I only ever used red loctite once and I had to remove the part for an adjustment about an hour later. Yeah, tossed that part, could never get them apart. Hard pressed to go past blue, now.

“Harry Hacker” a name given to someone (a rider) who charges forward with reckless abandon 🤪

You will need a torch to heat up the red loctite to be able to crack loose the handle bar screws. Blue loctite was all that's needed 😊

The reason I used red and not blue loctite, is because these are never coming off. If for some reason I did have to change something, I would be changing the whole triple clamp. But as discussed in the video, use blue if you think you will need to take them off, as applying heat is a pain in the rear.

    Nice set up!
Though, I don’t understand why so many off road riders choose to bolt their hand guards to their handle bars at both ends. I have learned that some people are not familiar with triple tree mounts, but some just choose to mount them to the handlebars anyway, which results in them twisting on a good enough impact. So, I just recommend them to everyone, just in case they are unfamiliar with them. But I highly recommend them. I have a Rally, and the only company that I know of that offers triple tree clamps for this bike is Zeta. Ride safe!

I did have a think about that, however decided to stick to bar mounted ones. As you said, in a large impact the bar only ones may twist and bend, I feel that this, while inconvenient is better than the alternative of potentially shearing the bolts on the upper triple clamp.
Like everything on motorbikes, everything is a compromise. Do what works for you.
      Thanks for the comment :)

@@SqueakyBootsAU I hope you never take a hit that impactful! Generally you will just snap the aluminum mount. I’ve seen my buddy do it to an old XR.
