    From the preview podcast to now, yall we're saying the Dodgers had a few "slight" advantages, never wanting to give the Dodgers credit for being the better team. The Dodgers earned this world series. The Yankees didn't give it to them. They were the better team top to bottom. Just to recap their season, they deal with injuries to mookie and Yamamoto out half the year, Freeman out for some time with his son's sickness, and the following Dodgers pitchers got hurt: Glasnow, Kershaw, May, Sheehan, Stone, Gonsolin, Ryan, Phillips and Ohtani (not pitching). They demonstrated incredible resilience, Dave meeting in the clubhouse in Atlanta after hearing of the Glasnow injury news and reminding the guys they had enough players in that locker room to win it all. They never flinched after the 1-2 series deficit against the Padres. They showed the toughness of a champion. They deserve this. The Yankees did not choke. The Dodgers were the better team. Just admit it.

      All games, except Gm 4 were close until the end. Yanks would’ve clobbered the Dodgers if LA didn’t pitch well (which they did), hit well or defend well (again, which they did). Yankees didn’t give anything to the Dodgers. That said, Yankees are a great team, but the Dodgers were better this time.

    You guys are one of the best baseball shows around. You all give the best breakdowns and still show your loyalties and respect. As a Dodgers fan, I am elated we won. We did the fundamentals and showed fight when things were rough. The pitching staff were absolute dogs. The offense stayed alive and kept pressing. Doc managed this team through situations that would have been catastrophic for most teams and barely so for the Dodgers.
    I was glad to see the Yankees show life in games 1, 4, and 5. Started listening to because of Walker “effing” Buehler and stayed for the great content.

    Pretty crazy that the Dodgers not only felt like the best team, they also felt like the most complete team in the postseason, maybe outside of the Padres. That’s without any postseason innings from Glasnow, Stone, Ohtani, May, Sheehan, Ryan and Kershaw, with Vesia, Phillips and Graterol(three guys who have all posted 60+ innings of sub-2 ERAs in one of the last 3 seasons) missing a combined 4 series between them. It’s really tough to repeat in baseball but it’s not hard to believe that they can improve their team substantially without even doing a whole lot in the offseason. Not to mention that they posted the best record in baseball with substantial missed time from a lot of the aforementioned pitchers as well as Betts. Potential dynasty in the making

    • @ryanc9876
      @ryanc9876 21 день назад +1

      Well I'm being a little nitpicky here, but you're right on all but one minor detail: Graterol was hurt for most of this year. I don't even know if he was healthy or should've been pitching in the World Series either. Didn't matter though--they needed him. And like so many of these guys, he stepped up.
      Also Walker needs to be a forever Dodger after this year. He's earned it, he put his elbow on the line in the past and that's why he was out for 2 years. He'll do whatever it takes to win, and the Dodgers need to pay him big for it. And it's already a great fit and he already has two rings with them. There's no way they can let him slip.

    Part of me wanted the Dodgers to sweep, winning each game in overwhelming fashion so I never felt a single tingle of fear or apprehension along the way. Another part of me really wanted the high drama of a 7 game series capitalizing it by winning at home. I think we got a good middle ground for Dodger fans. It was largely comfortable, but we got to experience high pressure with Freddie's Gibby moment and Walker's Maximus moment. Pretty iconic. Plus, two best uniforms in baseball -Yankee pinstripe and Dodgers heavenly white home unis.

  • @LeviBulger
    @LeviBulger 21 день назад +15

    Dodgers fan here. Not gonna be a hater at all. LA for once, played to their potential this postseason, and truth be told they were a more complete team than the Yankees. No shame in that for NY. Yanks had a great team but we're just not able to keep pace 1-9 in the lineup. Judge not hitting and dodgers starters pitching above their expectations those first 3 games were HUGE. Add to that the experience in these big games tipping to the dodgers favor was the last major factor. That allowed them to stay sharp and limit mistakes when nerves were at their peak. The Yankees had to be just about better than perfect which is a big ask. But they got that experience themselves now, and will be back next season ready to redeem themselves.

    You said Roberts put on a master class. My question is if the Dodgers have a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game 4 and it's a pen game for both teams should the Dodgers have used the high leverage arms and go for the sweep against a cold Yankee offense or serve up batting practice with the AAA pitchers getting Judge and the Yankees hit for game 5 and hope to beat Cole using Flaherty knowing Flaherty doesn't put together good back to back starts. My opinion is that Roberts lack of flexibility with game plan cost game 4 and had the Yankees not completely thrown up in the 5th the Dodgers would have lost game 5 as well. To me the odds of beating the Yankees pen when up 2-0 is better than beating Cole with Flaherty and It just looks like Roberts made a massive tactical mistake but got away with it.

Then Freeman and Teoscar touched up Cole for a single and double and 2 RBIs each. 5-5 ballgame.
      Cole was solely responsible for ALL FIVE DODGERS RUNS.
      That having been said, it was also Cole that was mostly responsible for the Dodgers being no-hit through 4 when the other Yank starters in the series couldn’t keep the Dodgers from early leads. I’d say Cole earned a wash. He left his team with a tie at the top of the sixth. Except for the Dodger bullpen game, that was much better than any other of the vaunted starters’ performances.
      Cole pitched almost two more innings of shutout ball but the Dodgers outscored the Yankees 2-1 from the sixth on.
      So basically Yank fans are crying because their team couldn’t score more than 1 run in the last 6 innings.
      Not to mention the other 3 games they had already lost.
      Go cry somewhere else Yankee. 😭

      @ajalvarez3111 bro u sound dumb. If Judge didn't drop the routine ball, inning would've been over because as you said it 2 outs before any runs scored. If judge didn't make the error, there woulda been 3 outs. So no..the errors were not meaningless. It's LITERALLY what lost them the game.

    If you guys think the Dodgers went through anything don’t look at the Braves’ injured list.
