My ragdoll sadly passed away earlier this month. His name was Fluff. He was a constant source of love and cuddles. He was actually naturally skinny; I'd never known him to get anywhere above a normal weight. He was a little goofball as well. He liked being on top of things riding on your shoulder, and he was scared of the sound of crinkling plastic. He liked eating soft papers like tissues and toilet paper, so we had to keep those where he couldn't get them. He was my best little buddy and I miss him dearly.

I've had two beloved Rag Dolls. The one we have now, we call Cupid Pie. She is so loving and sweet, & has hg even athletic too! She eats wellness pate’ or other foods which include moisture mixed in. She loves company and yes she’d be lost emotionally if left alone a lot. As it is we are here or one of us is here at least most of the time and she has her social bed and food bowl, etc. we would NEVER let her outdoors except in a wire big kennel we got, plus a kitty carriage like a stroller we can wheel her around in! She is timid and our other cat is older with half rag doll genes, and this other one is an alpha cat. We’ve taught them the words, “ Now you girls behave” and then the older cat chooses to leave Cupid ( ❤Cutie Pie) alone and use the other cat bed . Our young Rag Doll is a real honey. Adorable. She loves to jump up on the same chair to be brushed every day! And she loves to play.

My ragdoll walked herself into my house a few years ago and decided it was going to live here. She goes in and out of the house whenever she wants. Now I love cats.

We had a Ragdoll come to our house. He was lounging on our picnic table in the yard, like he was waiting for me to come home. When I went to the door, he jumped down and tried to come in the door. I fed him outside for a couple of weeks. He was so sweet! He got in a fight one night. I took him to the vet the next day and brought him inside. He was the smartest, funniest cat I had ever seen. Really knew nothing about Ragdolls. I saw a book on cat breeds and realized what he was. He was the most gorgeous cat in the world. He was a rare color. He was a mitted, red lynx. He was white and red. He had green eyes. He got a lung disease. I wailed when we lost him. We were able to have him for a year after he was diagnosed. We lost him 11 years ago, and I still miss him. We have 2 female Ragdolls, now. Daisy is a huge girl. Esme is small. They are our babies. They follow us everywhere and talk all day long.

I have a Ragdoll who is 11 months old. We got him at 10 weeks old. He is totally an indoor boy and doesn’t seem to mind that at all since he has never known anything different. I started when he was a kitten carefully trimming his front nails every week and he doesn’t mind that at all. I brush him every 2 or 3 days (more now that it is summer in Maine and a little warmer) and he seems to love that. He does have a very sensitive stomach and upchucks every few weeks. I think it is a combination of eating too fast and ingesting some hair when he grooms himself. We are totally in love with our boy and getting a Ragdoll was a wonderful choice for us. I highly recommend it!

Dianne, she might be bored, they're ridiculously intelligent. You could try training her like you would a dog (with treats for doing it right, or trying), to stop her doing things you don't like, or to ask her to do things that are fun. If she doesn't have access to the garden, or even if she does, try training her to wear a harness and take her for short walks round the garden then outside (be aware of dogs, other pets, people who are about in case they or she doesn't react well), there are quite a few good vids on youtube on how to go about this. Raggies are incredibly intelligent and she probably has some specific meows for specific things (yes, no, and i've pooped clean my tray slave are my boys 3 main noises). You can also try dog treat puzzles, playing fetch, cat/dog playmats, etc. My boy knows the names of his treat toys (he has 4), fave soft toys, his beds, vets, my best mates name and his cats, the difference between me saying won't be long (going to the bins or local shop for 10 mins) and bye bye (day in office or long shop). Just be consistent and she'll catch on really quickly - also pay attention to what she does, she's also training YOU!

