  • In April 2012, We took Fleming 65 Venture II in the company of Norwegian owned Fleming 55 from Marstrand in Sweden to Stavanger in Norway - stopping at Skagen in Denmark en route. Once in Stavanger we visited the fjords and islands in the area.

    Mr Flemming, I know I don't know you like thousands of others that have seen your films and own your boats. Sadly I cannot claim fame to the last bit of my previous sentence. One day maybe. BUT I feel like I know you, due to your calming voice and your total love of film making. Anyone can these days put images on You Tube. Only some and they are few, can produce masterpieces of cinematography to capture the heart. Thank you so much.

    A delightful and revealing coverage of the Norwegian fjords. The vertical "walls" of the these fjords allows the Norwegian Navy Missile Armed patrol boats to "hide" close to these walls and even in some locations fire their surface-to-surface missiles from their hiding places. I have more than half a century of Naval service under my belt and in particular found exercising with Norwegian Navy elements, when I served on exchange with the Royal Navy, very challenging and rewarding. I thoroughly enjoy all your documentary-style videos. Thank you.

    Beautiful vessel, beautiful scenery and beautiful music. Having had the cheek to complain about the "musak" on a recent video, I must say that this stunning video is enhanced by the evocative Peer Gynt Suite by Grieg. A stunning production all round; thank you Mr Fleming.

    The nice thing about traveling with another Fleming yacht is that added perspective not available on a solo journey.

    I really love your videos. It is through your camera that I get to see parts of the world I would not otherwise get to see. Thank you sir very much. Also, I have not forgotten the video where you explain how you use the voyage to make improvements on your product. Should I ever come into the ability to buy a boat I would prefer one of yours.

    Mr Fleming, Are you planning a trip in the future to Greenland? It's a very interesting place worth a visit.

    • @FlemingYachts
      @FlemingYachts  6 лет назад +3

      Actually, I visited Greenland in a Russian icebreaker - the Kapitan Khlebnikov - in 2016. I agree, it is a very interesting place and I would love to take Venture there. Alas, it is just too far to go from the west coast of North America. If you are interesting in watching my video of Greenland, you can find it on this channel.

    nice video tony....can venture travel across the atlantic ocean ...

    • @FlemingYachts
      @FlemingYachts  6 лет назад +2

      She could by carrying extra fuel in bladder tanks. Three Fleming 55's have crossed the Atlantic. Our boats are really designed for extended coastal cruising rather than ocean crossings.

      FlemingYachts you kindly played Brahms rather than the motor noise which must be exhausting after a couple of hours of navigation!

    How much all in did the trip cost ???? Fuel , food crew expenses ????

    • @ysesq
      @ysesq 5 лет назад +4

      its a business expense - probably written off as marketing. so $0 for him. for fleming yachts its 1200 gallons of diesel per fillup or $6000 per tank. Probably does 0.5-1.5 mpg max so ballpark 5000 miles on these trips or 5000 gallons - $30,000 in fuel, probably another $10,000 for 1-2 crew for a month in salary, $3000 for food for 4 people, a few flights at $8000 or so, boat shipping expenses across the pond at $15,000. $50K-$60K all in. definitely a rich mans trip. Probably paid a bit for the helicopter too.
      I would normally fly in - $2000 for two tickets, do a bareboat charter catamaran for $4000 in low season, spend $500ish on fuel and have the same experience at 1/10th the cost.

    I mean honestly. A wonderful video totally ruined by the music. Why can't you put some boom boom thud ziggety beep electronic crap on the soundtrack like all other RUclipsrs. You are a non conformist sir. Keep up the good work.
