The throttle response and modulation will be a massive improvement over the vevor controller, those things are basically on off switches lol. Awesome video! If I'm not using an ignition, (my throttle appears to be the same brand, but has the 3 speed and no ignition) do I just ignore the orange wire?
Youll need to hook up some sort of ignition, orange to battery positive is how the controller is turned on, so any kinda key switch or on off button inbetween that!

@Kenneth Benson im not too sure how it compares to a kelly. Super simple though just gotta connect to the app go to the second page and hit auto learn, gotta have the chain off and motor spinning free, once its beeping at you twist the throttle fully and it will spin forward for a bit then backwards just keep on the throttle till it stops and beeps 2 times then your good! The controller will only pull as many amps as its set too so burning it wont be an issue! Amorge for the win!!
What kind of speedometer compatible with the One-lin wire (blue) of fardriver ? I have try some cheap china speedo but not work (they work good with Votol IC One-line wire)
The fardriver need to be programmed to send one line signal. You most likely have a controller that does not and will need to use a display that gets signal from a hall wire like a ct22. I had a similar issue with my qs165 kit that came with a fardriver and dkd display. They ended up sending me a new fardriver that had the firmware for one line signal
They do if they are programmed for one-line communication. Something you have to ask for specifically. Most of us just use displays that use hall signal though but those dont display amp output
I followed all the steps for the throttle connector. The bike turns on and shows the voltage but when I throttle it doesn’t do anything. How do I fix this?
I just replied to a different comment you just left. But is the controller beeping? Make sure your wires are pinned and seated correctly in the connector housing. Double check everything. Make sure you set your temp sensor setting in the app along with low voltage cutoff if your using anything less than a 72v battery.
Would it be possible to use the fardriver controller for a 52v battery and then use the same fardriver controller for a 72v battery when I upgrade later on
Yup! All you gotta do is change your low voltage protect down to whatever is dead for 52v and you can run it no problem and slap a 72v on later with bo changes. I just hooked up my 72450 with a 48v for now and it works awesome!
Not necessarily, just depends how you have it wired. Are you sure you have the orange ignition wire hooked up correctly. Pin isn't loose or hanging out?
I have a kunray 3000 watt motor and a fardriver 72530 “no Bluetooth tongle yet “ it is beeping 7 times telling me the motor temp is too high . Can I just snip the white wire on the hall plug and be good to go or do I need to wait for the Bluetooth tongle to go into the setting and turn it off ?
@iamthebest1076 yup! If it has the white wire it's got a temp sensor! Definitely keep that intact lol. Once you get the bt dongle you'll have to figure out which sensor it is. You can keep messing with the selections till the temp reads right on the graph page. You'll see what I mean when you get into it!
Ok hope i didnt mess up. Cut the plugs for the throttle and 3speed switch. Would it matter if the ground wires are switced around? Like if the throttle ground is the 3speed ground?
Honestly i always do one thing at a time and dont just cut a bunch of stuff, so ive never got the 3 speed and throttle ground mixed up. Id imagine it doesnt matter since ground is shared. But worst case test everything before making the connectors.
Mahalos for the fast reply! I know but i have the e&c throttle and figured i put them all on the same plug. Then noticed i had 2 grounds lol. Then realized the 3speed needs its on ground. So now im going to put them all individual in a 6plug. Key/voltmeter combo on a 2pin connector (red/blk) and the third green wire going to controller. Sound right?
Ahh i gotcha, yeah if im not totally sure ill plug the pins in together without them in the connector and turn the controller on, go through the modes make sure they change and give it a little throttle to make sure its working. After ive confirmed then ill pin the connectors. And for the volt/key combo, on the fardriver look for a red 2 pin connector with pink and black. Youll put green to pink, black to black, and red to the orange ignition. Then you should be all set!
Any motor you can slap on will work with this wiring setup! The only difference will be in the tune itself. Otherwise the throttle and all that stuff is wired the same.
Your good! I don't think i mentioned dkd in this video, maybe in the new one. But it would be either the brown boost wire (which seems to be the new one-line wire) or the light blue. The brown wire is the one on a 2 pin connector with a blue with red striped wire!
@@EmxBrandon Thank you! Just orders the B1 chassis so I'm trying to piece everything needed before the bike arrives. Also, for the controller, do I simply email them and tell them which model I want? I didn't see a store / check out on their website

