Someone mentioned to me that the ferrite core on the router is actually a security tag with a plastic cover on it. Might want to pop yours open and check.

@@kpurintun that explains a lot. No more secret conversations near the CNC from now on.

Eliminating EMI is fairly simple, use properly grounded shielded wiring.
All of the equipment I work on which have high voltage and low voltage cables running through the drag chains use shielded cables and we don't have any issues with EMI. I'm using shielded cables on mine for the stepper motors, if I have any other issues, I'll change out the spindle (router) power wire for a shielded one. So far so good with the current set up.

Is there a shield that can be added to an existing cable to make it shielded.

@@michaeljakus8373 Not that I am aware of. Shielded cables are fairly cheap. I recommend looking on etsy for a guy that makes them. That's were I got mine after two failed attempts of my own (my crimper sucked). You can probably get away with not shieling the power cable for the router, unless you get interference, then I would replace that too. Remember to ground your shielding.

I really love your set up with the drag chains. Would love to mimic your set up. I do have the journeyman x-50. Thanks and look forward to additional videos

    Hi Maker,
I have a question your maker setup. What book can you recommend for a beginner myself in the maker hobby? Would greatly appreciate any suggestions/thoughts. Thanks in advance for the assistance and best of luck with your maker projects as well.
    Thanks,
    Bill Miller

Books aren't as helpful as jumping in, just jump in and dont be afraid to fail Bill, it's a journey and you acquire and build your shop up, build your space up as you find the groove of what you are making.
What are you going to make? But before you ask yourself that. Get a 3D printer, its what I did 3years ago without a lick of sense and I now have a 10 printer mini farm and 2 cnc machines, my necessity evolved all from the one ender 3 I started with.
Cool thing is if it's not for you it wont put you out a ton.
      Good luck on your journey
