Surprised that AMRAAM's proximity fuse didn't work when it got so close to the second plane. It would have at least damaged it. First time I remember Longshot getting shot down. Nice to know he's human. ;-)
Very cool demonstration, LongShot! And you are the _master_ of DCS cinematics. 2:05, 3:35, 3:49, 4:16, 4:36, I could go on.... 😎 Edit: Just saw the conclusion. RIP to a great film maker. 😁
Neeeeever drop below mid-altitude in a Strike Eagle. The power of those engines means that you should always be forcing the missile to fight against gravity and not against air density, because you will cut through the thinner high-atmo air like a knife and you'll always be able to notch the missile. Maintain speed and altitude and you'll be able to tire out even hypersonics. I call it the Blackbird Strategy. Eagle, Viper, and Flanker vets tend to try to fly the Strike like a dogfighter, trying to pull the air density advantage in their favor against missiles, and you just can't. The Strike's too heavy for that. You put yourself at a severe disadvantage at low-atmo in a Strike. But at higher altitudes, where the air density isn't dragging at your weight, your superior engine power will make you wonder why you ever wanted to dogfight in the first place. Just a little tip from a dedicated Striker.
Sorry bro but as soon as i read make the missile fight gravity, i clocked out. I can guarantee you that the missile would love to catch you up at high altitude, just like you said, the only plane that should try to be outrunning the missiles is the Blackbird.
@@cakeadventure8412 Okay so you didn't bother reading the rest of what I said and where I explained what the problem is with going down to the deck in a Strike, but you find it pertinent enough to comment authoritatively? L comment, little bro.
They have F-15Es at Mountain Home AFB. I miss when they had the "composite wing" there. They had F-15Cs and Es, F-16s, and a group of B-1Bs assigned there.
Sure in the perfect world were you have 5-10 minutes to get up to that altitude and speed. However, in case you missed it my man started off with a full load of JDAMS and not to mention the main threat.. oh idk the SA-6 in the surrounding area.
That is not practical due to fuel. You either have too little fuel and run out in 15 minutes of full burn to actually reach and maintain that speed or have too much fuel and can't reach that speed at all
F-119’s are too big and heavy. Would require a lot of redesign. The F110-GE-132’s are the same size as the 129’s and have 32k thrust. Put those in a C airframe with FBW and you have a very agile jet.
For the Sa-6 you dont need to pop up and drop (like Sa-2 or Sa-5 or Sa-3) . Just go to angel 30 and it will not track especialy if you got JDAM no need to get to angle 23 to lize for GBU24 or GBU10 BTW That Su33 wingman is an ACE
1. You made an extremely dangerous break instantly after dropping JDAMS 2. You weren't low enough 3. You didn't get low and defend in anticipation of a Fox 3 at the end you stayed above the ridgeline and leveled out before you even fully G-pulled the missile to duck below the ridgeline.
If you have a bandit in an STT and fire a fox 3 at them, do they get the missile launch warning immediately or only once the missile has gone pitbull on them?
It's not getting maintained, the guy at razbam volunteered to fix the radar bug, ed does not have access to the source code so if something brakes then it's over@@LongShotChannel
@traviswalker8933 ummm... yeah actually we do. It's a whole multi-tier battle. Actual absolute hordes. See desert storm, maybe read up on the air war at the time. it was like a hornets nest in the sky.
@@davidbeasley962 that was done by political lobbying and all of those jets were stationed at KSA and UAE. Things are much different in the current landscape.
@traviswalker8933 nope, when the US goes hard, it goes full on. What I mentioned, would require less than 12 planes. 2 F22 top cover, 4 F16 SEAD, 4 F15E. Use lobbing attack profile for JDAM. Air defense is no guarantee, particularly if Mako, especially when NATO air vs RUS anti-air. People refuse to learn this lesson. Also a fully active airbase with combat aircraft operating out of it? Ya that is a top tier priority target.
@@jeremygair4007 in reality, the F-22 has never been sent out for active combat like that. Recently it has been deployed in the Middle East but its effectiveness remains to be seen. A common issue with your comment is the underestimation in the advancements of potential enemy air defenses, especially considering the advancements made in today's landscape. You're taking it with the face value of Iraq during 1991.

The F-15E cockpit is undoubtedly very beautiful. 😍
I think it’s the best VR cockpit available in DCS. That HUD is gorgeous

In a F-15E you should maintain Mach 1.8+ at high altitude and sling Amraams and you will be able to outrun most air to air missiles.

Super cool video with so much detail! Excellent LS! The perspectives from the JDAMS. The final impact shot was awesome! As always, brilliant work Sir.
Thank you very much
My favorite jet and plane of all time and what I consider to be the best
When you and G.S team up, you two are deadly.❤❤❤ 💯 💯 💯.
An F15 with F22 engines & thrust vectoring but without the stealth. It can BVR & tango with a SU35.

Thank you for sharing Longshot! I really need to get back into the F-15E, it is a bomb truck!
the damage you can deliver? :D
Jets in 70s equipped with nuclear missiles: hold my beer..
i love difficult missions. Although this one was not particularly difficult I think, it was just that one of the SUs was very lucky.

That seemed impossible ! How did your AAMRAM not detonate when it was so close to the second Flanker ?
You also didn't drop your tank. That might've helped, at least on the last leg of the exfil run.
Low-level is the Strike's environment.
Long shot GS won’t do it for me so I ask you f-15c vs f-4e dogfight
There's no point, the F-15C will destroy the F-4 every time

GS did it already in September of last year. Twice. Don't know what makes you think that he did not.
F-4E the OG all in one fighter. Shame Razbam is playing Fk around and find out.

Try the F-15 S/MTD with canards.

Wait are you serious? They fixed the bug with the radar tho
That was eagle dynamics that fixed the radar bug, it was listed as fixed by ED in the changelog.

How about an F15E vs an Su34M in a dogfight?
Su-34 doesn't exist in DCS as a flyable aircraft.
It’s more suspenseful when you know the good guys don’t always win.
I love this aircraft. I hope ED won't abandon it
The developers for this aircraft and ED are currently having issues with each other so hope for the best.

Nope. Unless their operators are on lunch breaks like the Iraqis.
Almost

F15C top cover, or F22, F16 SEAD, multiple F15E.
Remember, RUS and even China are horribly outnumbered in the air.
The US won't send out hoardes of airplanes like that in the real world. Also, air defenses do exist too.
