Love the shot with Dachs head on your lap with the ball in his mouth. Thanks for the work and taking time to record. Nice to see Already cold winters here -20c this am Dec 1 cheers
Yes, the drone is a very important part of your video production. I hope you can recover it, without too many scrapes. Sounds like a video worth climbing a tree for! I wish my Albert was as cuddly as Darach. Glad he's keeping well I'll always stick around for Forest Thoughts. Learning about Succession was neat. I'd like to plant some larch in the garden down here in Somerset. Thanks for making such a nice accompaniment to my having to overhaul a spreadsheet on Private Cellular Networks.
Thank you Sam! You're explanation of the how and why of trees loosing leaves was great! Especially the differences of the deciduous and conifer trees! We didn't know that! Very clear in your explanation! We always stop the video to read all your notes! That was unfortunate about your drone... but don't you worry, it'll be great with all the struggles to get it. I'll be worth it! Looking forward to seeing them!😊
After the rain fell I bet you were glad to have the stove..🔥😁 Really interesting Forrest thoughts. I think I used to know most of that stuff but you presented it so well I may remember this time. 👍
Glad to see you back. You entering your winter and we just had our first 30c day here in west australia. Sausage and egg is a fine breakfast. Look forward to your next
Man hot tenting looks awesome one day I'll get one 😂, awesome camping vid , adorable darah and a biology lesson in forest thoughts, pure braw video of the brawest caliber 😎👌👌👌
Really interesting video. Thanks for the information. It was only last weekend in glencoe I was wondering if why some of the evergreens are yellow, well now I know n 😂
Hey 👋, Sorry to here bout yr drone being stuck up in the 🌳 🌲 Aren't their cheaper drones that do the same thing ?? We all know bout buying the " name " .
Sam another super video. Loved the Forest Thoughts. Quick question, I have oak that retains leaves all year round. Is this another exception to the rule? Beech does it to. What is the reasoning about this?
Thanks as always Ed, it's a great question and one I asked myself a few years. Truth is no-one seems to know for sure. but its called 'marcescence'. Some research suggests it's intentional to protect the buds from potential frost damage or even browsing. Other research suggests that some kind of disruption has caused that abscission layer not to fully form or has slowed it down somehow. It's quite interesting as not all Oak and Beech do it so something is going on there. But essentially when the new leaves grow in the Spring they 'push' the old leaves out of the way if they are still attached.
Good to see you back mate, I’ve been enjoying the simplicity of your videos, no loud music of fancy edits, just natural draw us in!
Thank you, appreciate that! it might just be my lack of editing skills :)
Very informative forest thoughts. Thanks again

Hey! Thanks for watching. I know what you mean, I am researching other models but for size and capability those mini pros are hard to beat!
Great camp out! Just out of interest, I'm in Deeside if you need someone to wander up and look out for your drone every so often?
Thanks for watching! Thanks so much I really appreciate the offer, if you see a drone in Glen Quoich then it's probably mine 😀