Yeah it worked out just fine! I really like the knock off surron throttles lately. Much cleaner as im not a fan of the switches and key switch combined with the throttle. And the spring back is much stiffer allowing for better modulation!
@@EmxBrandon Oh ok I have seen those and they look promising. I like that they are metal casing rather than the cheap plastic casing. In your opinion, if I already have an amazon throttle, would it be worth spending an extra $25-30 for the surron throttle? Or does it not add that much of a difference with the fardriver? Thanks for the reply
@schmeglyomigy6174 its really not gonna make a big difference as far as how the voltage is sent to the controller. But the stronger spring will give you a little more of a fine tune feel. Its hard to explain 😆
@@EmxBrandon Well I have ridden surrons before so I might know what you are saying. To me, the surron throttle feels more solid but also feels heavier in a way that makes it feel good. Also, I noticed that it snaps back quicker when you release the throttle. Is this the feeling you are referring to? It’s a bit disappointing to hear it doesn’t change the actual electronic feel but I should have figured.
@schmeglyomigy6174 yup! Thats exactly what im trying to say, feels solid and heavier so when your twisting the throttle you feel it pulling against you which makes for better modulation. Where the cheap throttles its easy to twist through them. But yeah unfortunately its not gonna send signal any different, it might be a touch more accurate, nothing i can notice atleast.
@@EmxBrandon im looking at getting a bike soon. Here in Australia we dont have the mototech it's called crossfire 1500w. Im actually looking at getting a DHZ 2200E it is 60v 2200w out of box. But im completely new to electric so not to sure on the DHZ. I want it to race with the 110cc pitbike races near me.
@Vicious Violet im a big fan of the mototec style bikes and how much power they can handle with a controller swap! Those 60v dhz bikes look awesome though and out of the box look alot beefier and bigger that would probably get you closer to 110 power with out modifications!
@@EmxBrandon yeah im 6,1 adult so was thinking the DHZ might be better. Definitely looks stronger. I want to be able to jump it on the track. And yeah i thought since both bikes are basically the same price the DHZ is better value since it's 60v out of box. I absolutely appreciate any help as im completely new to electric.
@@EmxBrandon Ok nice. So with the throttle that would be like $150 right? Also I’m experiencing trouble with battery voltage sag when throttling. Would I be able to set the fardriver voltage cutoff to none because my current controller shuts off while i’m throttling
@schmeglyomigy6174 depends on the throttle you get, the knock off surron throttles are 40 bucks. Plus youll need assorted waterproof connectors with the pin crimpers and some other stuff like volt meter on/off switch. And you dont wanna change low voltage cutoff, youll destroy your battery. Sounds like you have a bad cell or parallel group in your battery already if its sagging real bad. Nothing on the controller settings can change that.
Are you on Android or iPhone? If iphone just type fardriver in the app store. If android go to your google search bar and type "fardriver app for android" then click the first link with the page that shows the bluetooth dongle with a small green box on the bottom left that says download. Make sure your permissions are turned on and download the app. Once app is downloaded it will ask for a verification code. Type your email and send code to email. Type 6 digit code back into the fardriver app and hit verify. Once your connected to the app in the comm page make sure to press bound to controller. Once all that is complete you can go to the paras page and hit open pro and tune your controller freely
@bennyblaze4571 did you do the binding process? After thr binding process you need to change temp sensor to none. If your running a battery less than 72v youll also need to change your low voltage protect. Once all that is finished you need to run the auto learn process, all explained at the end of the vid!
Id say the tuning is the hardest part, if your like me once you get this in your hands and sort out which wires are for what and start one at a time its super easy!
Haha thanks for watching! Ive been super busy working on other stuff like my buddys dirtbikes and whatnot. I just gotta make some time so i can fab up my sx swing arm to get that motor mounted. So you’re saying that QS motors sells a different far driver than the actual brand? This is the first time I’m hearing of this. I’m getting ready to purchase the 72850.
got me sad bro ordered everything you got did everything you did wires just don’t wanna connect in the connector no clue why i got the same exact ones as you followed every step and they just won’t click
The encoder model will have different wire colors. But if you have a hall version this method will work with any motor you stick to a fardriver! And once you do an auto learn it will get you really close to a good tune, then its all about dialing it in for your personal feel.
The throttle is straigh forward, green to green black to black and red to red. For the voltmeter key combo you will have 3 wires. The black will go to ground. On the fardriver harness look for a red 2 pin connector it will have pink and black. Put your voltmeter/key black to that black on red 2 pin. Now you have 2 wires left most likely green and red and youll have a 50 50 shot no risk of getting it wrong. Take that pink wire that was next to the black on the red 2 pin on fardrivet and twist it to one of those left over wires on voltmeter/key (for testing! then you can pin them when your sure) and for the last wire on volt/key, twist it to the lone orange wire. If you get those 2 backwards the only thing that will happen is the volt meter will stay on even if key is off. If thats the case switch the wires and your done!
@@EmxBrandon I'm working on it right now. My throttle wires are black blue brown. Knock off surron from ali. I think I got the volt meter figured out from ur help
The siayq72180 version sucks they have the modes programmed goofy as hell. If you buy a fardriver get it from the source!! Email fardriver directly. I got this controller from a kit off aliexpress from siaecosys
Idk what bell means? Are you saying it's beeping? Did you finish the video and set up the controller? You have to get it set up and do the autolearn to get it to stop beeping.
I watched the whole video and the 3 connections are correct, I checked them 1000 times. but as soon as I turn it on and apply voltage it starts to ring, it stops if I accelerate (the wheel turns in reverse) and as soon as the wheel stops it starts to ring again...
@@OMTRacing you need to finish autolearn! Chain off, hold the throttle wide open until it spins one way then the other and beeps twice. Then its finished.
Gas swaps will always be cheaper, its so easy to walk into a tool store and pick up a 200 dollar predator engine, or find a engine on market place. Electric is definitely an expensive hobby whether you diy it or buy ug and play. The battery prices are what really get ya.