I just got a little Seal Bi color Lynx ragdoll at 15 weeks as a companion for my male Balinese that just lost his litter mate companion and was mourning very bad. He would pace the house and cry all day and night looking for his companion even after 5 months. So we got a kitten for him and she is absolutely the most perfect kitty. She LOVES him and will run up to him and throw her tail over his back and lean into him to say hello. SO CUUUUTTEE! She is so adorable, smart and cuddly. And she’s just a kitten! I can’t wait till she gets bigger and more fluffy (even though she’s SUPER fluffy right now) and loses a bit of her kitten beast mode attitude that keeps her bebopping all around the house lol.. My friends ragdoll is like a giant stuffed animal. He only meows when it’s feeding time or wanting to play.. But the rest of the time you can pick him up and hold him upside down or on his back and he will just sit there purring like a friggin race car engine lol.. As long as its not hurting him or uncomfortable he will let you carry him any way you want and he will just sit there purring! I have a seal bicolor Ragdoll named Remi. He is 10 months old and unlike any other cat I have had. A floppy bundle of love! He’s almost like a dog in many ways. He follows me around everywhere…he doesn’t want to be in a room where I am not. He is always present when we have visitors as well as wanting to be in the middle of large gatherings. When UPS, the post, or any other deliveries come to the house, he races to the window, stands up on his hind legs to see who it is. He’s very curious and he makes us laugh everyday. He is the perfect house guest with better manners than some humans 😂. He is quiet and doesn’t meow unless he needs something or wants to show me something. Remi is a fantastic hunter…and catches flies mid air. He’s especially keen on keeping any spiders at bay..I think he knows how afraid I am of them! He can “give five”, sit and jump on command and he’s just learned how to fall over when we say “bang.” A phenomenal breed that craves human companionship and shouldn’t be left for long periods of time alone. I have 2 beautiful, 18 yr old dollies. They are doing very well except both have arthritis in the rear joints. We just finished a 6 week course of cold laser therapy and will now go every other week. Our vet was their baby doc and only services felines. She recently brought a Certified Cat Groomer on board so we are on a maintenance plan getting baths, blow outs and trims every 6-8 weeks. They are extremely loving, crave attention, trained to do many things such as fetch and have been extremely happy since the Pandemic because I now work from home. When I leave just to go to the store they usually get very upset!

I adopted a kitten that I'm 99% positive is a lilac lynx point ragdoll. His body limps when picked up and every kitten I've looked at for reference to find out what he is, he fits that description perfectly. I know he has separation anxiety or at least abandonment issues, as soon as he can't see you or you walk out of a room he starts to meow for you. One time he had turned away from me to chase a toy, stopped, meowed, and when I said "Bud, I'm right here" he turned around fast and started to purr. He'll do this adorable trill when he's in mid-pounce and he'll make these little grunting noises when playing. He's maybe 2 months, I'm starting to harness train him and trying to find a high protein/low or non-existent carb treat for him so I can start trying to clicker train him like I have with my tuxedo cat. He unfortunately thinks all treats are toys lol, and will bat them around.
Any recommendations on treats are high appreciated. My tuxedo loves freeze dried raw Ahi Tuna as his high value treat and I've been trying to get this little guy to eat the same, maybe the freeze dried raw salmon or chicken, but no go so far.

Ragdolls are amazing cats BUT they are EXTREMELY needy. This video is accurate. Our boy HATES to be without company and will follow us around everywhere in the house, talk constantly and yes, your privacy will cease to exist. We love him alot though. Ragdolls require ALOT of attention but are very good natured and an absolutely gorgeous breed.

We recently got 2 ragdolls from a breeder who could no longer care for them due to many issues. They were kept in 100+ degree cages and poorly fed. We took them to the vet and they were rated as 2 on the 1-10 scale of malnutrition, with sores and infections. we have not yet seen their true personality as they are still in survival mode. we keep them in a room with many soft places to sleep, a constant human (quiet one) and hiding places when they feel the need. My first ragdoll (blue bi-colour in the profile pic) was adopted from a shelter at the age of 2 or 3, although the shelter pages had his age at 5. I had never heard of a Ragdoll before, but I love large cats. He wasn't a lap cat at all and wasn't keen on being picked up (unless he was lying on his side and I scooped him up with a hand under his shoulders and one under his hips, only then would he not put up a struggle). He was my faithful companion for 12 years, going on walks with me (he wouldn't allow a harness) most days... I had to keep a close eye on him on our walks around the large yard because the minute I stopped to talk to a neighbor, he would wander out of sight. The best cat ever and his death about devastated me. After about 6 weeks I needed a cat fix and decided to go visit the cats in the shelter just to say hi and get in some pets and the second cat I saw was a 5 year old ragdoll (seal bicolour mid high white) that had been surrendered by his owner, once I saw him I was going home with a cat. I've now only had him a couple of days, but I am realizing that there are certain Ragdoll traits that they both share that I didn't realize were Ragdoll things.

