It takes two weeks to get people to know that this movie is so great... I think Sarpatta Paramabarai team can wait and release this movie on theatres it can become good recognition for arya to people to know he can fit any type of roles and become one of successful actor. But even though this film get good recognition from reviewers as well as from people.

Honestly this is one of the best boxing film ever made in Indian film history. Arya has done one of his career the best performances in this movie. Hats off to his dedication and hard work.Acting, cinematography, romance and background score were simply awesome. A must watch!🎬

In bollywood, everyone is passionate about the revenue so they are postponing most of the film releases whereas in South people are passionate about films. So many big budget star studded South Indian movies have been released in ott.

It ain’t an NGO industry meant for social service and letting go of the profits meant to thrive & sustain. Begin an initiative to donate handsome amounts of money to the film producers and they’ll be at your service to release every film on OTT.
Why the film clicks is that usually regional industries borrow more from our own rich history, literature, socio-cultural and economic context and construct of society. While Bollywood usually tries to recycle Hollywood stuff, trying in vain to Indianize it. Regional cinema like Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, etc deserves far more attention than Bollywood.

watching Toofan and Sarpatta's trailer made me choose the latter . Toofan appeared just like another bollywood movie where the protagonist fights to restore his pride . I had to choose one amongst them ,considering the time we all have . Sarpatta was a new concept and had regional taste for me which i had never savoured before .
For me regional cinema specifically South indian cinema is gathering all the laurels for their stories and visual appeals . Today south indian cinema is making me and others take that extra step to watch them with captions whereas i am willing to ignore the bollywood with ease . Thats a big selling point for them . My support to south indian cinema .

Dancing Rose is a freaking badass. I wish he had been Kabilan's friend instead. I wanted see some of his previous fights where he is dancing circles around the opponent and winning. He had the potential to be an iconic character that was not in Kabilan and Vembuli weight class. That way I could root for him too! Pity.

Tamil film industry respects it's technicians . That's the reason we see such good stories being told beautifully, good editing , screenplay n cinematography. Another example where the length of the movie doesn't matter coz it keeps you engaged .
Now a days I am so pissed of bollywood remake that I am not even entertaining what's being released. In other hand the regional movies are way freaking awesome and I am glad and thankful for these remakes to make pissed and divert me from bollywood to regional..

I feel english education(since they oppose hindi) in Southern states especially kerala and tamil nadu makes them open to English movies and helps them push the boundaries of their movies. Kerala has always been that way but tn is also increasing its output.

Dancing Rose vs kabilan , one of the best bouts
A film so rooted in our socio-cultural history that it almost seems like it has torn out an actual page from history and put it on display for viewers.
Madarasapattinam was the best of Aarya untill Sarpatta. I would recommend Boss engira baskaran (best comedy movie of last decade) & Mahamuni as well.

Arya was one hell of an actor who literally wasted his credibility for last 1 decade. He literally gave a comeback with his last venture "Maganuni". And with 'Sarpatta" he gave a blockbuster. The way Ranjith moulded those characters was epic. You just can't forget those characters. Since Vadachennai, I've been remembering all those characters by their name. Kabilan, vaathiyar(coach), vembuli, Raman, Kevin, selvan and personally my favorite Dancing rose... The camera, editing, sound design, BGM, everything was Top notch. And the man, PA.RANJITH is literally back with a bang. His first two films Attakaththi and Madras created a new wave in Tamil cinema. And his next two with Superstar Rajnikanth gave him a dark character after almost 3 decades(though I find those two films mediocre). Here SARPATTA, was everything what Marty used to call "cinema"... Definitely, 'A must Watch'... Special mention to Pasupathy(Greatest yet underrated actor in Tamil cinema)
Blue sattai maran, Jammy pants & jimmy cage all hold Pasupathi as best of the lot and character selection as a good factor in this movie.
This shows how similarities exist between matured reviewers
Meanwhile, Bollywood "scripting" their next remake strategy. 😛🤣

I never like to spend time on movies but this week I had watched two brilliant movies Malik and Sarpatta parambarai. Really South Indian Artists have raised bar soo high I don't think bollywood ever gonna rise up to that level. Kudos to Fahad Fasil and Pa Ranjit. 🙏🙏.

This wasnt just boxing and action all the way. The storytelling was a masterpiece . The way they addressed various topic organically was terrific. The world building etc.. was so good that u get sucked and absorbed right away

This is a politically motivated movie. This movie showcases a hero(low caste) helping the Sarpatta parambarai regain its position(DMK) after splitting up into (ADMK shown by Kalaiarasan).
Ranjith has been always making movie about low caste people, but because of his idea of involving politics in the movie , the movie gets completely spoilt examples(kaala,kabali). And the same situation has happened here, he wanted to metaphorically convey the rise and fall of DMK, in the process he messed up the script, storyline everything.
Let me say why this movie is bad.
1. They could have shown how gradually Arya turns to the grey shade like how they have shown in Joji, Scam 1992, Mallik. But they didn't. They edited and fastforwarded every scene. This doesn't create enough time to empathise with the lead character. In fact he feels like a bad guy.
2. Dialogues and scenes feels like a drama. The characters are perfectly setup before something happens. Everyone is over-excited, shouting and dancing. The shouting mother and sobbing wife character feels cliche. Overall it doesn't feel realistic at all ( refer Vetrimaran's movies for realism)
3.Lengthy(3 hrs is too much)
4.Continuity mistakes (ex: arya and kalai goes to see Pasupathi, they are going to get him rabbit curry, but suddenly arya tries to kill a guy and becomes a gangster and the story goes somewhere else)
5.Editing(feels all over the place)
Let me say why this movie is good
1. Film's Artwork
2. Dancing Rose's footwork
Except that nothing is good in this movie
Ranjith has created engaging political thriller like Madras and subtle love story like Attakathi. These movies also talked lot of politics. But the politics did not deter the movie.
Majority of people here in TN support DMK. The director has cleverly used this to his advantage. he also cleverly integrates it with a low caste lead. This is not Dalit cinema
Really good dalit cinema is made by directors like Mari Selvaraj and Vetrimaran. They instigate us and make us feel bad for the unjust caused by our own ancestors.
Many people don't know the internal political situation in Tamilnadu. Without knowing that it is irrelevant to applaud this undeserving movie. Please analyse and review.

Neat story telling, no hero glorification, watching Pasupathi in his element...this wonderful make wins hands down in the finest sports films category.Having had the privilege of belonging to the same academy and being trained by the same MMA coach,the beast like trainings and dedication that Arya had to invest in ,finally paid off. Moment of pride personally !

This was indeed a very good boxing movie! A small detail in Arya's body: That side packs, in addition to six-packs, indeed shows a boxer's body. Side crunches are really important for a boxer's dancing + boxing movement! And it's not just another six-packs!

As a kid I saw him in the movie Madrassapattinam(pardon me,Hindi speaker here) on sun tv. Loved him in that and the film too💚

I want to say one thing about Pasupathy Sir........even though I am a telugu girl and watched him playing negative roles in few telugu films.....I never thought that he looked like a villain when compared to other villains in other telugu movies.......but the day came to know about this veerumandi movie....I watches its telugu dubbed version.......I must say, I really got scared with the character he played in that film......what an acting man in Veerumandi movies....till today I fear of seeing his face on screen after watching veerumandi movie
But thanks to Sarpatta movie....it drove away my fear for this actor.....I completely liked his performance apart from aryas performance in film
