  • We have been sent this fabulous clip by Robert Goodall of our GWR pannier tank 1369 on the Wenford Bridge line in Cornwall crossing the A389 at Dunmere, between Boscarne Junction and Wenford Bridge. It was taken in the 1960s by his father Ernest.
In the last days of steam, 1369 and her class sisters were shedded at Wadebridge to work the Wenford Bridge china clay trains, replacing the iconic LSWR Beattie well tanks, before they themselves made way for diesels. The line from Padstow to Wadebridge and through to Wenford Bridge is now the Camel Trial, but the railway still exists from Boscarne Junction to Bodmin General and Bodmin Parkway (né Bodmin Road) as the Bodmin & Wenford Railway.

Can you lend 7827 to Severn Valley Railway? We need a 2nd manor while 7812 is away!