When she rubs her face on me I pet her head or the side of her face and she bites me, sometimes it's really hard other times I barely feel it. I don't understand why she does this. I'm not petting her belly or being aggressive with her when this happens. I've woken up in the middle of the night because she's biting my feet.

Pretend you’re a mommy cat trying to train her. Whenever s/he bites you growl like a mommy cat would and move away. Or if s/he is trying to eat your food while you’re trying to eat it. Don’t reinforce the behaviour by letting her continue on. In other words, disengage if they keep trying. Hissing like a cat can also work, but moreso with aggressive or dangerous behaviours eg doing something unsafe like the cat trying to go outside or beat up another cat.

My 10 month ball of fluff seal point Ragdoll is Bertie, he is such a fussy eater, he doesn’t eat much wet food he prefers his expensive biscuits. He just grazes on his biscuits throughout the day and night, and has his water fountain because he would only drink from a tap before getting him this..
He is so funny, and only really sleeps on his back. I’ve had to hide his dreamies (I call them his crack) because he found them and ripped open the packet and ate the lot.
He loves to play boo, and I swear he says boo when he jumps out at me, well he makes a noise so it’s basically boo 😂 He plays fetch and likes to play football..

Ummm, this is for every cat. Here are some tips from an owner of a 14yr old ragdoll, specifically for their breed
1.) don't let the groomers/vet shave them completely, their fur takes YEARS to grow and may never fully grow back.
2.) if they are throwing up their food/diarrhea they often have an allergy to fillers and need purely hydrogenized meat; no grain, no fillers. Common ragdoll issue I found with breeders and other owners.
3.) they're super easy to train to walk on a leash, start them off as kittens right away
4.) they remain playful throughout their life, like a kitten, have others cats and toys for them to stay entertained and they'll need more of your attention

My sweet Ragdoll, Kinsey Marie, is almost 4 and a delight to me...beautiful but doesn't like to snuggle or be picked up. She is the ideal cat for an old lady (81) such as me. She sleeps with me at night on the bed and doesn't wake me up. She gets up when I get up and we sort of snuggle as she likes to be close to me all day. Up until this season she would get matted and would hate it if I brushed her or if I took her anywhere to be groomed.
Last year, at my wits end, I took her to be sedated while being groomed. This year, wonder of wonders, she has learned to groom herself so well that she no longer gets matts. Best "trick" ever! Even without that I love her more and more each day. She is showing more affection the older she gets. I'd say that if your Raggie is aloof, just wait awhile and don't force yourself on her and even if it's slow you both will come to an understanding that you both will like.

I own two Ragdoll kittens, just got them last week, there both boys, one is white and one is grey, the grey one is named Jack, and the white one is named Ace. there named those because my mom one the lottery of 3k dollars playing cards with the cards named Ace and Jack, that's how they got there names. My mother got the kittens from a backyard breeder, the lady gave the kittens to us for 1,300 dollars for one of them, so all together was 2,600 dollars, the lady was really sweet, my mother told me this story, I wasn't there because it was a surprise. My mom said the lady who was selling kittens had 2 percians and 3 ragdolls I think. and the lady had an 11 year old daughter, after I got the kittens I found out a lot of people in the internet was saying avoid backyard breeders, because they would give out sick cats or it's just bad for people to do that. I was really scared, the kittens went to the vet yesterday to get a check up and there first shots, the vet doctor said the kittens were healthy, the Grey kitten, Jack had a little bit of ear wax, but they said its nothing to worry about. And they gave us medicated for the kittens so it prevents the kittens from getting fleas, and Heart worms. Im going to the vet in a few weeks, so they can check if the kittens have any worms in them. My kittens are very happy and they got used to are house very fast, they play together all the time. There really happy here, for there age, there about 2 months old, they sleep in the bathroom for now with food water and a bed and a litter box till there older, we do this so they don't roam around the house at night and get into trouble while were sleeping. the kittens were pretty cheap only because we didn't get a birth paper, but it okay, I think it useless anyways because my mom said my dog Lily, on her birth paper, it said she was suppost to be a Tea-Cup chihuahua, but when she got older, she wasn't a Tea-Cup chihuahua. so I think birth papers don't have a point besides vets asking for them, but all they want is the birth date of the kittens, and they were born on April 9th, (I think, i can double check). other then that, my kittens are very happy and healthy, Im taking well care of them, there very sweet and playful. :)

