I have listened to this so many, many times. What inspirational music by a father and daughter duo. I will continue to come back to listen many more times still as I am such a fan of Gabriella and her amazing musical talent.

Not only is it music to melt your heart - so are the smiles between father and daughter.
This shows the value of a parent who by example teaches his child. A lesson for us all, and while most of us cannot be of the musical talent of this daughter and father combination we all need to remember that we never the less are modeling behaviors that can make our children higher functioning members of the human family.

I usually end up down the black hole of RUclips every time I visit……but for the last hour I’ve been watching this young lady play all my favourite songs on her guitar. Wondering if her father has influenced her choice in great music as well as her talent for the guitar. He must extremely proud.

Beautiful rendition of Sting and Miller's song.I just listened to them singing it. Plus I'm so moved to watch Gabriella play a duet with her Dad. Family. What a great Dad he must be, and what a great daughter Gabriella has to be.I've listened to all her videos I can find on RUclips-many times. It's what I do every morning. I wish there were a new one every day. I can't speak for others, but I feel honored that Gabriella has let me into her life a little bit more. She plays for her own joy, but she must be aware of what joy she gives others.
This joy I believe is part of the reason for his encouraging her & teaching her to fingerpick. It's obvious that they share a great joy in it. But the joy brought to others... well that's icing on the cake! :D
Thank you Sergio for the encouragement & the teaching/sharing; but thank you, Gabriella for the struggling, striving, and effort put into your talent. For I believe it has, and will continue, to make you an artist "par excellence" like no other! Already you have a style and method all your own; and it will only continue to improve as you continue to strive & push yourself beyond... always beyond... what you have already attained!
I obviously agree, although I think Gabriella said in the FBS video that she taught herself. That she picked up her's Dad's guitar when she was 12 without his knowing it, and she didn't like playing at first. (Maybe she said all of that on her Facebook page.) Even if her Dad just offered encouragement and an occasional hint, that's superb. I bet he shoots the videos. Or maybe her Mom does. Or a friend. She's Swedish, yet she seems so American. And she's so soft-spoken, modest, and down-to-earth, yet she's not shy about putting herself forward. Great combination.

I think if more parents did this with their children, the world would be a much better place. End video games, make music together with your children and that is a bond that will renew rewards for potentially generations. Does my heart good to see a father and daughter that close. I've taught many children to play and I love them all, but still I regret that I never had any of my own. Sergio, God blessed you with a very talented daughter.

I watched the entire clip before reading the detail... and the entire time I was thinking... who is this guy who compliments such a talented player so flawlessly... I can see clearly, where Gabriella gets her talent, and that is so good to know.. Nothing ever, in this world will take place of Father and Children Relationships..

I love that Gabriella shares a love of music with her father and a talent.
Please accept my comments as compliments to her and in no way criticisms of him, but comparing the two show what a talented guitar player she is:
1. Relaxed and calm
2. Subtle hands
3. Concentrating on her playing without struggling
4. Never a sound as her hands glide over the guitar strings (not once in the many videos I have watched of her playing)
The best part....the pair of wonderful smiles when they look at each other.
Old comment, but had to reply. No need to compare parent and child on music. Different grooves, different moves. Both play exceptionally well :) .. for their age .. and the style .. .. I am not getting through here am i? .. ok I give up.
Clearly he is holding back, laying the foundation for her to play over.
The sound is actually from a studio recording. You can hear it in the quality, but also there are some studio chair squeaks in the silences.
The guitars are recorded in stereo as well. It’s hard to be sure, but given how much reverb there is and the spread of the guitar sounds I’d guess that they each were recorded with a fairly close XY pattern using cardioid condensers. That would capture the low frequencies we’re hearing while still preserving high end. They could also have blended in a center mic like an RE20 or a AKG C414, but it’s impossible to tell.
The point is yes they work well together and have a great musical relationship, but what you’re hearing is a studio performance. It was recorded, edited (maybe), mixed and possibly even mastered a little before they made this video. Studio performances are often very different from live ones so if you want to see what her live performance is like you’ll have to go back to some of her older videos.
That being said, they really do make excellent music together and a good/passionate studio performance is often harder than a live one. It’s a good performance, just not the one that most people expect. Also their timing is almost perfect.
David Schmidt Thank you for sharing that information, you must work in the industry. I know nothing about playing music or anything that goes on in recordings but wondered how the sound could be that good sitting in a living room. I do enjoy watching them though.
