:46pm.'
Which one? Two of them are legendary
my condolences. a nice guy.
Never listened to Vin Scully as I’m not a Dodgers fan. However, he is clearly an American icon, not just a baseball icon. So much of what is said about him, I relate because to me, Bob Uecker is the same. I’m sure there have been millions of young boys like me who listened to baseball on the radio many summer nights with one voice always feeling like it alone was baseball. Rest in peace Vin Scully. We love baseball because of men like you.
May there be more lovely afternoons with Vin there and heart.
Honorable mention: 1981 nfc championship game "it's a mad house at candlestick"
What a man.He was the best.Said so little and always said just enough.Let us fill in the gaps...genius
May we all do a good deed to honor the gentleman who was, in addition to being the best sportscaster ever, an even better human being.
Vin Scully is proof that in spite of everything else, there is still good in the world.
We should all strive to be more like him.
Vin was one of a kind. He was baseball.
Vin wasn't just baseball. He was everything that was GOOD about baseball.
We were so lucky to have him in our lives.
Love ❤️ you VIN
Best of all time
loved his history lessons!
Respect 🫡.
You missed his legendary call and commentary when Billy Chapel pitched a perfect game against the Yankees 😂😂
Gibson coming out for the at bat garnered a WWF-like reaction from the fans.
Thanks Vin
Awesome
i cant believe i just watched a guy call a game in 1956 and in 2016
"with 2 out, you talk about a roll of the dice....well this is it": he wasnt talking about Kirk Gibson, hes talking about Tommy rolling the dice! Gibson made Lasorda look like a genius.
Vin Scully was a treasure.
“What a marvelous moment for the country and the world. A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South”🗣💯💯💯
he really was in the league for a loooong time

Vin Scully was the greatest broadcaster in all sports😢😢
One day Vin told how he decided to become a baseball announcer. As a kid, he used to lie on his back under the family radio and listen to ballgames. He said the roar of the crowd was what he fell in love with. I was in the Dodger Pepsi Fan Club. Any others out there?

On a side note.. the modern day pitcher's mound looks absolutely FLAT compared to those in the 60s. Wow.
Greatest announcer in sports history not even close
Wow the second i heard his voice i was lk yep ok then i was lk damm what a great loss.
The voice of Baseball. Period.
Yup
Thank you Vin Scully for for sharing all your talents with us for so long truly dedication and love for the game
That’s crazy how long he did commentary.. 1956?? And to think he had only retired a few years before the Dodgers won the 2020 series
1950-2016.
Sixty seven years.
SIXTY SEVEN YEARS!
The fact I have not heard absolutely nothing bad being said about this man is a testament to how amazing he was and how dearly he will be missed. We have lost our Voice of Summer, we'll miss you Vin
The Hank Aaron call is really one of the most underrated baseball calls of all time.
Man I’m shocked more ppl aren’t talking About It. That was a very bold call to make at that time. But coming from him, you know it’s genuine.
