Sew ins done tightly on straight relaxed roots will break the hair. You have to grow about an inch to two new growth then do the sew in on strong roots.Keep the point of demarcation strong and moisturized
You know I never thought of that! I would sometimes get sewins 3 weeks after a relaxer. Definitely waiting about a month and a half from now on. Thank you for letting me know 😘🫶🏾💕
When my hair was relaxed, it just would not retain any length, no matter how hard I tried… I did blow dry and flat iron… wore my hair pulled back often… it was weak, brittle and uneven. It was the heat that destroyed my hair. My hair is still thin, I have fine strands, but I have retained a bit more length being natural. Nothing to write home about… but more than before!
Hi babe I’ve definitely considered going back to my natural hair texture but lowkey I don’t want to admit defeat to a relaxer. I’m going to wear protective styles for the next 6 months then decide. I’m glad you’re seeing progress with your natural hair. Oils really helped me to thicken my natural hair. Oils, a good leave in conditioner and protective styling helped me to retain so much length while I was natural. I hope that you reach your hair goals 💕
Heat and flatironing is what killed it so why not just stop using heat and air dry...my hair dresser is shocked that my hair looks so healthy ...I refuse to even let her use heat on my hair in the salon
Same and i had a professional doing it for years! She was telling me it was healthy and even till this day she looks at old pictures and claims i had “hair” back then. The gag is my hair fuller, longer, and healthier than it ever was before now. Even more than the last time i was natural. Some people make relaxed hair work but if its not, don’t force it.
I had a relaxed from age 18 until about 38. I always just got a relaxed then wet wrap or wash then wrap. I never let the stylist blow dry my hair. For 1 my hair is fine and I believe that relaxed hair should not be pressed. The hair already has a a chemical and heat treatment ( blow dry or hair dryer). Why press it. That may be one reason for the breakage.
Heat is definitely one of the causes of breakage for me. I started putting my heat on my hair every week for about 3 months on a row!! I’ve never done a wet wrap before. Does it leave your hair just as silky and flowy as a silk press?
@@vaniaorkelseyessssss!!!! My relaxed hair would grow but my dry, fried ends would always have to be cut off, my scalp was dry and itch, I worked out 5 days a week so my my roots were always poofy. I’m never going back to relaxed hair. My hair has been natural since 2012.
Stylist did a great job, she should have done more trimming nonetheless I wish you well Girl. I also went to the salon last year and my hair has been thriving ever since, I just put it in a protective style and forget about it 😂. Can't wait to see the changes 🎉
Thanks babe💕. I’m definitely trimming again, protective styling and leaving it alone for the rest of the year. I’m glad your hair is thriving, are you using any specific products ?
@vaniakelsey I only use 4 products for my hair, I've realised that a simple routine is best. I use auntie Jackie's 1) moisturising shampoo 2) deep conditioner 3) intensive moisture leave in conditioner 4) argan oil. These work really well together and keeps hair soft. If I'm going for a short term style I wash my hair weekly or by weekly. If it long styling I keep it up to 2 months. Deep conditioning is extremely important. I've learnt a lot from following the Nigerian RUclipsr, I related a lot to her because I'm also lazy when it comes to hair 😅
@@samiyabwanali220 I definitely have to try some of the Aunt Jackie products you mentioned. I’d maybe try the oil first. I’m realizing less is more when it comes to relaxed hair so I feel like 4 solid products is all I’d need. What’s the RUclipsr’s name? Thank you for sharing the products with me❤

My relaxed hair thrived because I didn't relax bone strait. I also used to stretch 6 months. I'd relax again, but I am now 80 percent gray. I may do my own in the future after I research. I hear relaxers may turn gray hair yellow.
When my had broken off i just don't know how to do no hair i use too much gel and grease because my hair is too thick and i use hair lotion and leave in condition and i alway love to wear wigs and ponytails of any kind that fit right for my head to bring my face out because i have a big head but some ways my hair trying to grow back in some areas like the back but the sides is so short
Hi babe the girlies on RUclips really help me to take care of my hair if your relaxed I suggest watching Hairlicious, April Sunny or Ianna Yvonne. Keep wearing your protective styles and figure out a routine that works for your hair. I hope that your flourishes and grows back more beautiful than it already is 💕
Ma’am, health over length, you needed a haircut in this video. A pixie cut or a Bob, to start over; then start doing the right thing with your hair care. wash weekly, deep condition weekly, less heat, plus all the other advice you gave in the video. Also, learn if your protein sensitive and if so remove all products with protein in it and then protein treat every 4 to 6 weeks intentionally.

In the salon, I only do protein after chemical treatments. Duo Tex, after the rinse, before neutralizing. Three minutes ONLY. After neutralizing always use a moisturizing conditioner, under the dryer. No protein in between.
😂 We’re watching the reasons why as you talk. It’s overprocessed, snatching through the hair with fine tooth comb, blow drying, Titanium plate 😢flatiron on overprocessed hair.
Yikes. All that heat and heavy hands. The Stylist is aggressive with her already fragile hair. Needs a good trim As well as bonding with intense conditioning treatments.

Cut all of the breakage off, get a steamer, and cut off all of the breakage so that your hair will grow back sooner.
