Hi there. Love the review for the simple reason that I also just bought one about a week ago and have about 230 km. On it and so far i have a similar impression about this bike. Also I knew what to expect because I spent a year researching this bike. Love it. Two more to the club. 😂

I'm in Ontario. You're in the right location for this bike as far as terrain but I'm going to Nova Scotia in Aug and plan on trailering the bike down as we will be there for a month. Looking to get a smaller one for my daughter too. Just got back into it after a 21 year pause. My other bike is a 1986 gsxr 750 that I bought new 38 years ago and has only 28000 kms and show room condition. Going to get it out next year. Hope you have some great adventures on it. Take care.
@thomasbognar8324 sounds fun, enjoy! I rode my 1991 XR250L from Halifax to Prince Albert Saskatchewan via the the Trans Labrador on the TCAT last summer. These little bikes are great for long-distance touring. Just take it slow!
Normally I don't talk to people on line but was compelled because of the timing of the purchase and a fellow biker with the same machine. Maybe some day we will cross paths. I was a bit of a nut case in my younger days but at 61 I'm a little reserved hopefully by now. Probably not enough.
@@philipredmond8487 I agree with that, except keeping up with bigger bikes when they decide to break speed limits. Pretty much everything else is a joy on this bike. Imo
Grat to hear tour thoughts on the 300 rally. I never seem to be able to let it go off my radar. I currently ride a BMW f650gs but probably changing bike next year. The 300 rally is definitely one of my candidates.
I used to have a G650gs, that was 2012. I have to go off long ago memories, but I would say the CRF300 is 80% as capable on road , while 200% as capable off road. Mostly due to the transmission, which is absolutely brilliant on the 300.

I've just been riding the crap out of this bike. Unfortunately, I still haven't bought a thing for it. Other than a GPS mount. But the risers are coming. I'll let you know when I order them.
11.5k on my 250 rally , original everything except tires , I mean of course several oil and filter changes.70 mpg , I change oil ever 2.5k or before storing for winter .Btw I rode it every month last winter, weird weather but still few other bikes can protect you from that kinda weather and be light enough to be confident .I rode it in rain, high winds and every condition except not on the interstate highway , it can hold 65 mph with a little complain and I vary from 55- to 70 for 30 miles at a time , highly recommend ducking into the windscreen when semis go by lol . The IRC tires people complain about lasted me 8k miles !
I totally agree with you, I might even buy another set of IRC tires! They are an excellent 50/50 tire. And yes, great protection from rain and wind. Even my boots stay relatively dry.
Some may say that I'm a stupid a- hole too but they probably don't share my idea of a good time. Looking to get a helmet cam as well. Anyway take care man.

I bought 2 new crfl250s in 2018. We love them! I wanted a 250 from 1980. A great all around bike. Not perfect, but very fine!
You can watch the tcat series for your 80s 250cc entertainment needs. Lol

The CRF 300L and Rally are kind of the Ichy Boots bike of choice for people who want a lighter bike but with diversity.
Absolutely, It really does do a lot of different things from tight trails to long-distance touring quite well.