The controller will only pull as many amps as its set too so burning it wont be an issue! Amorge for the win!!
Just wonderijng, is the aliexpress controller working (other than the 3 speed)?
Im not sure what you mean? Of course it was working, you can check out the sx500 build i put the kit in

No problem! Im glad i could help!
Which fardriver model would you most recommend for running a 52v and then a 60 or 72v later on
Depends in your power goals! 72300 for 5-7kw 72450 for 7-14kw
Ok thanks
question do these fardriver controllers send infomation to a screen like voltage watts and other things?
Ok thanks. Which fardriver model would you most recommend for running a 52v and then a 60 or 72v later on
HI,GUY I SAW YOUR VIDEO,i bought a Far driver, but when I switch on it bell immediately, and I can find the solution.... what can I do?
It bell immediately?
25:28 just to be clear, that read o ring terminal connected on top of the battery is the volt meter correct?
Yes that red wire with the ring terminal bolted with battery positive powers both the volt meter and controller on.
Hey quick question, if my volt meter turns on, but i dont hear beeping from my controller, what does that mean?
Might need to go back through your wiring and make sure everythings right. Orange needs to touch positive through a key switch in order to turn on.
@EmxBrandon But if the wiring is wrong wouldn't the voltage meter stay off?
Not necessarily, just depends how you have it wired. Are you sure you have the orange ignition wire hooked up correctly. Pin isn't loose or hanging out?
@EmxBrandon It didn't look loose but redid all the wiring for the throttle and it's beeping now! Thank you so much!

