yes, it’s not about the “following standards” it’s about your efficiency on works🎉 so i think not following the rules of slog, color grading and else.. as long the output have a outstanding result, well it’s worth it!!
The usual conventions of DP's shoot 1 or 2 stops under exposed in LOG format, only as a safety margin for the colourist so that the dynamic range is preserved (14 stops) usually when correcting exposure/highlights etc.
nice video! I'd strongly urge you (no matter how comfortable you are in Pr) to move your color workflow to Davinci Resolve, the auto color button alone pretty much covers the color correction part of you video in one click. Obviously not suitable for every situation but in terms of color grading footage DR is just leagues ahead of Pr imo. I still do the majority of editing in Pr myself, DR has just become so good that I cant refuse it any longer.
