    THIS IS THE MOST WONDERFUL AND AMAZING TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY I HAVE EVER SEEN!. THANK YOU. - I watch all your Venture Boats trips (Aleutians, Alaska, British Columbia, Europe, Ireland, England, California, Idaho, New York). All videos are properly edited and perfectly presented. All landscapes, scenes, nature, blue sky, grey sky, deep blue sea make me feel so good. I enjoy watching all your videos all time, every weekend from my home in Los Angeles. Even though I am not fortunate like you to circumnavigate the globe and travel on own boat, your sea journey and wonderful voyage videos have brought many delights and good feeling to me. We all ordinary people are grateful to you (Gratitude) for your generous and wonderful presentations. Thank you.

    I wonder how much of this ice has permanently receded since this video was done? Stunning filmwork, amazing scenery, I don't know how I ended up on this youtube video but I sure am glad I did.

    wow I'm so glad to be able to view your adventure. I took a cruise ship to Alaska in 2018 but you were able to view close up scenes that I could not. Staggeringly beautiful country but everywhere we went, townspeople and tour guides warned us over and over that "Alaska kills". When we returned home, a woman I know told me that her 48 year old, wilderness experienced daughter, a resident of Juneau, disappeared on a hike near the town and her body was never found.

    • @FlemingYachts
      @FlemingYachts  Год назад

      There is nothing to be worried about when cruising the Pacific Northwest but you do have to pay attention to the tides. Water flowing through narrow channels can create rapids as the water at each end tries to equalize. When it does so, then you will have what is called "slack" water and this is the time to pass through the channel. Slack only lasts for a relatively short period. I referred to this as the "gate". I have a just completed a video to illustrate this which is due to upload on Nov 25th so look out for it. If you are a subscriber and have clicked the bell, you will be advised re upload - otherwise go to Flemingyachts.com and click on You Tube red arrow at top right of home page.

    Thank you for letting me live my dream through your adventures, wonderful film and have subscribed to your channel. I know i probably cannot afford a ship like Venture but i am curious how much it would cost, Over 3 million ?

    • @FlemingYachts
      @FlemingYachts  5 лет назад

      To reproduce a Fleming 65 like Venture with all the electronics and other equipment would be more than 3 million USD. A smaller version eg the Fleming 55 would be closer to 2 million. There are also used boats available which are fine and cost much less. There are also other brands of used boats. For example, 20 year old fiberglass Grand Banks are excellent cruising boats and are very reasonably priced. The important thing to keep in mind is that you should own the boat. The boat should not own you! You can also charter eg, NW Explorations out of Bellingham.

    You obviously have no idea when you say that the cruise ships don't stay away from the harbor seals they are very careful and heavily regulated to do what they can to stay away from the wildlife and not disturb it and their speeds are very slow they do an excellent job it is much more of a chore to cruise through the fjords in a thousand foot ship and they do it phenomenally.

  • @JohnProthero

    What was your crew complement on this voyage, and how many passengers? You mention your captain, Chris. Family member or hired captain? Fantastic adventure. I'd SO MUCH rather do this than a cruise ship!

    • @Filmgen1
      @Filmgen1 10 лет назад +8

      Sorry for tardy response bur i have been cruising the west coast of Vancouver island where communications are few and far between. Chris the captain is a professional. I have had much experience in designing and building boats but somewhat lacking in having time to use them. Apart from myself we also had on board between two and three others with some boating experience - but not professionals. Four is a good number to have on board with six as a maximum. Venture is now in her 10th season and has in excess of 47,000 nautical miles under her keel.

    • @JohnProthero
      @JohnProthero 10 лет назад +1

      Thank you for responding, Tony. Your videologues are very enjoyable and informative. As much as I'd like to take a cruise to Alaska, I'd much rather be on a
      Fleming 65 and enjoy the inner waterways as you did. It has inspired me to learn about maritime navigation.