You need to wait for the bt dongle so ypu can change the temp sensor type. Cutting the wire wont help.
@@EmxBrandon thank you for the response 🙏. I guess I’ll just chill out and wait haha
@iamthebest1076 haha for sure! Does the kunray has a built in temp sensor?
@@EmxBrandon I don’t know tbh, it does have a the white wire in the hall sensor though if that says anything

Will this fardriver work with a surron motor and battery?
Yeah of course! My buddy has a surron with a fardriver and it rips! The stock battery is limited to 5kw though unless you bypass the bms.
@@EmxBrandon awesome, ya the stock surron controller and harness has been issues so ill get a fardriver to get it connected better
Dont i just use the black from the red connector(alarm) for the volt/key side ground?
Think i found the throttle ground lol. Referred to the pin layout. Moved the rubber boot up and found wire which went where 🤙🏾
WOW awesome video! Do you know if setup will be the same for a qs90? Also will your tune work for a qs90? Thanks in advance for any help.
Any motor you can slap on will work with this wiring setup! The only difference will be in the tune itself. Otherwise the throttle and all that stuff is wired the same.

Which wire on the fardriver harness would be used for a dkd display? I apologize if i missed this info in the video
Your good! I don't think i mentioned dkd in this video, maybe in the new one. But it would be either the brown boost wire (which seems to be the new one-line wire) or the light blue. The brown wire is the one on a 2 pin connector with a blue with red striped wire!

Hello, on my car driver ND96680 controller, two wires of yellow-brown and red-yellow connectors are cut off from the connector, what are they for?
And one wire is missing on a large connector, is this how it should be?
Honestly if you go to ant fardriver listing on aliexpress and look at the description they have wire diagrams that will tell you what every wire is!
Off the top of my head i think those are alarm wires which arent needed
I found all the wires from your video, but I also have additional wires cut off, but I don't understand what they are for
@Electric bike на Рыбалку im not sure, i dont see those colors on the regular diagram. Youll have to look up a diagram for your controller. Chances are you dont need them if you already have whats hooked up in the video

Which fardriver for surron battery
Uo to you really if your gonna stick to the stock battery a 72300 or 72360.
Does that amazon throttle work smoothly with the controller or do you think an option like the electro and co throttle would feel better?
Does this tune work for the my 1020d
Absolutely not, your controller needs to be tuned to your motor.

How much does it cost for this whole controller setup with all the wiring and the controller
Depends on the controller and throttle you get. Probably around 300- 350
@@EmxBrandon Ok thanks. For the cheapest (least power) controller, how much would that be from fardriver?
@@schmeglyomigy6174 72240 would be the cheapest, but 72300 s12 would be best. Those are around 120-140?
Thank you for sharing.

I appreciate the quick reply. You're the only one who got back to me... That's another issue I'm having. The link to the QR code isn't working.
So I downloaded the app on my daughter's apple. All good there. Now, still beeping seven times and no power to motor
@bennyblaze4571 did you do the binding process? After thr binding process you need to change temp sensor to none. If your running a battery less than 72v youll also need to change your low voltage protect. Once all that is finished you need to run the auto learn process, all explained at the end of the vid!
Is this as hard as it looks
Id say the tuning is the hardest part, if your like me once you get this in your hands and sort out which wires are for what and start one at a time its super easy!

Tons of research and trial and error! Appreciate that!!
got me sad bro ordered everything you got did everything you did wires just don’t wanna connect in the connector no clue why i got the same exact ones as you followed every step and they just won’t click
Each pin goes in a certian way and clicks into place. Look up some videos of waterproof connectors. Practice! Youll get it!
Same I have to jam them in with a mini flat head it won't click in
Sweet video now can you do the same with the qs165 lol
The encoder model will have different wire colors. But if you have a hall version this method will work with any motor you stick to a fardriver! And once you do an auto learn it will get you really close to a good tune, then its all about dialing it in for your personal feel.
Do the tune video man😊
Haha its coming!
im getting confused because im using a 3 wire throttle and a seperate 3 wire keyswitch and volt meter.
