it’s nice to see the ce series getting a face lift. i think the flat 3 panel glass was better because you could get the glass replaced from anyone but the curved requires you to come back to ic. also having ac stock is gonna make life much nicer
Very nice, than kyou for finally showcasing your new CE series. These buses have been my overall favorite personally, I loved the old body style and everything about the bus. I'm glad you guys took it up a step further without completely changing the look (and most likely the feel) beyond recognition. The drivers area looks a lot more like the International trucks, like the Prostar for example. Love it. Only thing is I'm not really a fan of things like the electronic parking brake, but if it works good enough to be trusted with 15+ lives at one time, then it is safe.
I'm really glad you guys are now showcasing the design. I do have a few question regarding the new design though. Are air doors an option? How do the electric doors turn on/off while you're inside the bus? Are the service doors connected in any way during normal operation? If one of the doors are jammed will the other one just open anyways? I'm really interested in seeing these on the road, but definitely have some concerns with lack of knowledge. I'm also interested into seeing the potential Cummins gas engine coming after 2026 I think it was.
For my opinion, I do like the newer CE’s with seatbelts. I do like the dashboard on that thing at all. I think it looks like a nice school bus. Still a big shamed that my school district has newer Blue Bird Visions And Some Older All Americans but I do like about the new CE is the driver seat has the IC Logo On It but after all, it looks nice I hope ClawBoss reacts to this.
I hope I see these buses in Canada This new design I really like even after seeing it on RUclips And in pictures I want to drive one when I get my Class C licence in Ontario
It looks like they just highly upgraded the saf t liner c2s. I think the c2s needed a major upgrade but this doesn't fall within the style of ic. I miss the old look. If anything, they should've just upgraded the old look of the ce's imo
@@smorris281 Yea, at least the old design looked like it could get the job done. This new one looks like a C2 and looks like it will breakdown when it has the chance
Not bad i love the older gen ic bus coming from a bus mechanic point of view there very well layed out as far as working on them and they drive and ride good the only complaint i have is fix the rear bumper it needs to be tougher it bends at nothing i have replaced so many of those
@@JoshuaWithTheBusesi think in January 2024 , they will phase out the second generation IC CE school bus and third generation IC CE school will be out in January 2024 also , fourth generation will be in somewhere 2030s
The three things I would change about this bus are to make the aggressive styling inherited from the MV more subdued and to go back to the three piece windshield. The rear of the bus is a heavy contrast to the redesigned front end and still looks kind of dated. I would kind of resolve this by having the rear roof bit slope upward like what IC did to the front of the AE and having the taillights be these smaller horizontal lights as standard like what they did on the late generation IC RE. On the other hand, I worry that the front of the bus might be too intimidating for young children as opposed to the older design from 2005 which kind of has an okay design. I feel like they should have designed the new hood around a modernized version of the 3800 one or even the one on the HV. Also, I like where IC was going with the new curved windshield, but its kind of harder to get the single piece from an aftermarket dealer. I feel like a flatter windshield could've been more of a cost saving measure as you can get the glass replaced anywhere, but not the curved one. This is just my own opinion, and i know IC wouldn't modify the design for a while.
I am one of the BIGGEST IC fans out there. This new CE is a step backward. The second generation, (05-24) was a VERY ergonomic design, easy to read switches, and one of the easiest buses to drive. The look didnt really age and they looked similar to Carpenter bus bodies. Very disappointed, and we are loosing a great product which didnt need to be changed.
I agree. Companies are so crazy about everything being “Next Gen” now. The new design looks horrible. Like that passenger side mirror mount now with 20 feet of brackets to attach it. What was wrong with how it was before?
@smorris281 the electric buses are going to be their down fall especially in the cikder climates. The new cockpit style is going in the wrong direction. Why replace the the air brake with that?
None of this matters until assembly quality improved. My 2023 IC: roof leaks all over, dashboard rattles horribly, drivers seat mechanism rattles, fuel cap leaked, windshield wipers get tangled with each other, knows fall off left control panel. Terrible.
I said that when our trucks went from the old ProStar line to the new LT line, but boy are the new ones great. They look strange at first compared the the old DuraStars, but you’ll love them.
4" off the width? So much for having the widest entry door in the industry. I don't like this new design at all. What did you do??? Yeah, I don't think so.
I think the design is fresh and new but some aspects like the wide door, large pronounced hood made the CE unique compared to the Thomas c2 and bluebird vision. I also don’t like that big bump out above the entry door.
I hope they did something with that lousy EXHAUST BREAK system and that WEAK and noisy cooling fan to assist the engine for braking coming to a stop. This terible solution with the cooling fan continues to operate after a pick up or drop off preventing acceptable acceleration to get back up to speed. That cooling fan sucks out 200 RPM and acceleration sux. We have Cumins Engines BLUEBIRD and many other school bus manufacturers get it for a very effective ENGINE BRAKE or JAKE brake
