Crylon Fusion paint is widely available in spray cans and works well with plastic, its designed to bind with plastic. Also, if the plastic is somewhat pourous, you can use RitDie to permanently die the plastic.
If you get a micro screwdriver set you should be able to figure out the sizes. I will look once I get home and repost. Basically the screws are a similar size to what you would find in eye glasses or inside of a laptop

+Jason Smith "Grip" I mean for the paint to stick to the plastic. You mentioned that you can just scrap it off the back little light (the paint) and if that's true, can't you just scrap it off the white plastic with ease? If that's the case the bird will be black with white marks all over it in no time. Longevity of the paint sticking is what I'm looking for.
Do not use the flexidip use the regular spray paint. Flexidip is a little harder to get smooth and on top of that does not look as good. The replacement parts are so cheap so I would not worry about it just use the permanent stuff
Couldn't tell if you used the "flexi-dip" as the base, you sprayed way too much your first coat. You need to spray 25% coverage your first coat, then 50% and then a full coat with 10 minutes between each coat. The "indoor" paint you used is not for the purpose you're using it. Go to your local auto parts store and buy car paint. also "paint" needs the surface to be sanded and a primer used to adhere to the surface or you'll have problems down the line. Nice job in the process of taking the inspire apart, very imformative
Josh thanks for the thorough comment. To answer your question, I didn’t use the “flex-dip” on the it only the small plastic light on the back above the battery and I ended up scraping it off because I didn’t like the look. The paint I used for the body was perfect because it costed perfectly over the plastic. If I were painting metal I would have used the auto paint.
Many thanks for taking the time to produce this video! I know the Inspire 1 Community greatly appreciates it!
Yes we do. :-D
From one paint hack to another, thanks for this vid. Well done!
Thank you for your video. Followed your instructions and just finished spraying!
post a pic :) !!
this is a huge help - thank you!

Good idea to use a guitar pick to pry parts apart
what size screwdrivers do you need, would really appreciate it if you made a list with the sizes, thx

i found out, the most uncommon screwdriver tip u need is called torx t9, the other ones are way more common and easy to find.
Very nice and very well done. Thanks a lot for the video Jason. :-D (Y)
Nice work!
Hey great video...did you used mate black spray paint?
hey what did you do with the camera? left ti white? if you paint it can you upload a video of disarming the camera
ty
Yeah i left it white but I would not take it a part to paint it. I would tape it up and paint it that way.
Thanks, good vid. No sanding at all? Maybe a little wipe with steelwool for some kind of grip?
Nope. You can get spray paint with s little texture in it.

+PortCanaveralFlorida ahh I get you I used vinyl paint only on the cap underneath the rear light. I don't suggest using vinyl paint on the body.
Just got a Inspire , will like you to Paint it.
Thank you!
Hello, What did you use first to paint the body? Rust professional or FlexiDIP ?

I have pinted with spry for plastic, but before i used sand paper 400... but some scratch show up in battery paint... dont know why.
you can spray paint your drone a few coats then sand the spray paint then do a final coat over the spray paint to get out the scratches.
+Jason Smith Make sure you use extra fine sand paper and do not press hard
If u use plasti dip can u just spray i right onto the plastic or do u have to rough up the plastic
No you don't have to rough it up. The flex paint does not coat as good so you will have to spray on more than one coat to cover the white
Do you find that the paint causes the temperature to rise quicker during flight?
No not at all.
Visual artists use drones to capture beautiful new images and camera angles. ___Drone mount
I liked your video right up to where you said you dont like the Steelers...haha j/k, I been looking to paint mine also.
Richard G - haha funny thing is I am rooting for them now :) my team is horrible now
What team is that? Did the Steelers make it to the playoffs?
Richard G - broncos :) I would have painted a drone with their colors but their colors are ugly as hell
Did you clean the parts first before you painted?
Richard G - no but it would not be a bad idea to do that especially if the color you are using is unforgiving.
It would be sexier if you molded the plastic parts and made them into carbon fiber. That's what I'm doing with my mavic air 2.
Carbon fiber would be way more heavier then paint
@@JasonSmith-tj8bb check this carbon fiber molded piece. Look carefully at the time of 7:28 ruclips.net/video/KpJdwryFj6k/видео.html
The peice almost floats in mid air because it's so light.

how many drones do you have?
are you giving away any?
i dont have 1 but would love to have 1 but time is really hard
Very good Video BUT the music in the back ground is annoying as Hell UGH.....
haha i know it sucks but don't want to spend the time to change it.
Your camera is epileptic trying to catch focus 🤣
You're just making the drone heavier. I don't recommend this at all
How much weight do you think this adds?