I never let my Ragdoll cat outside since it is an indoor cat

No cats ought to be outdoors in Australia. Firstly a beautiful cat could easily be stolen. Also cats kill so much wildlife and the feral population is enormous.

Best cats ive ever had and ive had many cats in my life. They are smart and sweet and follow me if i go get a soda in the kitchen they come with me. They never go alone like regular cats..one of my cats loves going in the stroller even in the house. She jumps out to drink at the sink then jumps back in and meows lets go! They are funny a lot of fun and also purry lap cats. Our male cat bonded with my daughter and our female older cat bonded with me and my mother. ❤

I wanted to ask...my ragdoll male is 1.5 year old and his weight started to drop...he is now the same weight as 5 months back 3.9kg max he had was 4.2... do you think its normal as he is growing or could that mean that he hassome kind of disease? He is eating but not that much he loves snacks tho. On the other hand female is 3 months younger and she is 5kg now...and she is always eating, what do i do with her, it seems like she can never have enough...and yes she got fat in last month or 2.

I’d advise you take him to a vet for a thorough examination.

we've had our Rag Doll for 11 years. We are frequently gone for 5 to 8 hours and he always wants attention when we get home. He seems happy to see us, but after a short time rubbing against us, he is off to his place somewhere in the house. He sometimes is more like a dog than a cat because he follows us room to room. He loves to hop on my GF's chest and put his paws around her neck and nuzzle into her neck. I've never seen a cat do that! Rag Dolls are such a wonderful loving cat.

I have a beautiful 17 year old, Tiffany Diamond, who is funny, sassy and adorable. I can't describe how much she means to us. She is the Baby and she rules with love! She enjoys sitting between my legs but hates to be picked up, as stated. She weighs 9 pounds and is small but powerful. If I brush her and she isn't ready, she waites about 10 to 15 minutes and comes back and bites my leg, not hard, but to let me know she didn't like it. I will miss her when she is gone. Every day is precious and photo time.

why does my ragdoll always bite and hiss at me for no reason? it's really annoying and my arms are all scratched up

    • @tamivega6225
      @tamivega6225 2 года назад

For no reason? Well... your cat has a reason or they wouldn't do it. You just don't know what it is. Study your cat. Try different things. Find out what they like and don't like. Maybe you are just a very annoying person. 😁

@@tamivega6225 well, i've been abused for the longest time ever and during that time that's when i got my kitten bella, there was always shouting from my abuser slamming doors throwing things on the ground and i think my kitten just grew to hate us and the loudness, or maybe its because she's always in heat? she always comes to me whenever she's scared or whenever she wants somewhere to sleep but when i try to touch her or help her up when she's stuck she hisses at me and does this growling thing, i've always cared for bella but it's either that she's scared of humans because of my abuser or she just doesn't like people

Mine is a rescued kitten now about 13 years old. Her mother was a short haired tortie mostly black who was dumped near my friend's home in Mullan, ID, while.pregnant. She was only survivor kitten. She is a long-haired, blue eyed, beige with tortie points. She the sweet heart of my life since my Persians passed away. But she has an independent streak. Very smart but likes to sleep with me at night. Only other cat besides her mother that was acceptable to her was a long haired black male who hung like a ragdoll when picked up. Unfortunately, he had to be put down at 3 years of age due to urinary tract infection. He was also a delight with gorgeous emerald green eyes. Another rescue! Our other 2 current cats are shorthaired ginger neutered males which Rahnee detests. They are not allowed outside. Rahnee is definitely biased to ragdoll cats or maybe it is the color black?
